Different Aspects of Technology

Humanity, since primitive times, has been interested in nature. And the thing
we call technology has arisen from this interest. Comprehending the events of nature,
correlating these events, and utilizing them have always been in the nature of
humanity. The adventure that continues since that first spark ignited, since man first
swirled that round-shaped stone, will go on until the last crumble of humanity
vanishes. The most spectacular part is, those round-shaped wheels are now at 225 km
distance from our world, on mars, searching for things that may lead to a
breakthrough for humanity. In this aspect, technology is presumably the most
substantial heritage humanity has given to itself, a blessing. However, Mother
Nature’s rule requires balance. Excessiveness is a threat to this balance and
technology is no exemption.

One must not look at technology with blinders. In that, everything, as well as
technology has unpleasant sides and flaws besides its benefits. This blessing's pros
have made man somehow blind and made him overlook the cons. Thus, every pleasant
thing comes with the possibility of addiction. Whoever the person is, no one can
escape from this reality. Especially children and teens who have born in this age of
technology are likely to tend to digital addiction. Therefore, researches that have been
made in this subject indicate that around %50 of teenagers consider themselves
technology addicts. This addiction, basically is similar to other addictions, and
mustn't be underestimated. Specifically, technology addiction leads to a variety of
psychological disorders due to the lack of social interaction and overuse of social
media, as well as psychical disorders owing to continuous exposure to radiation,
immotility, excessive screen time, etc. In order not to suffer from these disorders in the
future, precautions must be taken in the early stages. To be able to do that, one may
seek for technology consultation, and psychological help, if necessary. On the other
hand, an individual should find things that catch their interest and make them
socialize. Thus, one will be able to balance between excessive amounts of technology
exposure and being ignorant of technology.

Technology undeniably has a number of pros and cons. If used well-balanced,

technology is an invaluable source of information, an endless world that gives us a
vastness of choices. However, if used excessively and deviated from its aim, it can be
our end, too.

THE DEPENDENCY OF DIGITAL TOOLS

Technology provide us one of the biggest source of information but is not only
one of the biggest source of information also one of the major problem that we
encounter today’s world. So perhaps their benefits and harms might be one of the
most controversial topic of the humanity. When we examine the benefits, we can offer
a number of examples. As proof technology provide us information. We are able to
access the internet wherever we would like. All we need for on going communication
and getting immediate information is simply wifi network. The other aspect of
technology is scientific development. For instance technological tools are particularly
real improvement in medical science with which many patients have found the cure
for their illness. Many patients recover. Many surgeries are completed succesfully. But
we consider one of the main result of technology in daily life on going communication
with the people from all over the world.

Thanks to the digital tools in technology age, we can communicate with a

humanity on the other side of the world. Perhaps we can heal our each others wounds
or create a smile on our faces. Thus, which is so valuable.
The benefits of technology are surely invaluable yet, at he same time, it has a lot of
damage . For instance the excessive use of social media can be thought one of the
leading addiction which is hard to get rid of. Sometimes certain people waste most of
their time on the phone or other comminication device . Main purpose of these device
is comminication, having fun, doing shopping ect. However certain people use them
out of their main purpose. Surely certain people may use them for the entertainment
but certain people can not prevent spending lots of time on them. It is a tremendous
loss for the humanity. We only come to life once and all our days fly on the internet or
social media. We must collect memories and travel the world or do whatever we enjoy.
Wasting our time on the internet is not healty etiher. Being dependent on these
devices for days makes our brain dysfunctional. Our ideas is melt like ice cubes
beacuse of excessive use of these devices.

To sum up , the element which is necessary is balance. Whatever we use we

must be careful and well–balanced. The technology has benefits and harms just as it
has being mentioned before . The important thing is that when using technology or
technological tools, you should not deviate from their purpose. Therefore we can
minimize the damage and utilize from their benefits efficently. Also we have to able
control ourselves beacuse no one can teach us inner discipline. It is signifcant to spend
time in a good way. This value is like a diamond and if you learn to spend your time
efficent on your own, you become not only a responsible person but also you are able
to have success in your life.
Today's Technology Addiction

It is known that technology has become the indispensable part of our lives in the last
three decades. Excessive use of technology, which is define as technology addiction, is
actually an irresistible desire for the people who used technological devices to be
managed by a person, while a person should manage the technology. It is said that
this kind of addiction is most particularly seen in young people.
That is to say, while the fact that the working sector is constantly intertwined
with technology at work is not called addiction, the aimless use of the internet by
young people, which is widely seen in our age, is called technology addiction. Rather
than defining this as an addiction, it would be more accurate to define it with the
expression of keeping up with the life.
Considering that hospitals, post offices, public institutions, companies, schools
and all registration systems that already placed in our life need getting benefit from
technology, It can be define as one of the natural circumstance for people to use
technology. Indeed, in hospitals it is not possible to be examined without technology,
to register for an examination, to take a array and even to enter the hospital. This is
just a small example in daily life. In a solid foundation like this, progress cannot be
made without technology and life may stop.
When we compare the current time with the past, the rapid development of
technology and its inclusion in our lives is one of the topic that should be paid
attention by people of any age. Parents should not raise their children as their own
parents have already done. Instead, they should bring up and behave them by
considering our age and how much technology has improved. For instance, parents
should not restrict their children when they want to take advantage of technology.
Maintaining awareness for effective use of technology and time management would
be more beneficial for their children.
The children in the past, who are parents now, didn't use technology often like
the teenagers in our age due to the fact that technology hadn't been developed much
at that time. They spent most of their time playing games on the street with their
friends regardless of being rebuked by their families for coming home late, but at that
time no one called as them neither street addictions nor game addictions. When
children today are doing the same thing while using technology what older teenagers
did call as digital addictsç In the event that they can't manage their time efficiently,
how right is it to label them as a digital addicts…

Effects of Technology

Some people think technology is compeletely detrimental and some people think
technology is inevitable. In fact both of them are excessive. People should use
technology in a balanced way because technology addiction can be harmful for people
but balanced using is beneficial for humanity. If we want take advantage of those
benefit we should use technology for essential things.

The benefits of technology are actually more than thoughts. If human’s brain were
united with artificial intelligent (AI) then technologic welfare would increase. Errands
would get easier. The scientists would find various inventions. Countries would be
medically developed and that would decrease early death rate.

As for losses of technology. If people are too much dependent to technology that
makes them otiose. People wouldn’t make anything. Everything depends on
technology and that would be disaster because the artificial intelligent (AI) can’t be
compared with human’s brain. They can make more mistakes than humans and they
can be irreversible. States would try to exploit each other.

Those were pros and cons of technology for society. As for personal pros and cons of
technology, of course there are advantages and disadvantages of technology for
person. Like society. One of the biggest reasons of disadvantage is “addiction”.

Everybody knows that technology addiction is the one of the biggest problem in
recent years. Internet addiction is one of the most common addiction and there is no
advantage of this. Internet addiction makes person anti-social. This is a crystal-clear
fact. Person can be addicted easily and it’s hard to get rid of this. Person should make
internet detox for this, he should move away.

Person can find his way with navigations, can travel whole world from his armchair
and lots of things. If the person is not addicted then he can take advantage of
technology in a balanced way.

DIGITAL ADDICTION

We are getting lonelier as the time passes...We are as far away as we are close
to each other . Communication is gradually fading away from our lives, and we
cannot even put up with looking at each other face to face. Day by day we isolate
ourselves from the society, and get more inner-directed...

Digital addiction keeps on increasing its audience every second, and it does not
look like it will it will cease for a while. Digital addiction which is also known as the
disease of the 21st century a newly introduced notion. You do not need to look so far
away to see the affects of digital addiction which is a product of excession. After all
those, who are digital addicts, can be our friends, relatives, family members or even
ourselves.

We also should not pass people who like being addicted and inside this
extravagance of waste of time. Yes, there are also people who love being an addict,
they are aware of their enslavement , but still sacrifice their health for the sake of
nothing! So here comes this question: What is the thing that provokes people to the
extemism?

Well, of course there are so many answers for that but there is one that is the
most importent: digital can be an escape route for people.

Some surely believe that when they start surfing on the internet they can forget
what they want to neglect and get over it easiy . Well it is correct to some extent, that
they can overlook it for a while but let me remind you its effects will only be
temporary. Digital can show you a road to road out of worries but until you reach the
the end, no one will tell youthat the road ends with a dead-end. Here, when people
reach to the end of the street they will be overwhelmed with the weight of the the
things they piled up until now. So at the end the person , who could have dealt with his
problems back then, now is not able to be face to face with everything and falls prey to
the depression and anxiety.

And as a result of this people with deranged mentalities isolate themselves

further and are left alone with metal boxes that cannot say a mere word to
themselves, they create an imaginery world which they can be happier. Thus
individuals and societies are formed that are increasingly abstracted and
unsympethetic to each other.

Now everyone has their own worlds and a metal box hat is being adored a lot...

What Did We Lose?

Digital addiction, which is the current epidemic of our generation, has

hazardous effects on people from every and each age. Using electronical devices
nonstop, forming a perilous dependence to them are being considered as a “normal
behaviour” slowly in many communities. Querying the process of normalizing, it is
obvious that one’s interest is discovered easily with the help of internet. Considering
this happened, it is not hard to take attraction using this materials, which also give
opportunities to imply the idea of this addiction being normal. Digital world takes
over lives, relationships, reality. To prevent this from happening, limiting usage and
day plans could help.

When it has been proven that the harm is improving day by day due to
increasing screen times which is caused by appealing subjects as mentioned and
especially infants, kids, juveniles need to be distanced toward such apparatuses,
taking action and spreading awareness are consequential.

Furthermore, this illness cause many other problems, not just stays as itself but
hurts in other ways. Some hassles associated with digital addiction are: anxiety,
depression, sight problems, abnormal weight change. Each of them is scarier and
fatal than other. For instance, depression took many innocent lives, it is a challenge to
recover from anxiety etc. Acknowledging digital addiction is the most common
sickness of 21st century, knowing that we need to fight against it has to help us in this
battle.

If we lose it, we will not have a real word to live in, emotions to feel, places to
touch and experience, people as their trueselves. “How is that?”you may ask, for real
world, the answer is quite clear. Anything which is shown to us in the universes
created in digital worlds are nowhere close to real. Does not matter how realistic it
looks, how much you believed it is real, as a fact: it is not life. It may give close
sensations to it yet it will not be changing the truth. Whether tried to be denied,
resemblance to existence is always a prison in souls’s perspective. This leads to not
being able to experience. More simplified, inability to undergo differing genuine from
fake. As the origin of addictions, may it never come to existence.

Addicted to games

PROS
• Education: Studies have found that online games can improve learning. When digital
games have been used in the classroom, teachers see improved test scores. Games also
allow students to learn and then apply what they have learned in a reallife situation
• Life Skills: Many online games teach kids how to delegate, work as a team, and prioritize.
Internet-enabled games that let kids play with their real-life friends often require
collaboration and division of tasks to beat the level
.• Improved Brain Function: Video games have been shown to help us improve our ability to
reason and solve problems. They help us make split-second decisions, process information
more quickly, and multitask effectively. Games can also improve hand-eye coordination and
boost auditory perception.
• Job Skills: The Federation of American Scientists (FAS) argues that kids need to play more
video games in order to be competitive in the current job market. In a report they released in
2010, the FAS said games helped teach higher-order thinking skills like problem-solving,
interpretive analysis, and more.

CONS
• Violence: Children playing violent video games show decreased activity in areas of the
brain dedicated to self-control and an increase in emotional arousal.
• Addiction: What makes video games addictive? Playing releases dopamine into our
systems, which gives us a feeling of pleasure and tells our brain to “do it again.” Children
with poor impulse control or who have a hard time fitting in are most vulnerable to game
addiction. This may be because video games offer an easy way to fill the void created when
real-world relationships are hard to form.
• Social Replacement: Be aware of how much your children are playing video games and if
it’s replacing or negatively impacting other aspects of their lives. Internet-connected games
make it easy to “hang out” with friends after school without ever leaving home. But this type
of virtual get-together is no replacement for actual face-to-face interaction. Setting aside the
potential problems of online predators and cyber-bullying, virtual hangouts rob kids of the
opportunity to practice their social skills and to move their bodies from one house to
another.

Signs and Symptoms of Digital Game Abuse:

•Falling grades
•Not sleeping enough, feelings of fatigue
•Free time is used almost exclusively for playing video games
•Irritability when not playing video games
•Neglect of hygiene
•Disinterest in other activities
•Increased anxiety Remember, even though video games have their place, they should
occupy less time than what kids need to devote to exercising, socializing, studying, and
sleeping. In our ever-more-connected world, we could all use a little more practice just being
unplugged.
