2. Describe the working principle along with diagram for 1) Infrared Sensor, 2) Laser 9

5 Design a 7 kg Mechatronics washing machine using Mamdani Fuzzy AI Technique. 18

The inputs are a)Weight of the clothes (0-7 kg); b) Level of dirtiness (0-100%) and

c)Level of oily and greasiness in the clothes (0-100%).Explain all the steps during

design of the Mechatronics system using above method. Find out the outputs {i.e.

washing time(0-50 minutes) and quantity of detergent(0-250gms)} for the inputs

5.2 kg (clothes), 65% (dirtiness level) and 75% (level of oily and greasiness in the

clothes).

(b) Describe the steps for implementation of Genetic Algorithm. Also state the procedure how 12
Genetic Algorithm can be used for designing an intelligent automated Air Conditioner system.

2 (a) Design a traffic light controller for city square(two lanes crossing each other at 90 degrees) 14
using Sugeno Fuzzy Controller. The controller has the following inputs i) Number of traffic in
each lane(0-100), ii) Which time of the day(i.e. within 0-24 hrs), iii) which time of the year (i.e.
within 0-12 months). The output from the controller is; how much time the green signal will be
open in a lane (0-45 seconds). In a particular time number of traffics in a lane are 61, at 9am
and the month is November. Find out the time the green light will be on in that lane using the
above designed Sugeno Fuzzy Controller.

(b) Using various Mechatronics Sensors and Actuators Design an automated Car Parking system. 6

5 Design a 1.5 ton mechatronics air conditioner, which has to be automated using 18
Mamdani Fuzzy Technique. The inputs to the Air conditioner are room temperature
( 40C to 380C ), Humidity level (0-100%), Number of person present in the room (0
to 20 persons). The outputs (i.e. of air) are the temperature (160C to 360C) and AC
fan speed (between 0-100%). Find out the outputs (i.e.AC output air temperature
and fan speed) for the inputs 290C (room temperature), 60% (Humidity level) and
13 number of persons present in the room for the above mechatronics AC System.
