used to stretch the portion of the
object partially enclosed by the polygon
selection or window selection.

FUNCTION/used
to stretch the portion of the object
partially enclosed by the polygon
selection or window selection.

ROTATE MEANING
The rotate command is used to rotate
the object by an absolute angle.
It turns objects through the specified
point.

MIRROR
COMMAND MEANING
The mirror command in AutoCAD
is used to create a copy (mirror copy) of
the selected object. We can also delete the
source object after mirroring the object.

FUNCTION/used
The object can be mirrored
across a center line to create
the other half of the object.

SCALE MEANING
The scale command resizes an entity (body,
volume, surface, or curve) by a scaling
factor. The scaling factor may be a
constant, or may differ in the x, y, and z
directions.

FUNCTION/used
The entity chosen will be scaled about
the point or vertex indicated. If no point
or vertex is entered, it will be scaled
about the origin.

TRIM
COMMAND MEANING
The Trim command in AutoCAD
is used to remove the objects, which
meet the edges of other objects.

FUNCTION/used
It is used to remove extra lines or
extra parts of an object. We can also
perform trim using different selection
methods.

FILLET MEANING
Fillet edges are lines that define the
boundary between straight faces and
curved faces in the model.

FUNCTION/used
A round or fillet is an arc that is created
tangent between two 2D objects.
A fillet can be created between two objects
of the same or different object types:

ARRAY
COMMAND MEANING
The array is the command used to draw
multiple copies of an object in a particular
pattern or order. We can also manage
the distance between the objects in the
array.

FUNCTION/used
The shortcut key for Array is AR. To
implement an array, we can type Array or
AR on the command line and then
press Enter.

LINE
MEANING
The AutoCAD Command line is like
a combined control panel and index
of all AutoCAD commands you run
– and have run – on your drawing.

FUNCTION/used
When you type a keyboard command,
you're using the Command line. It's also
the source of prompts that are
embedded into AutoCAD commands.
FUNCTION OF DIFFERENT DRAW TOOLBAR
AND MODIFY TOOLBAR
POLYLINE
COMMAND MEANING
Creates a 2D polyline, a single
object that is composed of line
and arc segments.

FUNCTION/used
The PLINE command differs from the LINE
command in that the segments of the
PLINE are connected. When using the LINE
command, each segment is its own object.

RECTANGLE
MEANING
The Rectangle tool in AutoCAD
creates a closed Polyline in the
shape of a square or rectangle.

FUNCTION/used
To create a Rectangle, from the Ribbon Home
tab > Draw panel, click the Rectangle button.
Command line: To start the Rectangle tool
from the command line, type “REC” and
press [Enter].
FUNCTION OF DIFFERENT DRAW TOOLBAR
AND MODIFY TOOLBAR
CIRCLE
COMMAND MEANING
The circle command is used to
draw a circle by specifying the
center point and radius.

FUNCTION/used
The dimensions of the circle can be
altered easily by the user and therefore,
it provides a user-friendly workspace
for the designer to work on his designs.

SPLINE
MEANING
The spline command in AutoCAD is
used to create a smooth curve, which
passes through a set of predefined
points.

FUNCTION/used
It creates a non-uniform curve passing
through the points. Thus, spline can be
created by defining fit points or
Control Vertices (CV) points.

AND MODIFY TOOLBAR
ELLIPSE ARC
COMMAND MEANING
The Ellipse is a general command to
create ellipse on the AutoCAD display.
We can create the ellipse by specifying
the two-point on an axis and the
endpoint on another axis.

FUNCTION/used
The first axis and the second axis of the
Ellipse can be determined either as
minor or major axis, depending on the
specification.

MAKE BLOCK
MEANING
The block command allows you to
group any number of Debug Tool
commands into one command

FUNCTION
it as a command through which you can
group different shapes in one block and
make them one object so that you can
select these shapes in one click or use
them anywhere else by copying them in
one click.

AND MODIFY TOOLBAR
HATCH
COMAND MEANING
The Hatch command in AutoCAD is
used to fill patterns inside an
enclosed area. The patterns are
hatched, gradient, and solid fill.

FUNCTION/used
The gradient patterns are defined as
a smooth transition between two
colors. There are several hatch
patterns available in AutoCAD.

MULTILINE TEXT
MEANING
Multiline Text can be accessed
from the Ribbon Annotate tab >
Text panel by clicking the Multiline
Text button. Command line:

FUNCTION/used
To start the Multiline Text tool from the
command line, type “T” and press
[Enter]. When creating Multiline Text, a
rectangle shape is drawn to identify
the margins.

CONSTRUCTION
LINE MEANING
Construction lines are either
circles or straight lines that
extend to infinity in both
directions.

FUNCTION/used
Construction lines (also known as xlines)
are temporary linework entities that can
be used as references when creating and
positioning other objects or linework.

POLYGON
MEANING
The POLYGON command draws a regular
polygon with 3 to 1024 sides. After you
specify the number of sides, the Polygon
prompt is Specify center of polygon or
[Edge]:.

FUNCTION/used
When you specify the center of the

polygon (default option), the polygon
can then be inscribed in a circle or
circumscribed about a circle.
FUNCTION OF DIFFERENT DRAW TOOLBAR
AND MODIFY TOOLBAR
ARC MEANING
Creates an arc. To create an arc, you can
specify combinations of center, endpoint,
start point, radius, angle, chord length, and
direction values. Arcs are drawn in a
counterclockwise direction by default

FUNCTION/used
Draws either a minor or a major arc
based on the distance of a straight
line between the start point and
endpoint.

REVCLOUD MEANING
Creates or modifies a revision cloud. You
can create a new revision cloud by
selecting two corner points or polygonal
points, dragging your cursor, or you can
convert an object such as a circle, polyline,
spline, or an ellipse into a revision cloud.

FUNCTION/used
Use revision clouds to call attention to
geometry changes. You can insert
revision clouds in drawing views or on
the drawing sheet.
