    FINN THE HUMAN

    MATERIALS:
    • Light Yarns: White, peach, calypso blue, blue jean, black, green, grass green, a little
    of pink and yellow yarn.
    • Hook size: 2,5mm.
    • Tapestry needle.
    • Toy stuffing.
    • Safety eyes size 6 mm.
    * Optional: A black button or a piece of black felt.

    Finish size: 3,9” sit / 6,3” stand.

    ABBREVIATIONS:
    MR=Magic Ring
    Ch = Chain
    St=stitch
    SC = Single crochet
    BLO = Back loops only
    FLO= Front loops only
    INC= Increase
    DEC= Decrease
    HDC= Half double crochet
    Number in ( ) at the end of each round or row indicates the total number of stitches
    that should be in that round or row.

    LET START!

    Head/Hat
    With white yarn
    Rnd 1. 4SC in MR (4)
    Rnd 2. INC around (8)
    Rnd 3. *1 SC, 1 INC* x4 (12)
    Rnd 4. *2 SC, 1 INC* x4 (16)
    Rnd 5. *3 SC, 1 INC* x4 (20)
    Rnd 6. *4 SC, 1 INC* x4 (24)
    Rnd 7. *5 SC, 1 INC* x4 (28)
    Rnd 8. *6 SC, 1 INC* x4 (32)
    Rnd 9-14. SC around (32)
    Rnd 15. FLO SC around (32)
    Fasten off.

    Body
    Continue on the back loop of the head/hat from Rnd 15. With slst, join calypso yarn
    Rnd 1. BLO SC around (32)
    Rnd 2-8. SC around (32)
    Rnd 9. FLO SC around (32)
    Fasten off.
    With slst, join blue jean yarn on the back loop of the previous round. Continue
    working:
    Rnd 10. BLO SC around (32)
    Rnd 11-13. SC around
    Start stuffing
    Rnd 14. * SC 6, DEC* around (28)
    Rnd 15. *SC 2, DEC* around (21)
    Rnd 16. *SC, DEC* around (14)
    Rnd 17. *DEC* around (7)
    Fasten off and close the ring.

    Face
    With peach yarn
    Rnd 1. 4 SC in MR (4)
    Rnd 2. INC around (8)
    Rnd 3. *1 SC, 1 INC* x4 (12)
    Rnd 4. *2 SC, 1 INC* x4 (16)
    Rnd 5. *3 SC, 1 INC* x4 (20)
    Rnd 6. *4 SC, 1 INC* x4 (24)
    Change to white yarn
    Rnd 7. BLO SC around (24)
    Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Stretch and flat it to make it looks oval. Sew the
    eyes between Rnd. 4-5, 4 stitches apart. With black yarn, embroider a mouth. With
    pink yarn, embroider checks under the eyes.

    Cut pieces of yellow yarn and attach it to make the hair.


    Don’t stuff the face. Sew it at the center of the head/hat.

    Ears (Make 2)
    With white yarn.
    Rnd 1. Ch 2, SC 4 on 2nd chain from hook (4)
    Rnd 2. *INC* x 4 (8)
    Rnd 3. SC around (8)
    Rnd 4. 1 SC, *1 SC, 1 DEC* x2, 1 SC (6)
    Rnd 5. SC around (6)
    Don’t stuff them. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Sew them between round 6-7 of
    the head, 3 stitches apart from the face.

    Arms (Make 2)
    With skin/peach yarn.
    Rnd 1. 6 SC in MR (6)
    Rnd 2-14. SC around
    Change to light blue yarn
    Rnd 15. FLO SC around
    Rnd 16-18. SC around
    Don’t stuff them. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Sew them between Rnd. 1-2 of
    the body.

    Legs (Make 2)
    With black yarn
    Rnd 1. 6 SC in MR (6)
    Rnd 2. *1 SC, INC* x 2, 2 SC (8)
    Rnd 3. 4 SC, in BLO 4 sl st (8)
    Rnd 4. SC around (8)
    Rnd 5. 2 DEC, 4 SC (6)
    Change to white yarn
    Rnd 6. BLO HDC around (6)
    Change to skin/peach yarn
    Rnd 7. BLO SC around (6)
    Rnd 8-14. SC around (6)
    Change to blue yarn
    Rnd 15. BLO SC around (6)
    Rnd 16-18. SC around (6)
    Don’t stuff them. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

    Backpack
    With grass green yarn
    Rnd 1. SC 6 in magic ring (6)
    Rnd 2. INC around (12)
    Rnd 3. *SC, INC* around (18)
    Rnd 4. *SC 2, INC* around (24)
    Rnd 5–6. SC around (24)
    Rnd 7. *SC 2, DEC* around (18)
    Rnd 8. ch 3, skip next stitch, slst. Fasten off.

    With green yarn


    Do the same as Rnd 1 to 3, and process as follow:
    Rnd 4-6. SC around (18)
    Fasten off. Leave a long tail to sew it to the grass green
    part. Don’t sew it all, just half of it. Glue or sew the black
    button.

    For the straps (Make two)

    Leave a tail at the beginning and at the end of the chain for sewing.
    With grass green yarn chain 10, change to green yarn and chain 10. (20 chains)
    Sew them at the back of the backpack.
