1. Be able to define what philosophy is, perception and a partial point of
view.
2. Be able to distinguish things that belongs to perception and a Point of
view.
3. Be able to identify and enumerate the different branches of philosophy.

Motivation: The Teacher will let the learners answer the Activity Concept Check on
page 2 of their module.

A. Activity
1. The teacher will start the lesson proper by asking:
a. What comes on your mind when you hear the word Philosophy?
2. The teacher will let the learners accomplish the Semantic Web on
Philosophy.

3. Afterwhich, the teacher will tell the learners to have a self-check while
the discussion is ongoing.
The answers and reactions of the learners will be the basis of the discussion and
explanation of the lesson.
B. Analysis
The teacher will facilitate the discussion through Powerpoint presentation and
video lesson on “The Nature and Functions of Philosophy”. Reiterate that

1. Basically, philosophy is the “love of wisdom”


2. There are six (6) Branches of Philosophy that were discussed, ethics,
metaphysics, logic, aesthetics, epistemology, and politics.
3. In doing philosophy, we must use the holistic point of view in order to
have a valid, reliable and objective judgment.

D. Application:
The teacher will let the learners answer the activity under Explore and
Deepen on their module. The final written output will serve as the
assessment. Rubrics will be used to rate students.
