LESSON PLAN IN PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of this lesson the students should be able to
1. Interpret the concept of mental health and psychological well-being in everyday
observation about mental health problems during adolescence
2. Identify their own vulnerabilities
3. Create a plan to stay mentally healthy during adolescence

II. SUBJECT MATTER


TITTLE: mental health and well-being in middle and late adolescence
REFFERENCE: Module and internet
MATERIALS: ballpen, paper, notebook.
III. PROCEDURE
A. Preparation
 Prayer
 Greetings
Greet the students and ask them to seat properly
 Checking of attendance
 Motivation: Video presentation about how to stay mentally healthy during
adolescence
B. Review
C. Presentation
(Present lesson for the day)
The teacher presents the topic for the day and post the days objective that are
going to attained.
1. Interpret the concept of mental health and psychological wellbeing in everyday
observation about mental health problems during adolescence
2. Identify their own vulnerabilities
3. Create a plan to stay mentally healthy during adolescence

D. Activity proper
A. Activity
Think of some issues that affect your mental health and explain how did you
overcome those issue or problems.
Write it on ½ piece of pad paper and then present it to the class.
B. Analysis
1. How do you promote mental health and well-being as an adolescence
2. What is the importance of mental health and well-being as an adolescence
3. Why is it we need to study on how to be mentally healthy?
C. Abstraction
1. Why are self esteem and body image important?
- Self esteem is all about how much you feel are worth and how much
you feel other people value you.
2. What influence a person’s self esteem
- Puberty and media development
- Media images and other outside influence
- Families and school
- Common eating disorders

D. Application
In ½ crosswise explain in your own words the following question in not less
than 5 sentences.
1. How do you overcome the struggles and challenges that came to your life?
2. How important is it to study on how to overcome issues that affect our
mental health
3. How do we maintain being mentally healthy.

IV. EVALUATION
DIRECTION: identify the following statement if it is TRUE or FALSE (2pts each)
1. Self esteem is important because feeling good bout yourself can affect your
psychological health
2. Anorexia and bulimia are common eating disorder?
3. Everyone grows or develops at the same time or in the same way
4. For many people, especially people in their early teens, body image can be closely
linked to self-esteem.
5. Good mental health leads to negative self-image.
V. ASSIGNMENT

Name some ads that appear on TV billboards and internet.
1. What messages do these ads give to middle adolescents like you?
2. How have these ads affected your lifestyle, self-esteem and values
3. How has this lesson changed your perception about ads?
