SECTION I: INTRODUCTION
Business Venture serves as our last project for our subject Entrepreneurship, Business
Enterprise and Culminating Activity by putting up a small business typically begins with the
small amount of financial resources to gain profit. This project aims to prepare students to learn
practical skills that can be beneficial for them to earn extra income while studying. This is the
reason why John Patrick’s Selecta Ice Cream has been established. We produce products that
are in good quality available at low cost so it can be affordable for everyone.
My small business revolves around selling products aligned with the demand in my
community. I started my business during summer that is why I came up with selling Ice Cream
products because hot weather can often lead to sharp sale increase for the ice cream category.
During hot weather, most people find foods with cooling effects and than can be refreshing to
beat the heat.
Entrepreneurship and this culminating activity aims to provide great opportunities for the
aspiring entrepreneurs where new improved products opens its gate for the development of new
markets. It serves as an essential life skills to learn innovative approach to solve a problem,
enhance collaboration and good communication while working with a team. Preparing the
students with this kind of education is not only beneficial to them but also for the society.
In today’s generation, many students dream for putting up a business for a variety of
reasons including financial stability, career flexibility or just to live up with their passion. This is
why entrepreneurship is crucial because if teaches individuals how to invent innovative products,
collaborate with other people and to choose the right business in line with the factors
contributing to the demand of our community.

SECTION III: OVERVIEW OF THE BUSINESS
Entrepreneurship, Business Enterprise and Culminating Activity gave us the opportunity
to try putting up a business using a small resources to apply our knowledge in Entrepreneurship.
I came up with the name John Patrick’s Selecta Ice Cream which offers variety of ice cream
flavors the anyone can avail at a very reasonable price. Ice cream is very popular among
Filipinos because of the hot weather that we are experiencing most of the time. Filipinos love to
drink and eat foods that are refreshing to our bodies.
The different ice cream flavors we are offering in my business includes the following:
Selecta Creamdae (cheese, cookies and cream and choco mallows), Fruit Slice (orange, melon
and watermelon), Selecta Boom Boom (chocolate and cookies and cream), Cornetto (chocolate,
vanilla, rocky road and banana split), Creamdae Hapi Cup (choco, cheese and ube), Selecta
Supreme (buko salad, rocky road and double dutch), 2 in 1 Supreme (cookie crumble) and 3 in
1 Creamdae (ube, keso and choco).
The prices of the products starts up to 10 pesos to 150 pesos varying from the target
people. The cheaper and smaller ice creams are for the children and the bigger ones are for
family sizes. The strategy I have come up with is to advertise my products by posting it online.
People nowadays are very reliant to social media and almost everyone has an access to it. It will
be easier for them to know that we are selling ice cream products if they can see it online.
John Patrick’s Selecta Ice Cream targets people ranging from 7 to 60 years old or may
change based on a person’s health condition. Anyone who likes to have a refreshing feeling
during the day will surely enjoy our products with varieties of flavors they can choose.

We started at 3,205 pesos as our initial capital, 2,755 for the product cost, 200 for advertising
expenses and 250 for electricity bill. After 2 weeks, accumulated a profit by 200-300 sales quota
per day.
A. PRODUCT
Ice cream is a very popular dessert in the Philippines not only during summer but even
for any season. Children enjoys ice cream so much because of its different flavors and the
cooling effects it gives when eaten. Aside from that, it can be bought at a affordable price from
one person to family sizes.
We offer different flavors of ice creams including: Selecta Creamdae (cheese, cookies

I chose this product to begin my small business because even though it can be considered
as a seasonal business, here in the Philippines, people eats ice cream even during rainy days.
Additionally, it can last longer than the other products. You just have to store in inside the
freezer and
B. NEED
In preparation of starting my small business, I conducted an assessment of possible
products I can introduce to the market. When the decision was final, I prepared cleaning the
freezer and ordered the products from the Selecta Company. It was easier than I expected
because I just need to buy the products to sell and store in inside the freezer.

After that, I asked my family members to help me in advertising. We started posting in
our facebook accounts to notify our friends that we are selling ice cream products. It was not
hard to endorse it because we have a lot of children in our community. Most of them buy ice
cream almost everyday or every other day.
C. TARGET MARKET
My target market are those who loves ice cream including children, teenager and adults.
Even the old people loves ice cream but everyone has their own preferences trying to find new
flavors to satisfy their cravings. Children may love flavors like watermelon and pineapple
because of their bright colors, and adults may prefer the classic ones such as cookies and cream
and vanilla. There is no specific target market for our product because anyone can avail it as long
as they are safe to eat ice cream.

For advertisement, we have tarpaulins displayed in front of our store for the customers to
see our products. Moreover, we also posted our products on social media to reach our friends
nearby. Online advertisement is essential nowadays because almost everyone has an access to the
internet.
