MODULE 2 LESSON 3
Synapse Strengtheners:
1. Name some problems originating from the community that are experienced by
teachers in the school, regarding:
We cannot stop this traffic but we could do some steps to lessen this. Change within us and
through unity we can conquer these problems. Overbridges, bypass roads and flyovers are
constructed to reduce the traffic problems in large cities. Other measures include using cycles
whenever possible, avoiding talking over the phone while driving, give way to ambulances,
and avoid overtaking.Using curbing and signs to extend drop-off and pick-up zones may
reduce congestion at the immediate school site. Creating additional temporary parking areas
along with safe pedestrian routes from those areas to the school can also have an impact.
The community can help implementing security measures by making the environment a safe
place to be.You should ensure that the school has no easy access points.Schools should also
have CCTV cameras to monitor everything. These are great for keeping track of what’s going
on throughout the building and can help keep all children and staff safe as a result.Give
students orientations about the importance of their safety that they should be aware of their
surroundings. In terms of security measures, the school have directed to teachers for not
allowing their pupils to go unless they will fetch by their parents or guardians. For public
schools and private schools, a good way to help improve school security is by having well-lit
exteriors during school hours. The building itself should be well-locked with high-quality
locks, both when students are on the premises and when the building is closed for the
night. The community around your local area can be useful in helping keep children safe. It’s
not just the schools that can be vulnerable but the surrounding areas where your students are
walking to and from the premises. Your school board can work hand in hand with the
community organizations, such as Safety House WA Inc. to make sure that enough is being
done to keep kids safe when out and about at any time during the day, and outside of school
hours.
2. Describe how school and community officials work together in each of the following
events:
When schools and community organizations work together to support learning, everyone
benefits. This may be because positive relationships with schools can foster high quality,
engaging, and challenging activities, along with promoting staff engagement (Miller, 2005).
The school and community prepare for socio-cultural activities by first letting the students
know what the current cultural activity is .The benefits that they could get like bringing
people together, cultural activities such as festivals, fairs, or classes create social solidarity
and cohesion, fostering social inclusion, community empowerment, and capacity-building,
and enhancing confidence, civic pride, and tolerance. and how this affect their personality in a
good way. Socio-cultural activities are planned in order to give students the opportunity to go
outside the classroom and "live" the language they are learning while experiencing
If the school and community can work together in peace and order inside and outside of
school they can safeguard the safety of all student and the community. In our country, for
instance, one of the purposes and objectives of the Department of Education is to establish
schools and learning centers as facilities where school children are able to learn a range of
core competencies prescribed for elementary and high school education programs, or where
the out-of-school youth and adult learners are provided alternative learning programs and
receive accreditation for at least the equivalent of a high school education. The effort aims to
ensure both girls' and boys' safety at school and prevent the disruption of instruction brought
on by armed conflict. The initiative is based on the notion of "Schools as Zones of Peace,"
which was effective in guaranteeing children's access to education in any nation amid civil
strife. The project's local objectives include creating safe learning settings in times of conflict
and afterward, increasing community and student awareness, and fostering local and national
involvement in safeguarding education. This is one way that nations might go about putting
the Safe Schools Declaration into practice through a bottom-up strategy that also involves
neighborhood schools and communities.Peace and order, safety in public conveyances and
compliance with ordinances afford ample protection and disciplinary measures deserved by
all.
Projects
Of the many concerns that educators express about community engaged teaching and research,
possibly the most frequent is that it takes a lot of precious time. Indeed, it takes significant
amounts of time to develop a productive working relationship with a community partner, to
design projects that meet both learning and community goals, to manage the logistics of the
projects as they unfold, to engage students in special skills training, and to reflect on the
meaningfulness of projects with students.
School and community can create or develop projects/activities that would benefit the
students is really important.Projects that will help them venture another things, to enhance
their creativity and skills not just always having their gadgets all day long.It will improve
their social skills, boost their confidence,it will help them to stay active and many more. It's a
gateway to a healthier, longer life. Students can have a purpose and direction in their lives.
