For safety reasons, unplug the power cord from the mains outlet if you think that you won’t
be using the machine for a long period of time.
Do not put your hand or your fingers between the measuring table and the column as this
can lead to injury.
Take extra care to possible shocks during operation of the machine.
Keep hands or fingers away from the traversing measuring table. Failure to adhere to this
precaution may expose yourself to injury as the Z axis moves down.
The space between the measuring machine and any adjacent object must be large
enough (> 50 cm) in order not to hinder the moving machine axes.
Ensure that the lifting equipment is adequate for the weight of the machine.
Check the belt of the Z axis visually for wear or crack every year. If replacement is
required, ask for a specialist. In any case, let this be done every 10 years.
Install the measuring machine on a solid surface, which must be strong enough to support
the weight of the machine along with all accessories.

3. Installation and cable connections
3.1. On-site installation
Your Optiv Classic 321 GL or Optiv Classic 321 GL tp is an extremely sensitive and highly
accurate measuring machine. Therefore, the machine must be installed on a stable, rigid and
flat (also vibration-free) surface.

Shipping boxes
The measuring machine has been carefully packed for shipment. We recommend to keep
any shipping box for use whenever the machine should be transported at a later date.

Overall dimensions for shipment

Length 170 cm
Width 115 cm
Height 136 cm
Weight (measuring machine + shipping box) 270 kg
Weight (measuring machine) 170 kg

Shipment

The nature of the product being shipped should be taken into account. As stated earlier in
this manual, your Optiv Classic 321 GL or Optiv Classic 321 GL tp is a sensitive machine.
Shocks and vibrations must therefore be avoided during air, road or any other transport.
The carrier should be clearly informed about the precautions to be taken. Transportation and
unloading must be carried out by experienced personnel using appropriate tools.
The shipping box must be carried as close as possible to the installation site of the
measuring machine. This requires at least two people.

Unpacking

Place the pallet as close as possible to the installation surface (worktable, granite plate,
etc.) intended for the measuring machine.
Cut both straps/belts around the shipping box.
Remove the top cover of the shipping box.
Remove the sides of the shipping box.
Take the computer out of its box.
Take the monitor out of its box.
 Remove the watertight protection “Climafoil”.
Loosen the four (4) fastening screws (under the pallet).

Installation

Prepare a stable, rigid and flat surface (worktable, granite plate, etc.) capable to support
the machine’s weight and reasonably high and wide to allow for ease of use. Leave
enough space (at least 50 cm) on all sides of the measuring machine. This will facilitate
the alignment of the machine’s base and the access to all connections of the measuring
machine.
