learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☐ Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to
demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.
(Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing
it via an outside source.)
Lesson idea implementation:

The students will test out items in class, and see the physical changes of the different states of
matter. They will use a hand-on approach by bringing in water bottles, assessing how they are
frozen, and when they aren’t. Students can create a tool such as Procreate where they can draw
changes of matter from their point of view. Lastly, we’ll end on making sure they know several
different types of items that fall in each category.
Managing student learning:  This tool can give the shyer learner, a fun and interactive way to record
their thoughts in private, but still be an active voice in the classroom. Students will have centers
where they discuss the material, workout their reservations, and gain clarity.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: Be sure to mention one specific UDL principle you
are focused on in this lesson – Multiple Means of Engagement, Multiple Means of Representation,
or Multiple Means of Action & Expression.

This activity definitely stands are Multiple Means of Representation, this lesson is meant to assist the
average learner. Through catching their Engagement and Representation I’d day the kids will thrive
with this content.
Reflection:
Using the podcast, it’s opened another pocket of learning for children, through the content, and the
convenience. This method has taught us learning is more than just reading a book, or doing the
same process over and over. We must knock down the door of endless learning.
