which are probably new to students. Let them
guess the meaning of these words.
D. Explain
Discuss the concept of context clues and its types-
Explanation and Cause and Effect.
E. Elaborate
With their own list of unfamiliar words, let the
learners write down the ways that will help them
understand their meanings.
F. Evaluate
Give a five-item quiz.

dialogues. Ask them to listen the conversation and
take note of the words that they don’t understand.
D. Explain
Continue to discuss the concept of context clues
and its types - List of Series or Clues and
Inference.
E. Elaborate
Ask the learners select one type of context clue
and apply it in writing their own sentences and
examples.
F. Evaluate
Give a 10-item quiz to the learners. Let the
learners read and figure out the meaning of each
italicized word using context clues.
