EXCAVATION:
General Notes:
a) Contractor shall visit the site and get acquantained with site conditions, nature of soil,
water likely to get collected by runoff or rain and logistics.
b) Contractor shall take all required permissions from the appropriate Authorities for
excavation, blasting, carting away materials etc as applicable.
c) Contractor shall, based on his information in (a) above plan appropriate dewatering
system as deemed fit for the nature of soil, and other precautionary measures during the
excavation and construction. The contractor shall submit the method statement for
dewatering to the Engineer for approval.
d) Dewatered water/ slush shall be drained out by suitable means through authorised
water outlets, including obtaining the permissions of Authorities.
e) Contractor shall take all necessary steps to ensure that the slopes of the excavated pit are
safe at all times.The Contractor shall design appropriate slope protection system and shall
obtain Engineer's approval, and shall take all precautions not to damage or disturb the
retention system. In case any damages occur for any reasons what-so-ever the Contractor
shall make good such damages.

h) Contractor shall do necessary shoring, shuttering with approved timber/steel accessories


wherever necessary, as approved by the Engineer.
i) Contractor shall take the contour levels jointly with the Engineer and shall obtain prior
written approval before starting any excavation/ filling at every 3 / 5 m grids for arriving at
the actual quantity as described by the Engineer. He shall submit jointly signed " Original
Ground Level (OGL) " records to the Engineer.
j) Measurement for Excavation carried out by manual appliances using various
attachments such as bucket or rock breaker or chisel shall be done based on the plan area
of the PCC. Payments shall be made on the volume of earth computed with PCC plan area
and levels taken before and after excavation in the area. Any slope / shotcreting / guniting
required by the contractor shall not be paid.
k) Contractor shall make sure that his vehicles / plant / machinery do not make the roads
dirty by making appropriate arrangement for washing / cleaning of the wheels.

Excavation: General excavation by manually means in all types of soil including dense
soil, filled up earth, disintegrated / weathered / soft rock.

Supply and Laying of 150mm thick Boulder Soling Stone below floor excavated area SMT 1000
with approved quality 100 to 150 mm size well packed and correct to level, interstices
filled with 40 mm jelly , wet mix or stone spalls. The surface shall be consolidated
manually after spreading good quality quarry dust up to 33 1/3 % by volume of soling
metal and through watering. The consolidated thickness of soling shall be 150 mm
thick.Compacting with vibratory roller 8 -10 to achieve the density not less than 99% of
maximum dry density (modified proctor density) including cost of material, machinery,
labour, loading, unloading, lead, lift etc., complete as per drawing, Technical
Specifications and as directed by Engineer-incharge.

Supply and Laying concrete pavers of approved quality, colour and make laid to the SMT 1000 1000
required pattern as directed with the following :
a. Prepare the sub base to the required line and level.
b. Providing and laying sand bed of 50mm thick and compacting to the required level.
c.Laying heavy duty concrete pavers of crushing strength not less than 35N/MM2,
approved type (60 mm thick), make, quality and colour laid to the pattern as directed by
EIC.
3 d. Vibrating the pavers to the final level.
e. Brushing sand into the joints and compact the block to its final level.

4 Curb Stone Work


Suppy and Installation of precast RCC mountable form finish curb by using M20 grade RMT 100 100
concrete of size 600mm x525mmx 200mm high (50mm at top and 150mm at base from
road surface upto a depth of 150mm) including finishing neatly with necessary
champering, excavation, sub-base mortar, pointing etc., complete as detailed in drawing
and as directed by Project Manager. The cost should be including steel reinforcement. Rate
to be quoted including PCC bed .

complete as detailed in drawing and as directed by Project Manager. The cost should be
including steel reinforcement. Rate to be quoted including PCC bed Make- Shoba.After
installation of existing curbstones balance qty needs to be supply as directed by

9 Applying of reflective Thermoplastic Road Marking Material Supply of Asian


Thermoplastic Material paint for pedestrian walkway Markings as per the existing marking
and may be applied by hand-screeding, hand propelled machine or by self-propelled
machine as approved or directed by the Engineer. After transfer to the laying apparatus the
material shall be maintained within the temperature range specified by the manufacturer
and stirred to maintain the right consistency for laying. In the case of screeded application,
material shall be laid to a thickness of not less than 3 mm or more than 6 mm, unless
specifically authorised by the Engineer. In all cases, the surface produced shall be uniform,
appreciably free from Bubbles and streaks. Straight edges and templates shall be used if
required by the Engineer.Where applicable the Ballotini (glass beads) shall be applied to
the surface of the thermoplastic immediately application is complete and shall be applied
in a controlled manner by use of a spreading device which will permit an even spread from
a fixed height of between 300mm and 400mm or otherwise as the Manufacturer may
recommend. (A wheel mounted, variable width, funnel applicator may be suitable). Rate
