REPORT

ACADEMIC YEAR 2013-2014:

Venue: Sai Baba Ashram, KhederesweraPeta, Vijayawada
Beneficiary: Little children who go to different government schools
SAI BABA CHILDREN ORPHANAGE
This project aims in encouraging their enthusiasm and creativity in the children
by organizing different extra-curricular activities.

There are 22 children of various age groups who are staying in the ashram. The
event started with a small introductory session followed by a drawing competition.
Programs like dancing, singing and many games were conducted to children in
association with volunteers. The children showed great interest in these activities and
enjoyed them a lot which was reflected through smiles on their faces.

The winners of the drawing competition were given water color sets as a token
of appreciation. The event ended with the distribution of notebooks, chocolates, biscuits
and pencil boxes to all the children.

Overall, the event was a great success and volunteers had a great time with the children.

Awareness of Traffic Rules
Beneficiary: By this event the children of the government school came to know the rules
and regulations of the traffic. Here the event helps the children to know how the traffic
is managed and how police is controlling the traffic and also how to follow traffic rules
by walking, driving and moving on the roads .They also came to know how accidents
are occurring due to carelessness of pedestrians .

Web Description: The event was held at Sri Kallam Venkata Reddy ZPHS. The
inspector of Tadepalli gave his support by explaining the traffic rules and creating the
awareness of the traffic to the children. He explained the traffic rules clearly which are
useful to them. He also explained various factors which are responsible for road
accidents.

Blood Donation Camp


This camp was organized on 08/01/2014 by KLU by C.E.A and Department of
Bio Technology. Lions Blood Bank came forward for organizing this event. Around 65
Volunteers and Faculty In charges participated in the programme. There was immense
response for this activity with more than 327 students from KLU have opted donated
blood.

World No Smoking Day
KLU-CEA oberseved World No Smoking Day programme on 03rd December
2014. In this programme we have given publicity on World No Smoking, World No
Smoking Day in Vaddeswaram. We have distributed pamphlets in main centers of
villagers. We pasted wall posters in Panchayati Offices. Nearly 39 members CEA
Volunters are organized the event.

Technology Oriented Teaching


KLU-CEA organized an event called "awareness in technologies". The main idea of
this event to tell about the simple technologies which we are using in our daily life to the school
children and to create some interest towards the pratical knowledge.

Science Exhibition
KLU-C.E.A On 16th March 2014.CEA students helped the science fare to conduct
various events, like essay writing science drama for school children’s.

PUZZLE MANIA
KLU-CEA organised Puzzle Mania programme on 16th & 17th March 2014 in Z.P. High
School Vaddeswaram. The event has been started in the afternoon session. This event is
conducted as a part of New Year celebrations. We have decided to conduct a fun event in the
government schools for 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th class students. At first hour CEA volunteers distributed
the chits randomly according to that each student will be given a puzzle to solve. We conducted
two levels. In first level they will be given a groups10 minutes of time and we selected some
of the students. Level 2 is conducted for selected students. We selected top 3 members in 6th &
7th .and top 3 in 8th & 9th .we distributed gifts to the winners. Puzzle Mania event beneficiary
to help students to think reasoning ability will be improved may obtain time managing
capabilities. In this programme CEA Event Incharge (Ravali) and CEA volunteers distributed
scales, arisers, pencils and Jamantry boxes to the students.

AWARENESS PROGRAM FOR CONSTRUCTION
We the team CEA (Centre for Extension Activities) from K.L.UNIVERSITY,
The purpose of the Safety Awareness Training Program Standard is to establish a
minimum Safety for the people who are working in construction department. For this
the programme the members of CEA interacted with the higher officials and made an
PPT. we gather all the peoples at one place and by using the power point presentation
and photo, and videos, we explained to them.

Topics in the awareness program

a) Provide workers with knowledge and comprehension of occupational health and


safety that will enable them to recognize common hazards on construction projects and
provide a basic understanding of how these hazards may be eliminated or controlled;

d) Assist workers in recognizing when safe work measures and procedures are
necessary to protect the health and safety of workers to prevent illnesses, injuries and
facilities in construction.

Common High Hazards on Construction Projects:

a) Identify sources of electrical energy that could be found on a construction project.


i. Power cords
ii. Overheard power lines
iii. Generators
iv. Exposed wires
v. damaged insulation on electrical cables/power lines.
b) Recognize hazards of working at heights.
i. Unprotected edges
ii. Missing, defective or inadequate guardrails
iii. Unprotected openings in floors, roofs or other work surfaces
iv. Falls into water or another liquid
v. Falls into or onto operating machinery or hazardous substances.
c) Give examples of the hazards associated with working in proximity to Vehicles
i. Being struck by mobile equipment or the load
ii. Being pinned between or crushed against mobile equipment or another surface
iii. Electric shock and electrocution due to electrical contact with buried or overhead
power lines.
iv. Adhering to traffic protection plans, barriers and route controls
v. making eye contact and signalling intentions to the operators and signallers
vi. having knowledge and awareness of blind spots, using one example of mobile
equipment and vehicles used on a construction project
vii. Using high-visibility clothing.

Health Camp

As a part of Social Responsibility our KLU - Center for Extension Activities and
EEE department conducted Health Camp in Pedavadlapudi Village on 31/01/2014.
Around 32 student volunteers have participated in the program. The Head Mmaster of
High school, Revendrapadu initiated the programme; we explained importance of
maintaining good health and how to be healthier through our food intake and from our
surroundings to 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th, standard students. Later we moved to
pedavadlapudi village and in primary school we gave various tips and suggestions
children’s how to be a healthy person.

HELPING IN PRIMARY EDUCATION IN SURROUNDING
RURAL AREAS FOR CHINDREN AND WOMEN
These days where ever we go, where ever we stay, where ever we need to survive
we basically need to know about what is happening around us and what is going on
around .all these can be known only when each and every child will learn things from
their childhood. in order to survive in this technological world children should know
and should have minimum knowledge about what is happening and should have
primary education which helps them to survive anywhere on their own .

Here we members of “CEA” are ready to help the rural areas to get a better
education regarding the present day technology and to get a basic and primary education
for them which will make tomorrow’s world .this is a step taken to develop the children
and women in rural areas to develop themselves and trying to develop them in such a
way that they are ready to compete with the present days competitive world.
