Recognize that some words may have the same (synonyms) or opposite (antonyms)
meaning.
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to;
a. Identify whether the words are Synonyms or antonyms.
b. Write words that have the same (synonyms) or opposite (antonyms) meaning.
c. Work cooperatively with the group.

First, let’s talk about synonyms

What is Synonyms?
Synonyms - are words whose meaning is
the same as that of another word.

For example;
The girl is pretty.
The girl is beautiful.
The child has flowers.
The kid has flowers.
The boy is happy.
The boy is glad.

What is Antonyms?
Antonyms - are words that means the
opposite of another word.
Word Antonyms

hot cold
clean dirty
small big
There is a sun during the day and a moon
during the night.

The coffee is hot while an ice cream is

cold.
The hand are dirty while the feet is clean.

The mouse is small while the elephant is


big.

Now let’s use the things we can found here


in our classroom and in our community.
