2. Adverbs of Time – tell us when an action happened, but also for how long, and
how often.
Examples:
For how long: all day, not long, for a while, since last year
Another Examples:
Yesterday morning, Maria and Jenny went to buy some things in the market.
When did Maria and Jenny go to buy something in the market?
Yesterday morning is an adverb of time that answers the question “when”.
3. Adverbs of Manner – tell how something is done.
- It answers the question “how”. Most adverbs of manner are formed from
adjectives by adding ly.

Adverbs are an important part of a language because they express how an action
(a verb) is done. When we want to describe how often the action is done, we need to
use adverbs of frequency.
