    AN ORDER REORGANIZING THE BARANGAY NUTRITION COMMITTEE (BNC)


    OF BARANGAY CALABACA

    WHEREAS, the BARANGAY NUTRITION COMMITTEE will perform its duties and
    responsibilities to ensure that health and nutrition program shall be prioritize and included on its
    Barangay Development Plan and Annual Investment Plan.

    WHEREAS, Malnutrition is seriously affecting millions of people

    WHEREAS, malnutrition retards mental and physical development of our children, weaken
    their resistance to infections resulting in unnecessary loss of human lives through high infant and
    child mortality rates;

    WHEREAS, coordination has proven to be of great value in integrating the food and nutrition
    efforts of various concerned individuals in our Barangay level;

    WHEREAS, under Presidential Decree No. 491 which is the Nutrition Act of the Philippines, a
    National Nutrition Council was created to be the highest policy making and coordinating body on
    nutrition;

    WHEREAS, with the assumption to office of the newly elected barangay officials, there is a
    need to reorganize all barangay special bodies specifically the Barangay Nutrition Committee;
    WHEREAS, the BARANGAY NUTRITION COMMITTEE shall compose of:

    WHEREAS, the functions, duties, and responsibilities of BARANGAY NUTRITION COMMITTEE


    are as follows:

    1. Formulate the BARANGAY NUTRITION ACTION PLAN and implement local food and
    nutrition policies, plan, and interventions for nutrition improvement at the Barangay
    level.
    2. Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the BNAP.
    3. Identify and mobilize local resources for nutrition interventions.
    4. Prioritize those nutrition specific programs under PPAN 2017-2022 such as Maternal,
    Infant and Young Child Feeding, Integrated Management on Acute Malnutrition,
    Micronutrient Supplementation, Mandatory Food Fortification, Overweight and Obesity
    Management and Prevention Program, National Dietary Supplementation, Growth and
    Monitoring to children aged 0-59 months and nutrition sensitive programs.
    5. Advocate for local support for nutrition plan to sustain health and nutrition
    improvement.
    WHEREAS, the functions, duties, and responsibilities of BARANGAY NUTRITION COMMITTEE
    are as follows:

    1. Organize and lead a planning core group the BNC to formulate the BNAP with the help of
    Barangay Kagawad on Health.
    2. Ensure the implementation of nutrition plans, programs and projects under the
    Nutrition Action Plan anchored to PPAN 2017-2022.
    3. Coordinate and supervise in the monitoring and evaluation at the Barangay level.
    4. Prepare the necessary requirement needed for the quarterly, regular meetings,
    assessment and presentations.
    5. Coordination with inter-agency office regarding health and nutrition such as MSWDO,
    MAO, DepEd and MHO.
    6. Submit reports to the Municipal Nutrition Action Officer/Nutrition Officer.
    7. Keep BNC minutes of meetings and documentation reports.

    WHEREAS, the BARANGAY NUTRITION ACTION OFFICER is under direct supervision of


    Barangay Captain.

    WHEREAS, the BARANGAY NUTRITION COMMITTEE will coordinate with Municipal,


    Provincial and Regional Health and Nutrition Office, Provincial DOH Offices on its program
    implementation.

    NOW, THEREFORE, I, Hon. Dioscoro P. Glim Jr., Punong Barangay of Barangay Calabaca,
    Capalonga Camarines Norte, do hereby order the reorganization of BNC.

    RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved “REORGANIZING OF THE BARANGAY NUTRITION


    COMMITTEE OF THIS BARANGAY”

    RESOLVED FURTHER, to submit copies of Executive Order to the office of the


    MNAO/Nutrition Office and DILG (MLGOO) for its reference, perusal and documentation.

    RESOLVED FINALLY, that this EO shall take effect upon its approval.
