The mill shell is of fabricated steel plate design with welded on slide rings. The
slide rings of the mill shell are supported in slide shoe bearings.

required.
Heat treatment of the slide rings with the welded-in rims is allowed for.
The mill feed chute of rockbox design is fabricated from mild steel and is lined
with CrMo cast plates.
The slide ring web at the inlet and mill shell are lined with highly wear-resistant
Cr-Mo steel liners. The cast discharge end assembly (Cr-Mo steel) complete
with grates and pulp lifters is bolted onto the slide ring web on the discharge
end.

feed and discharge end.
The individual slide shoes are lined with white metal and equipped with
temperature sensors which are pre-wired to a terminal box.
The slide-shoe bearing assemblies are protected by a water/oil tight sealed and
dust proof housing of solid welded design.
Seals, base plates and H.D. bolts are included in the scope of supply.
The slide shoe bearing system incorporates a jacking facility. The complete mill
can be held in position with two of the four slide shoes. The unloaded slide
shoes can be withdrawn individually for inspection or maintenance reasons.
1 Girth gear
One girth gear (spur geared) in welded design is bolted on the girth gear flange.
The girth gear flange is welded onto the slide ring at the discharge end.

The COMBIFLEX reducer incorporates three gear stages with a double output
stage. The two self-aligning output pinions of the reducer are directly meshing
with the girth gear. The load sharing between the two output pinions is system
inherent and permanently ensured.
The shafts with bearings are accommodated in a water/oil tight and dust-proof
housing. The reducer housing is directly connected with the bearing housing.

A flexible high speed coupling connects the main motor and the gear box.
The COMBIFLEX drive incorporates a Safeset® Safety Device for a high speed
synchronous motor.
The Safeset® Safety Device is a torque limiting safety coupling. Its main purpose
is to avoid catastrophic failure or destruction in the case of overload of the drive
line, which can result in injuries or unexpected and expensive downtime of the
entire system. A shear ring cuts off a shear tube and thereby protects the
system from overload; bearings prevent the contact of friction surfaces. Special
oil used in the pressure surface and bearing areas guarantees a constant
coefficient of friction and thereby high release accuracy. As opposed to break-off
element couplings, the release torque is not influenced by material fatigue. The
Safeset® can be returned into operation after a minimum of delay by replacing
the shear tube and reapplying the pressure
Two Safeset® couplings included complete with bearings, seals and gear
coupling.
One Service Box is included and comes complete with high-pressure hydraulic
pump, pressure relief valve, Safeset® oil, tools and spares.

Paintings
For protection against corrosion the following painting will be applied:
All inner surfaces lined with refractory and equipment manufactured of stainless
steel shall not be painted.
A subsequent painting of piping and all other parts, whose painting has suffered
during transport, storage and erection work is not included in the scope of our
performance.
Our proposal is based on normal plant planning and handling of order as cus-
tomary over-here.
