LISTEN TO A SONG
Everybody loves music and they like to know more about their favourite musicians.
In this lesson, you are going to listen to a song and review it.
Pay attention to the following things:
 Lyrics.
 Sound effects.
 Pace.
 Rhythm.
 Rhyme.
Class Activity
1. What is the song about?
2. What type of a song is this? Is it Hip-Hop, Gospel, Pop etc.?
3. Did you enjoy the song? Why or why not? Give reasons.
4. What special sound effects has the composer or musician used?
5. Describe the pace or rhythm of the song. Is it a dance song or is it a sombre
song?
6. Would you add this song to your playlist or music collection? Write down your
answer and explain it.

Class activity
Mondays are usually hated by all working people. You were requested to give tips to your
co- workers on how to beat the Monday Blues.

INSTRUCTIONS
1. List SEVEN things employees can do to beat Monday Blues in full sentences,
using not more than 70 words.
2. Your summary must be written in point form.
3. Number your sentences from 1 to 7.
4. Write only ONE point per sentence.
5. Use your OWN words as far as possible.
Indicate the total number of words you have used in brackets at the end of your summary.

Finders Keepers – Chapter 2
Summary
• On her first day of school, Lufuno meets a new friend, Noki.
• Noki shows Lufuno how to stand up to a group of dropouts which harasses her on the way
to school.
• Sindi bullies Lufuno. Sindi is jealous that Lufuno is getting attention from Mandla, the
handsome star of the soccer team, and also a chief ’s son.
• Some other learners also tease Lufuno about her dark skin and her Venda heritage.
• Sindi pushes Lufuno over. Lufuno’s bracelet falls. Mandla picks up the bracelet and keeps
it. He says, ‘Finders keepers.’

4. What grade is Lufuno and Noki in?
5. Explain what happened to Lufuno on her first day at her new school?

Future Tense
In grammar, the future tense is the verb form you use to talk about things that haven't
happened yet.

 When you say, "The party will be so fun!" "will be" is in the future tense.
 Whenever you write or talk about things that you expect to happen later, you use the
future tense.

Examples – Future Tense


 I am going to be successful.
 She'll write the e-mail after lunch.
 Don't lift that. You'll hurt yourself.
 I'll see you tomorrow.
