SIEI-AREG GmbH can not make any guarantees relating to the translation.
ERN For rotor position encoder ERN 1387 Sine/cosine signals Incremental encoder with
synchronous motor type SR as commutation signals sine/cosine signals
Master-operation impossible,
only one encoder
If a (Multiturn)-absolute-rotation-encoder should be used at the own drive, take type EQN 1325 in combination
with the component-variant S .
The decision, which encoder can be used, depends on the sphere of use and should be made together with SIEI
AREG.

Galvanic isolations :
- The potential of control in- and outputs (without relay switching contacts) is according to DIN VDE 0160
- The unit is isolated according to protective class No. 1.
- If connecting a computer to the serial interface an additional adapter according to DIN VDE 0160 is
required.
Vibrations that exceed the values mentioned in DIN VDE 0160 section 7.2.2 can damage the control unit. These
vibrations have to be avoided !
Control Control
Mains Motor Mains Motor
unit unit
Crucial point :
A correct installation of the control unit with any possible local interference suppression measures to suppress
or minimize mutual interference.
z The following notes refer to a mains power supply that is not "polluted" by high frequency interference.
Other measures may be necessary to reduce or suppress interference if the mains voltage is "polluted".
No generally valid recommendations can be given in such cases. Please consult with SIEI AREG
if all recommended interference suppression measures do not produce the desired result.
Fundamental :
The active surface of the cable, not the diameter is important for high frequency interference suppression.
control cabinet
remove paint For the control unit and all interference suppression components mounted onto
metal (control board, control cabinet, etc.) the contact should be extensive (skin-
effect).
extensive contact
of the shield To ensure a good and extensive contact remove the paint.
cable with shield
Use a central earth point for interference suppression (e.g. equipotential bonding strip or central at the PE-stud).
Starting from this point the earth cables are led radial to the respective connections.
Conductor loops of the earthing are inadmissible, it can cause unnecessary influencings.
Do not taper the cross section of the shield when connecting the shield on cables leading further. A taper of the
diameter would generate a high frequency resistance that would not discharge but emit the high frequency
energy.
No contacts of shields via PIN-contacts of plug-in connectors, especially of control cables. For this use the
metallic case of the plug-in connector for an extensive connection of the shield.
z The interplay of several units can require further measures. A final statement about the compliance with
the limits only can be made by measuring the finished machine or system because the compliance with
the limits depends on the installation and combination with other units and the field of application. The CE-
sign will be issued only for the complete machine or system, therefore the measurements are in the
responsibility of the designer.

There are different types of in- and output signals :
- Analoge in- and outputs :
range ± 10 V, not potential separated, ground reference terminal ⊥ (analoge-ground)
- input especially for motor temperature detector (PTC or switch)
- relay outputs
- opto-electronic potential separated in- and outputs for digital signals with 24 V SPS-level

Chipcard
- A chipcard enables a flexible configuration and an easy re-configuration, i.e. system-specific parameters
can be transmitted into a standard control unit in a simple way.
- Factory-delivered chipcards are empty. Take care not to overwrite self-loaded cards !
- There are also factory-loaded chipcards with a special dataset. This dataset can not be overwritten (write
protection on the card).
Important Remark
- During the data transfer no terminal or PC should be connected with RS 232 interface.
Transfer data
VeCon-Chip EEPROM RAM in handterminal
Controller automatic
reset transfer when receiving
To send data and to receive data from or to the hand-held terminal always means to write a complete
parameterset. This enables the 1 : 1 transmission of actual parametersets into other control units or preserving
them onto chipcards (chipcard-library).
Occurring faults during transmission are described in chapter 9.
The direction of transfer can be selected in menusection "saving data", submenu "transfer data in handterminal",
parameter "transmission aim".
If the parameterset of a write-protected factory-loaded chipcard was written into the EEPROM of the hand-held
terminal, it is also write-protected in the EEPROM. To cancel the write-protection transfer the contents of an
empty chipcard into the EEPROM of the hand-held terminal.
