I) QUALITY CONTROL AT SITE:

 Synchronizing with Project Manager/Construction Manager and discipline engineer on all quality
related activities of the contract with focus on safeguarding the compliance of PQP, QA/QC
Procedures, work Instructions & QC Plans and all these are available at the relevant locations.
 Ensuring strict adherence towards conducting processes at all stages in accordance with contract
specifications during the execution of the contract through the discipline inspectors (QC).
 Investigating on all construction activities such as Excavation, Backfilling, Concreting, & Heavy
Water retaining structure works and monitoring Water Proofing, Water Tightness Test, Epoxy
Coating activities for the tanks.
 Review & verify Project related drawings & specifications approved for construction.
 Inspection of all the works as per the latest drawings and co-ordinate with consultant and get the
approval from the consultant for the further activities.
 Checking for slump & Temperature of concrete at site, casting & Testing of cubes in site laboratory &
send to external laboratory for testing, receiving and reviewing of reports and submitting to clients.
 Conducting a Hydro test for Pressure pipe lines & Air test for Non pressure pipelines and prepare a
test reports and get approval from the consultant.
 Prepare Checklist for all works and get the approval from the Consultant/Clients and maintain the
records.
 Ensure that the Supervisors understand the requirements of the Works Method Statement,
specifications, drawings and Inspection and Tests Plan.
 Maintain liaison between the project team, consultants and subcontractors to solve quality issues.
 Educate the project team, subcontractors on the Project Quality Plan as to ensure all parties of the
project are fully aware and understand the operational procedures and the project contractual quality
requirements.
 Identify document non conformities, communicate the non- conformance to the concerned personnel.
 Periodic calibration of Inspection, measuring and testing Equipment’s / Instruments and maintaining
related records.
 Inspect the Structural works and ensure the structural members and bolts are within the limits.
 Inspect the Fire Proofing work and ensure the work is going on as per the approved method
statements and the materials using are approved.
 Final inspections of a completed product & preparation of snag list and Compilation of project related
Test Packs / Quality Control dossiers.
 Monitor and report the achievement of the company Quality Objectives.
 Ensure that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are taken to address Non-Conformance
Reports (NCRs) and complaints from the Employer / Employer’s representative.
 Implementation of corrective / preventive action in consultation with Project Managers wherever
required.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

II) QUALITY ASSURANCE:

 Prepare the Inspection and Test plans and maintenance of related records and creating general
awareness of QA / QC activities amongst workers at site.
 Distribute the Project Quality Plan to the project team, inclusive of the consultants and subcontractors.
Continually review the Project Quality Plan as to ensure its effectiveness.
 Prepare & Review the proposed Works Method Statements and getting the approval from the Clients.
 Conduct the Internal Quality Audits as per the Audit plan to all departments within the projects with
objective to enhance their operational effectiveness and efficiencies.

III) SAMPLING & TESTING OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS:

 Sampling for concrete, Borrow Areas, Embankment, Sub grade, GSBC, WMM, WBM, DBM and BC
as per the Project Specification, BS , ASTM standards .
 Conducting all the testing of Construction materials like Soil , Cement , Bitumen , Aggregates , used
in concrete , Embankment , sub grade , GSBC , WMM , DBM & BC as required by the IS , BS , ASTM
standards and Technical Specification.
 Derivation of Mix Design for CONCRETE , GSBC , WMM , DBM , BC , Mix Seal surfacing , Open
Graded Premix carpet , Seal Coat , etc…. as per the specification and the suitability of aggregate
availability at site.
 Conducting the Proctor Density test and Field Density test for compacted soil as per BS & ASTM
standards.
 Conducting the Field Density test for compacted soil as per the IS , BS , ASTM standards using Sand
Replacement method, Nuclear Density gauge method.
 Conducting the Field density test for DBM & BC using CORE CUTTER method as per IS , BS ,
ASTM standards.
 Prepare the Calibration plan & conducting calibration for all equipment’s at correct time.
 Conducting the Calibration of WMM plant, Batching plant, DBM plant , Weighing Batch at regular
interval.
 Preparing the Cubes & Testing of Cubes and all test for Concrete , Coarse & Fine aggregate used in
Concrete as per the IS , BS , ASTM standards & as per required frequencies.
 Maintaining frequency of tests & Documentation as per the requirements of Project Specification.
 Prepare Daily, Weekly, Monthly progress report for the work done in quality control section.

laboratory & send to external laboratory for testing , receiving and reviewing of reports and
