5 VOC Acrylic Urethane Basecoat


Background Application
MBPX is a fast drying, acrylic basecoat designed for Coats
today’s automotive collision centers. For VOC
compliance, MBPX must activated and then 2 coats or until hiding
topcoated with a compliant Omni clear coat. Air pressure

Compatible Substrates Between coats
Cured, cleaned & sanded OEM and refinish enamels
Any compliant Omni primer including: 5 - 10 minutes at 70ºF (21ºC)
Air dry
MP802 Multi-Purpose Primer
MP243 Polyester Primer Tape: 45 minutes
Clear: 20 minutes minimum, 24 hours
maximum at 70ºF (21ºC) to clearcoat

SWX350 O So Clean
SXA330 Wax and Grease Remover Clean Up
Sanding Clean equipment with MR Reducer General purpose
400 grit (machine or dry hand) or 500 grit (wet) on old Solvent. Follow EPA guidelines for proper storage
finishes and primer surfacers and disposal of solvent-borne waste paint.

Note: MBPX may be reduced with half the
reducer to improve hiding. At the 10:5:1 ratio, the
flash times between coats may be extended. For
metallic and pearl colors, the 10:10:1 ratio should
be used for the final coat to improve metallic
control and orientation.

MBPX may be tinted up to 10% with OMNI AU Film build per coat
