3 INSTALLATION
This section provides installation and operating Screws from both outsides of the Frame
instructions for the Universal Banknote Acceptor (See Figure 5).
UBA® Series Recycler Unit. The information

Installation Process
Holes are provided in each Frame Unit to mount the
UBA-RC™ during installation. Select and perform
the following steps to install the UBA-RC™ Unit:
1. When a side mounting configuration is preferred,
bolt the left or right side of the UBA-RC™ Frame

Jumper Configurations
The UBA CPU Board contains three 3.3 Volt DC
(3) Jumper Plugs that are adjacent to one another.
Photo-coupler Isolation and/or RS232C Protocol
selection is configured by these Jumpers. All three
(3) Jumpers must be configured to represent the
same setting when changed (See Figure 8).

Sensor Cleaning Procedure
Perform the following steps to clean the UBA® and
UBA-RC™ Unit’s Sensors:
1. Turn the UBA-RC™ Unit and the Host
Machine’s Power OFF.
2. Open the UBA® Unit’s Transport’s Upper Guide.
3. Pull the Recycler Unit out of the Frame Housing.
4. Clean the Sensors, Lenses and Rollers within the
UBA® Transport Unit, the Recycler Unit and
those located on the Cash Box itself.

Caution: Do not use Alcohol, thinner or


Citrus based products for cleaning any
surfaces. The lenses become clouded
by chemical effect that may cause
acceptance errors.

NOTE: When closing the UBA’s Transport


Unit or the Recycler Unit’s Upper Guides,
ensure they firmly click into place when
closed. Also, when re-assembling the UBA-
RC™ Unit, ensure that it reseats correctly
into place when reassembly is complete.
