I. OBJECTIVES
A. CONTENT The learner demonstrates understanding of: Philippine literature in the Period of

associations; informative speech forms; and use of direct/reported speech,
passive/ active voice, simple past and past perfect tenses, and sentence

B. PERFORMANCE The learner transfers learning by: showing ways of asserting one’s identity;

comprehending informative and short narrative texts using schema and
appropriate listening and viewing strategies; expressing ideas, opinions, and
feelings through various formats; and enriching written and spoken
communication using direct/reported speech, active/passive voice, simple past
and past perfect tenses and connectors correctly and appropriately.

-Essay writing is a form of academic and creative expression in which an
individual presents a coherent and structured set of ideas on a particular topic. It
is a skill that is commonly required in educational settings, ranging from high
school to higher education, and is used to assess a writer's ability to articulate
thoughts, organize information, and communicate effectively.
TIPS ON WRITING AN ESSAY

Generally, in writing an essay, you should:
 decide what kind of essay to write
 brainstorm your topic
 research the topic
 choose a writing style
 develop a thesis
 outline your essay
 write your essay
 edit your writing to check spelling and grammar
 Informative Essay
-An informative essay is a type of academic writing that aims to educate the audience
about a particular topic. The primary goal is to provide information, facts, and details in
a clear and organized manner.
THREE PARTS OF INFORMATIVE ESSAY
1. Introduction:
Definition: The beginning of the essay where you grab the reader's attention,
provide background information on the topic and state the main idea or
purpose in a thesis statement.
2. Body Paragraphs:
Definition: The middle section of the essay contains multiple paragraphs,
each focused on a specific aspect of the topic. These paragraphs present facts,
examples, and evidence to support the thesis statement.
3. Conclusion:
Definition: The final section of the essay where you summarize the key
points discussed in the body paragraphs, restate the thesis differently, and
offer final thoughts or implications related to the topic. The conclusion
provides closure to the essay.
