    LEARNING ENGLISH THROUGH SONGS

    Salam sayang,
    Using song is one of the best way to teach English,
    but when you pick the right and enjoyable song for the students.Don't use the song just because
    you like it,but use it because they love it.
    Here are some songs that my students love,and really works!

    1.Umbrella.
    I've used it to introduce the theme Friendship.
    For Form 1, I 've done the activity related to the 'pronunciationof 'p' and 'b' ' and also the
    'personal pronouns'.

    For Form 4 ,I'd just use it to give them ideas on how to be a good friend,just to trigger their
    minds for the next activity.-role play.

    Owh,not to forget,be careful when you use this song.Some of your students may go further 'into'
    the song.Make sure you explain clearly the objective of using this song.One of my student had
    'bumped' me with the Illuminati and Freemansionary stuff..well,Thank God I've read a lot about
    those stuff!

    2.Kappa Mikey Theme Song

    One of the popular song you can hear when you watch TV9.
    Form 1 students,they can enjoy the song,but if they don't like the cartoon,it doesn't matter.
    I've used it to teach Simple Present Tense.

    3.Trough My Window
    The most enjoyable song ever for my Form 4 students.They're familiar with it and it's not so hard
    to get them to enjoy the song.Good for teaching Subject Verb Agreement,Present Tense,Verb to
    be and contractions.

    4.The Mum's song.


    Use it to replace the Jazz Chant in the textbook.I've used this to teach them sentence pattern of
    giving command ,and asking someone to do something politely.This is also very suitable to teach
    them Verbs.

    So,that's all for ow.I'll upate more later.Thinking about using 21 Guns,as my 4Gamma genk had
    requested.But I have to study the song first.Lotsa symbols and meaning in that song.But I'm sure
    I'll use it..Just wait!Have to edit the video first.I can't show the Original video in school! Wanna
    get sue huh?Hehe
