Reflection - Letter H
In the beginning I greet students and I open my camera so they can be more attention and
focus with me I introduce myself to the students and I start my lesson. My camera was open all
the time, so I never lose their attention. My MST always turn her camera on, so I think this is a
great tip to hook the students that’s why I follow her stop. In order to make them ready and
excited I play the song wake up it’s a very good song it’s have a exercising move out and find a
way so I start my lesson with that.
After greeting the students by I read the classroom rules, after that I asked them about the date
and the day and they answered very well what’s surprise me the most that they also know the
month October which is very is surprisingly to me for KG one student.
After that we move on to review the sound of letters the students were very excellent and they
actually remember all of the sounds, however of course it’s not all of the students but most of
the class did. Then we review the sounds of letters individually we start with a, I sing with them
ants on an apple a a a. And I did the same with the rest of the letters.
Then we move on to the sound of the lesson which is H. First, I present the letter for them then
I show how to write the capital H and the small H. After that I asked students to write use their
fingers to write the letter on the air, I did the same. After that I asked them to bring their
notebooks are their whiteboards to write the letter, I gave them about 45 seconds, and they
finished by that time.
After that we review the site words and we use the words I/can/see/the/ to make a sentence.
I was very surprised that KG 1 students are able to read these words I never taught KG 1 so I
don’t know what level of knowledge they can be.
I present some wards with the letter H for example house, horse, hat, Hannah, hen. And
students should use the site words to make a sentence with these words so we made a
sentence like I can’t see the horse. I can see the house.
After that we move on to our team which is animals, the song was about a cat so before playing
this song I said to the students KG be attention for the song because I will ask you about what
animal did you see in the song. When does song finish I ask them what animal did you see in
the song and all of the students said cat, which is right.
After that I showed them some pictures for animals like cat, rat, bat, that end with the same
sound. And what really surprise me that they said rat I was thinking they may say mouse, this
shows that they get the idea of repeating the last sound of the word cat.
At the end of the lesson I thank my MST and I thank the students also and they were very happy
me as well I think it’s a very interesting and good experience to teach KG 1 students, I was very
very happy when they said thank you Miss Huda at the end of the class if feels good that they
know me and remember my name. I am happy with my presentation, but I know I can make it
even better next times.
The problem I face was to share my presentation I tried to request to present but somehow it
doesn’t work for me I think I will watch some videos on YouTube to know how I can use teams
better. My MST was my biggest supporter I am very thankful and grateful for her.
