Title: Verification of the law of combination of resistance.

Objectives : To study the characteristic of resistance connected in series
 Compare the measured value with calculated value or resistor connected in
series.
 Verify the same current flowing through all resistors that are connected in
series.
 Verify the voltage is added for resistors connected in series.
Apparatus: Digital multimeters(2), DC Power supplies, 0-15v(2), resistors and connecting
Wires(3), circuit board(1) .
Procedure:-
 Record the resistance of three resistors ( R1,R2 & R3) determined by
measurement .
 Construct a series circuit with these resistors.
 Measuring the equivalent resistance Req. of the circuit by connecting the
terminals of multimeter a cross the beginning of R1 and end R3. Then
compare your measurement value with the determined y the equation Req =
R1 + R2 + R3
 Connect the power supply, using the multimeter measure the potential
differences across all the resistance and the current following in the circuit.
Then apply ohms law ( R = V/I)
 Measure the potential difference a cross each of the resistor and the
potential difference. Do they add up to the voltage across the power supply?
 Calculate: a ) Experimental value Req = ____ohm.
b) Theoretical value of Req = ___ohm.
c) difference
Data Observation

Trial No Current Potential difference Req = V/I
