ADMISSION AGAINST VACANT SEATS
2-year B.Ed. Course: Session 2024- 2025

It may please be noted that


 The waiting lists are provisional and are subject to:
 the fulfilling of the eligibility criteria as notified earlier.
 the verification of the equivalence of marks/degree from other universities to those of
this university, where applicable.
 correction in the merit position due to error, if any.
 An applicant shall not be considered for admission, even if he/she is provisionally selected
for admission if at the time of counselling/admission and verification of marks, it is found
by the university authority that
 s/he does not satisfy the eligibility criteria.
 If an applicant is found to have entered incorrect marks in his/her on-line application form,
his/her rank position in the selection/merit list provided below shall be revised and corrected
accordingly on the basis of actual marks obtained in the examination concerned.
 A student who is a registered scholar for Ph.D in this university or any other
university is not eligible for admission to the B.Ed course.
 All admissions are provisional.
 Candidates who have already been admitted to any autonomous college/institution or
college/institution affiliated to other universities and pursuing any regular day course at
present, shall be required to submit an affidavit (at the time of counselling/admission) that
s/he will be de-registering from that course. Proof of application of
de-registration/cancellation from the course concerned must be submitted within 15 days of
admission, failing of which her/his admission will be cancelled. Subsequently,
cancellation/migration certificate from the institution concerned should be submitted.
 Candidates who have completed their highest degree in 2023 or before but have NOT
taken admission in any regular day course, must submit an affidavit (on a Non-Judicial
Stamp Paper) at the time of counselling/admission that they are not registered in any other
regular day course anywhere/elsewhere, failing of which her/his admission will be
cancelled.

 An applicant under Deputed Category shall not be considered for admission, even if
he/she is provisionally selected for admission, if at the time of admission and verification of
marks and relevant documents, it is found by the university authority that s/he does NOT
fulfil the eligibility criteria and is NOT teaching in class V to XII
Such an applicant teaching in a Secondary/ Higher Secondary school affiliated to
W.B.B.S.E./ W.B.C.H.S.E. must produce a copy of the appointment letter from the
District Inspector of Schools and a No Objection Certificate from the Managing
Committee of the school duly countersigned by the District Inspector of Schools.
The Managing Committee must clearly certify whether or not the teacher teaches
in class V to XII.

 SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PD quota as per Sate Govt. rules.
 No separate intimation will be sent to individual candidate.
 Candidates will be required to produce the followings at the time of documents
verification and admission:

 A print out of the on-line application.


 3 (three) recent passport size photographs.
 All original marksheets, certificates including SC/ST/PD/OBC-A/OBC-B
certificates from competent authorities in the names of the candidates
themselves, where applicable.
 The original madhyamik admit card/certificate (for age verification).
 Candidates admitted under OBC A/B categories must submit a Non-Creamy
Layer (NCL) certificate. The certificate should not be issued earlier than one
year from the date of advertisement.
 Candidates admitted under OBC A/B categories must submit an undertaking
on a Rs.10/- non-judicial Stamp paper, stating that their admission will be
revoked if their OBC certificate becomes invalid in future. (Click here)
 Self-attested copies of all marksheets, certificates, madhyamik admit card/
certificate are to be submitted at the time of document verification.
 Parents/guardian's income certificate issued by the employer with office seal for
the employed person and for others by a gazetted officer.
 If the provisionally selected candidate has completed his/her highest degree
(BA/B.Sc/M.A./M.Sc/M.Phil, whichever is applicable) in 2023 or before: An
affidavit (in non-Judicial stamp paper) that he/she is not registered in any other
day-course anywhere/elsewhere
 Anti Ragging Undertaking by student and his/her Parent/ Guardian (CLICK
HERE).
 If applied under the Deputed category, the teachers from secondary/ higher
secondary schools affiliated to W.B.B.S.E/ W.B.C.H.S.E must produce
(I) a copy of the appointment letter from the District Inspector of Schools
(II) a No Objection Certificate from the Managing Committee of the school
duly countersigned by the District Inspector of Schools. The Managing
Committee must clearly certify whether or not the teacher teaches in class V to
XII, at the time of interview and admission.
Jadavpur university will not take the responsibility of disbursement of
deputation allowance.

Date of vefirication/admission:
22/10/2024 at 2.00 pm at Prof. Anita Banerjee Memorial Hall U.G. Arts
Buildings, Jadavpur University.

If a candidate fails to appear on the specified date and time for verification/
admission, the next candidate in order of merit will be considered for admission.
The candidate absent on the above mentioned dates, will also NOT be

considered for admission against vacancy (if at all) at a later date. The process
will continue till the vacant seats are filled up. The rest of the candidates are
advised to record their attendance.

Note:
As per circular Nos. BC-16014/1/82-SC dt.06/08/1984 & BCD-1, D.O.12017/11/89-
SCD(R.CELL) dt.09/01/1990 and 1465–BCW/MR–67/10 dt.30/04/2010 from the Government of
West Bengal, Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes of the states other than West Bengal are not
entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in educational institutions in West Bengal, unless
they can produce a domicile certificate of 10-year residency issued by competent authority.
The candidates who will be provisionally selected under the OBC- A and OBC- B categories
must produce an OBC certificate (the date of issue of the certificate should not be earlier than
September 2023) issued by the competent authority that clearly indicates (i) the category (A or
B) they belong to; (ii) that they do not belong to creamy layer of the society, at the time of
counselling/ admission.
OBC-A and OBC-B candidates of the states other than West Bengal are not entitled to get
the benefit of reserved quota in educational institutions in West Bengal, unless they can
produce a domicile certificate of 10-year residency issued by competent authority.
Candidates admitted under OBC A/B categories must submit an undertaking on a Rs.10/-
non-judicial Stamp paper, stating that their admission will be revoked if their OBC certificate
becomes invalid in future.
Persons with 40% or more disability will only be considered for admission under PD
category under RPD Act, 2016.

It is being brought to the notice of all concerned that Ragging is not only a social evil but also a penal
offence. Any student/s indulging in ragging of any student/s including freshers during admission /
interview and / or subsequently at the hostel or in the class or in the corridors or anywhere inside and
outside of the campus, shall be severely dealt with on pain of punishment ranging from loss of
academic year / loss of hostel boardership to expulsion from the university itself. Reporting to the
Police Station may also be made in addition to the above punishment. The University is to follow all
the directives of the “UGC REGULATION ON CURBING THE MENACE OF RAGGING IN
HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, 2009 under the direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court
