CLASS 1st HOLIDAY HOME WORK

Dear students
School is closing for summer break from 28TH May 2024 to 30 June 2024. Fun
time is on. I along with your teachers have worked out some tips which may help
you to constructively plan your holidays. Here are the tips.
1. Pursue a hobby. Learn skill- music, dance, painting, computer, book binding,
toy making, photography or anything of your choice.
2. Locate and underline all new words in your different books. Find their
meanings in the dictionary and learn their application. When you return to school,
be richer by at least 500 new word friends.
3. Identify a problem of your locality and take initiative to solve it. (Clean up
the street, write letter to news paper or municipal commissioner, generate public
awareness about pollution etc.
4. Revive your relationships with relatives and old friends through telephone
calls or letters. Write sorry letters to friends or relatives whose functions or
birthdays you could not attend.
5. Write a thank-you letter to your teacher if he/she has made a good change in
your life (on school address).
6. Decide which programs on T.V. as worth watching. Limit your T.V. watching
time. Give priority to the programmers which can be enjoyed by everyone in the
family.
7. Help your parents in their work. Read at least five educative books
suitable to your age and write your feelings in a copy. The books may be story
books, autobiographies, G.K .books and puzzles.
9. Learn the names of some trees and plants, birds and animals of your locality
and know about their habitat
10. Visit some religious places occasionally or regularly and pray there.
11. Continue with the habit of early rising. Go for morning walk and do some
physical exercise. Join yoga classes or learn five ‘asans’ of yoga.
12. Read English newspaper regularly. Find out the location of places and
countries mentioned in the news-paper in the map with the help of atlas.
13. Write diary everyday highlighting achievement of the day. Do some activities
during holidays. Get some empty cups of ice-cream, put soil in them, put seeds,
water them every day. When plants grow recognizes these plants, uproot some of
the plants and see whether the roots are tap roots or fibrous roots.
15. If your relatives live in village, pay a visit to them and learn about village life.

 Collect and paste the pictures of different parts of the body from
magazines and paste then on a chart paper ( Roll no. 11 to 20)
Make a photo frame with ice-cream sticks. (Roll no. 21 to 30)
Mathematics
 Write and learn counting 1 to 100.

 Do practice addition ( without carrying)
 Do practice subtraction (without borrowing)
 Write and learn number names 1 to 50.(on extra notebook)

Draw the picture of Parts of Plants. (On A4 sheet roll no. 11 to 20)
Collect leaves of different plants and let them dry. Arrange the
leaves in your chart paper to make these animals. (Roll no. 21 to
30)
Note:- Do all the given worksheets neatly and keep them in a well
labeled folder.
