Constitution and By-laws of LNCHS Robotics Club

Article I: Name and Purpose


Section 1: Name
The name of this organization shall be the LNCHS Robotics Club, hereinafter referred to
as "the Club."
Section 2: Purpose
The purpose of the Club shall be to:
1. Foster the sharing of skills and knowledge in robotics among high school students
2. Provide a platform for friendly robotics competition
3. Promote STEM education and innovation
4. Develop leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
5. Create a supportive community for students interested in robotics

Article II: Membership


Section 1: Eligibility
Membership shall be open to all students enrolled at [School Name] who have an
interest in robotics, regardless of prior experience.
Section 2: Active Membership
To maintain active membership status, members must:
1. Attend at least 70% of regular meetings
2. Participate in at least one club project per semester
3. Maintain good academic standing as defined by school policy
Section 3: Dues
Annual membership dues shall be determined by the Executive Board at the beginning
of each school year.
Article III: Officers and Elections
Section 1: Officer Positions
The Club shall have the following officers:
1. President
2. Vice President
3. Secretary
4. Treasurer
5. Auditor
6. Technical Director
Section 2: Duties of Officers
1. President
- Oversee all Club activities
- Preside over meetings
- Serve as primary liaison with school administration
2. Vice President
- Assist the President
- Assume presidential duties in the President's absence
- Coordinate competition preparations
3. Secretary
- Maintain meeting minutes and attendance records
- Handle Club correspondence
- Manage social media and communications
4. Treasurer
- Manage Club finances
- Prepare budget proposals
- Keep record of expenses and income
5. Technical Director
- Oversee technical aspects of projects
- Maintain inventory of equipment
- Coordinate training sessions

Section 3: Elections
1. Officers shall be elected annually at the last meeting of the school year
2. Candidates must be active members in good standing
3. Elections shall be conducted by secret ballot
4. A simple majority is required to win

Article IV: Meetings

Section 1: Regular Meetings


1. The Club shall meet monthly during the academic year
2. Meeting time and location shall be determined at the beginning of each semester

Section 2: Special Meetings


Special meetings may be called by the President or by petition of one-third of active
members

Article V: Competitions

Section 1: Participation
1. The Club shall participate in at least one robotics competition per semester
2. Competition teams shall be formed based on member interest and expertise
3. All members shall have the opportunity to participate in competitions

Section 2: Preparation
1. Dedicated competition preparation sessions shall be scheduled
2. The Vice President shall oversee competition preparations
3. Safety protocols must be followed during all preparation activities

Article VI: Committees

Section 1: Standing Committees


1. Technical Committee
2. Fundraising Committee
3. Outreach Committee

Section 2: Ad Hoc Committees


The President may establish ad hoc committees as needed

Article VII: Faculty Adviser

Section 1: Selection
A faculty advisor shall be selected by the Club officers and approved by school
administration

Section 2: Duties
The faculty adviser shall:
1. Provide guidance and support
2. Attend Club meetings when possible
3. Assist in coordination with school administration

Article VIII: Finances

Section 1: Fiscal Year


The fiscal year shall align with the school year

Section 2: Budget
1. The Treasurer shall prepare an annual budget
2. The budget must be approved by a majority vote of active members

Article IX: Amendments

Section 1: Proposal
Amendments may be proposed by any active member

Section 2: Adoption
1. Proposed amendments must be presented at a regular meeting
2. Amendments require a two-thirds majority vote of active members
3. Approved amendments take effect immediately unless otherwise specified

Article X: Dissolution

Section 1: Procedure
1. Dissolution requires a three-fourths majority vote of active members
2. All debts must be paid before dissolution

Section 2: Assets
Upon dissolution, all assets shall be donated to the school's science department
