a. Simple Past

AFFIRMATIVE FORM: Subject + Verb + (In past form) + Object

For third person add: ¨s¨ or ¨es¨ to the verb.

NEGATIVE FORM: Subject + Don´t (Auxiliary) + Verb (Base form) + Object.

● For third person add ¨Does¨ as Auxiliary.


● In negative form ´´Don´t´´ can be used instead of ´´Do not´´.
● In negative form ´´Doesn´t´´ can be used instead of ´´Does not´´ for third person.

INTERROGATIVE FORM: Do (Auxiliary) + Subject + Verb (Base form) + Object.

● For third person add ¨Does¨ as Auxiliary.


c. Present Progressive

AFFIRMATIVE FORM: Subject + Verb be (am/is/are) + Verb (Gerund form) + Object.

NEGATIVE FORM: Subject + Verb be (am/is/are) + not + Verb (Gerund form) + Object.

● In negative form ´´isn´t´´ can be used instead of ´´is not´´.


● In negative form ´´aren´t´´ can be used instead of ´´are not´´.

INTERROGATIVE FORM: Verb be (am/is/are) + Subject + Verb (Gerund form) + Object..

d. Simple Future (Will)

AFFIRMATIVE FORM: Subject + Will (Auxiliary) + Verb (Base form) + Object.

NEGATIVE FORM: Subject + Will (Auxiliary) + not + Verb (Base form) + Object.
In negative form ´´won´t´´ can be used instead of ´´will not´´.

INTERROGATIVE FORM: Will (Auxiliary) + Subject + Verb (Base form) + Object.

3. Write 5 sentences using Will.

4. Write 5 sentences using Simple Past and Simple Present.

5. Write a rule of each tense.

In the simple past the regular verbs are followed by -ed- or -d-.
Example: Complete - Completed.

In the simple present the verbs that end in s, ss, sh, ch, x, and o, add an es.
Example: Wash - Washes, Go - Goes.
