1. PLANNING INFORMATION
NOTE: Before you do this Service Bulletin, examine the seat(s) serial number(s). If the
seat(s) serial numbers(s) is/are not listed in Section 1.1., Effectivity of the B/E
Aerospace Service Bulletin SB−3ACF0107−25−45, you have met the intent of
the Service Bulletin. If the serial numbers are listed, proceed with the SB.

A. Effectivity

BD−700−1A10 aircraft, Serial No. 9337 to 9383, 9389 to 9400, 9404 to 9431 and
9998.
NOTE: The instructions given in this Service Bulletin are only applicable to the
systems and parts installed at the time of delivery of the aircraft or as
changed by Bombardier Aerospace Service Bulletin(s).

Before you do this bulletin, examine all STC, STA or equivalent action
changes to make sure that this bulletin can be completed.

B. Reason

1. Condition:
Operators have reported microswitch failures on their passenger seats, Part
No. 3ACF0107 single seats and 3ACF0207 double seats.

Refer to applicable governmental agency regulations and requirements and make sure that the work described in this
Service Bulletin is performed in compliance with manufacturer’s recommendations and/or acceptable industry standards.

2. Evidence:

When the microswitch (responsible for the seat track and swivel function)
malfunctions, the electrical assistance becomes inactive.

3. Objective/Benefit:

This Service Bulletin introduces a modification to replace the deficient seat

microswitch harness−assembly by a more reliable model. The benefit to the
operator is improved reliability and reduced maintenance costs.
C. Description

This Service Bulletin gives instructions to:

− Get access to Recline/Leg Rest Control− Assembly,
− Do the modification in accordance with VSB SB−3ACF0107−25−45, to install
new microswitch assembly, and
− Do the necessary tests to make sure that the system operates correctly.

This Service Bulletin does not contain modification information that revises the
approved configuration and therefore does not require governmental or other
regulatory approval.

F. Manpower
NOTE: The man−hours given are estimates to help you schedule the tasks given
in this bulletin. The estimates are for direct labor performed by an
experienced crew and do not include the time for familiarization, planning,
aircraft preparation in hangar such as towing and positioning of scaffolds,
removal of interior furnishings, repainting, supervision and inspection.
For more information related to the manpower estimates, refer to SB
700−1A11−00−002.

5.5 man−hours are necessary to do this modification.

The labor required to do this Service Bulletin is at no cost if:
− the work is done at Bombardier Business Aviation Services (BBAS) or
Authorized Service Facilities (ASF), and
− this Service Bulletin is scheduled in less than 15 months from its release date
(Basic Issue).)

No kit is necessary to do this special check/replacement. For parts data, refer to

Paragraph 3.B.
NOTE: The microswitch assembly, Part No. 3AAD0207501 single seat and/or
3AAD027502 double seat may be required to do this Service Bulletin and
can be purchased from Bombardier Aerospace Parts Services, in
Montreal.

The parts are available at no cost if a no−charge purchase order is sent to

Bombardier Aerospace in less than 15 months, from this Service Bulletin release
date (Basic Issue).
During or after the above free period, Smart Parts Plus does not pay for the parts to
do this modification.

2. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES: 1. All TASKs given in the procedures that follow are from the Express or
Global 5000 BD−700−1A11, Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) unless
otherwise specified.

2. All references made to zones, access panels and/or doors, are from the
Global 5000 BD−700−1A11, Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Chapter
6.

A. Aircraft Setup
(1) Obey all electrical/electronic safety precautions. Refer to
AMM 24−00−00−910−801.
(2) Make sure that the EMER LIGHTS switch on the cockpit PASS SIGN/EMER
LIGHTS panel is set to the OFF position.
(3) In the flight compartment, on the Electrical Management System (EMS) Control
Display Unit (CDU), set the circuit breaker that follows to LOCKED. Refer to
AMM 24−00−00−863−801:

(4) On the galley touchscreen, set the circuit breaker that follows to LOCK. Refer
to SMM Chapter 24, CABIN ELECTRICAL POWER:

B. Modification

(1) Remove recline/leg−rest assembly control in accordance with Section 3.2.

"Disassembly" of the VSB SB−3ACF0107−25−45.
(2) Do the modification of the passenger single and/or double seat. Refer to
Section 3.3. "Modification Instructions" of the VSB SB−3ACF0107−25−45.
(3) Install recline/leg−rest assembly control in accordance with Section 3.4.
"Assembly" of the VSB SB−3ACF0107−25−45.

C. Testing

(1) Connect electrical power to the aircraft. Refer to AMM 24−00−00−861−801.

(2) In the flight compartment, on the Electrical Management System (EMS) Control
Display Unit (CDU), set the circuit breaker that follows to IN. Refer to
AMM 24−00−00−863−802.

(4) In the flight compartment, on the PASS SIGN/EMER LIGHTS control panel, set
EMER LIGHTS switch to ON.
(5) Turn lumbar controls on and off, to confirm their operation.
(6) Do the operational test of the passenger seating. Refer to the Global Express
Component Maintenance Manual CMM 25−20−72 INSPECTION/CHECK for
Single seats Part No.3ACF0107 and CMM 25−20−73 INSPECTION/CHECK
for Double seats Part No.3ACF0207.
(7) Remove the external power from the aircraft. Refer to
AMM 24−00−00−861−802.

D. Close−out
Remove all tools, equipment and unwanted materials from the aircraft.
E. Recording

When this Service Bulletin is completed, make an entry in the aircraft log and send
the attached Incorporation Notice to Bombardier Business Aircraft Customer
Services (BBACS).
