Strategic

 Plan optimum use of available production facilities/circuits to ensure on time delivery of products
 Ensure effective utilization of manpower, utility, raw materials,(terminal side- planning pre-cooling

Operational parameters
 Review the history of operational parameters around the clock and take appropriate action to meet the operational
standards.
 Control the operation of the plant and equipment to comply with all EHS Standards.
 Expected to operate the plant to meet budgeted rates and quality requirements.
 Equipment start-up and Shut down activates. Purging, Pre cleaning, Review of check list- valve isolation, Blind check
list, P&ID Correction.

Operating procedures
 Review current work procedures and develop new work procedures and instructions in order to serve as a guideline
for field operators
Reporting on operational performance
 Monitor and report to GM the operationa; performance of the process to ensure continuous, smooth and
uninterrupted operations.

 Make suggestions for the improvement of the plant operation and procedures.

SHUT-DOWN & START-UP
 Ensure all actions are taeken for the safe shutdown and startup in specific areas of the plant in line with standard
operating procedures.
Work Permits
 Take necessary actions to facilitate the authorization of work permits to work in the field specifying conditions to
work safety and ensure compliance.
 Ensure Isolation checklist, Blind checklist, purging procedures, P&ID line & blind marking.
Inspection of field
 Undertake Physical inspections in the field to ensure operational equipment is in good working condition.
Maintenance work orders
 Follow up maintenance work orders and co-ordinate with other departments to ensure maintenance jobs are
completed on time.
Training
 Provide on the job training for field operator and Trainee to ensure they are performing to minimum performance
standards.

Terminal Operation

 Planning, organizing and running the operations day-to-day operations of the Plant to meet the
Discharge/Transfer targets & cryogenic / LPG / Ammonia Terminal operation.
 Coordinate with Agent & Surveyor & ship captain/ control room.
 Preparation of ship-shore reconciliation sheet for every vessel during discharge and system walk through report
every month, updating of MCR daily records and job status and completion of various other tasks given from time
to time and reporting to GM.
 Acted as Ship and Terminal Safety in charge for 200+ships in LPG & Ammonia and carried out Safety inspection,
Dock safety and negotiations with Ship personals before Cargo dispatch and maintain safe dispatch throughout
cargo completion.

standards.

Jetty Operations

 To coordinate with planning department, Port Authorities & Vessels agent in allocation of berth and berthing
schedule.
 To carry out safety checks on vessels and jetty in line with company and international standards.
 Conduct a key meeting with ships officers regarding cargo operation plan, executing initial and final cargo/shipping
documentation.
 Ships loading and unloading operations done by using hose tower and loadings arms
 Unloading of fully refrigerated cargo of AMMONIA /L.P.G. through pre-chilled pipelines, also loading & unloading of
liquid petroleum & Non-petroleum (Acids) product.
 To supervise cargo conditions and complete Ship/Shore safety check list in accordance with ISGOTT guidelines.
Connection of loading arms, monitoring & recording parameters during unloading. communication with cargo
officer & Terminal control room, safety watch like gas detection, proximity limits of unloading arm, emergency
shut down
 Supervise the activities of jetty Loading Assistants Participate in emergency preparedness exercises.
 Maintenance Coordination / Emergency Response Draw up of loading and offloading plans.
 Responsible of quality and quantity for Terminal operations
Handles all paperwork and coordinates with all parties

SPIC – Creative Improvements:


 Ammonia transfer pump discharge valve u/s Auto recirculation valve fixed.
 PUF insulated ammonia chiller implemented- ammonia back pumping operation for energy saving, control tank
pressure & avoid NH3 venting to flare.
 Ammonium carbomate pump barrel passivaion (chromic oxide layer to protect cracking).
 New product (Bentonite sulphur (Ratio9S:1B) fertilizer project proposal PPT). Raw material molten sulphur from
existing H2SO4 plant molten pit.
 Steam Reformer catalyst loading / unloading period tube top temporary wooden plug designed.

DFPCL- Creative Improvements:


 Project- Ammonia loading period Fin cooler condensing water sump with centrifugal pump insulated – used the
water cooling tower make up.
 NH3 pump suction barrel hot NH3 vapour line for pressure rising 1/2inch line hook up from ammonia compressor
discharge.
 Cyclone separator installed to recovery Bentonite & dust recovery system.
 Shell & tube cooler installed for pre heat the NH3 Vs cooling water-reduce the energy saving from Fin cooler.
 Mass flow meter installed in feed line to batch reactor.
