X-ray equipment generates ionizing radiation, which is potentially hazardous to the patient and personnel. If not
properly used, x-ray equipment may be dangerous. Due to the potentially adverse effects of ionizing radiation,
the following recommendations should be read and understood before attempting to operate this x-ray
equipment.
The x-ray equipment was designed to comply with the recommendations of the United States Center for
devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) as specified in the Code of Federal Regulations Title 21, the Standards
for Medical Devices of the International Electro technical Commission IEC 60601 and Council Directive
93/42/EEC of the European Commission.
Although this equipment incorporates protection against x-radiation other than the useful beam, practical design
does not provide complete protection. Equipment design does not compel the operation or assistants to take
the necessary precautions, nor does it prevent the possibility of improper use.
Only authorized and properly trained individuals should operate this equipment. All individuals authorized to use
this equipment must be aware of the danger of excessive exposure to radiation. In addition, it is important that
all authorized personnel be familiar with regulatory standards in their country.
One of the recommendations of the guidelines is that doses be kept As Low As Reasonably Achievable
(ALARA). Patient dose should be kept as low as possible without compromising the quality of the procedure.
Authorized operators should avoid exposure to the primary beam at all times. Any object in the path of the
primary beam produces secondary or scattered radiation. Protective measures should be taken to safeguard
against secondary radiation.

3.1.1 General
- Connect the service PC to the generator PCB ZST2- piggyback PCB MP15 connector X3.
- Switch on the generator and control the data link between the PCB ZST2 and the service PC
by pressing with the mouse into the right field. If the communication is ok you will see three
curves in this field.
1.
Start up the generator in service mode by pressing the push button and together.
301: :302
A 70kV 100mA 100ms
From this code number 301 it is possible to jump directly to an other code number. In addition it is
possible to move in the code list by pressing the buttons ^or >.
301: :400
A 70kV 100mA 100ms
301: :302
A 70kV 100mA 100ms
The calibration is described on the basis of the 200mA tube current Code number 927.
Figure 3-1shows the measurement when the stored parameters for the heating current are to high. The curve
over swings before it is regulated to the reference value. Here also regulation time is about 30 ms. The
measured mAs-product it to high and the generator calculate a new filament heat current for the next exposure.
These curves point out that it is essential to adjust the tube current correctly each time at installation or if a
new tube is installed.
5.2 Call up code No. 921 (Filament current boost during the first second of preparation in mA)
5.3 Call up code No. 922 (the first tube current step to calibrate)
Press the exposure button and wait until the exposure is over.
In the display appears the last measured tube current value at the end of the exposure (for example
1,9mA) and the mAs-Produkt of this exposure (2mA * 100ms = 0.2mAs)
922: 2mA focus 2 (0-9999) :3560
A 70kV 1.9mA 100ms 0.2mAs
In this case, the filament heating (3560mA) for 2mA tube current is ok. The mAs product is 0.2mAs.
The generator decrease or increase the filament current automatically, if the measured mAs-product
differ from the ideal mAs-product. Press the M button after each exposure to approve the filament
current value.
Repeat the exposure, until the ideal mAs product will be measured.
5.4 Call up code No. 923 (5mA tube current ) Ideal mAs product 0.5mAs.
Do the same, as described under point 5.3
Call up code No. 924 (10mA tube current) Ideal mAs product 1mAs.
Do the same, as described under point 5.3
Call up code No. 925 (50mA tube current) Ideal mAs product 5mAs.
Do the same, as described under point 5.3
Call up code No. 926 (100mA tube current) Ideal mAs product 10mAs.
Do the same, as described under point 5.3
Call up code No. 927 (200mA tube current) Ideal mAs product 20mAs.
Do the same, as described under point 5.3
Call up code No. 928 (320mA tube current) Ideal mAs product 32mAs.
Do the same, as described under point 5.3
Call up code No. 930 (650mA tube current) Ideal mAs product 65mAs.
Do the same, as described under point 5.3
Call up code No. 931 (800mA tube current) Ideal mAs product 80mAs.
Do the same, as described under point 5.3
5.5 Call up code No. 938 (filament current for low kV for all tube current steps)
at 40kV
The generator calculate the filament current for lower kV automatically. With this parameter it is
possible to adjust the calculation for each kind of tube.
Make an exposure and adjust the value until the tube current is constant
5.6 Call up code No. 939 (filament current for high kV for all tube current steps)
at 100kV
The generator calculate the filament current for higher kV automatically. With this parameter it is
possible to adjust the calculation for each kind of tube.
Make an exposure and adjust the value until the tube current is constant
The procedure is the same as the procedure for the large focal spot
If a malfunction occurs, please observe/heed the instructions exactly. Never open up the device.
CAUTION
Even if the generator is switched off there are still components, internal to the generator
cabinet, which are electrically live !
Only qualified and trained service personnel may open the cabinets !
Incorrect handling can result in danger to life or limb!
