Pronouns: Words that replace nouns in a sentence to avoid repetition and make sentences smoother.

Examples include he, she, they, it, this, that, who, and which.

Types of Pronouns

1. Personal Pronouns

Subject Pronouns: I, you, he, she, it, we, they

• I am going to the market.

• She is my friend.

Object Pronouns: me, you, him, her, it, us, them

• Give the book to me.

• He called them.

2. Possessive Pronouns

Used before nouns: my, your, his, her, its, our, their

• This is my car.

• Their house is beautifu

Used alone: mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs

That book is mine.

The decision is yours.

3. Reflexive Pronouns

Referring back to the subject: myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves,
themselves

He did it all by himself.

We taught ourselves how to bake.

4. Demonstrative Pronouns

Pointing out specific things: this, that, these, those

This is my favorite song.

Those are lovely flowers.

5. Relative Pronouns
Connecting clauses: who, whom, whose, which, that

The person who called me is my friend.

The book that you gave me is fantastic.

6. Indefinite Pronouns

Referring to non-specific people or things: anyone, everyone, someone, nobody, each, few,
many

Everyone is welcome to the party.

Nobody knows the answer.

7. Interrogative Pronouns

Used in questions: who, whom, whose, which, what

Who is coming to the meeting?

Which colour do you prefer?

Read the following sentences and use the appropriate pronouns.
