    your parents meet
    each other ?

    COURTSHIP
    •is the period in a couple’s
    relationship which precedes
    their engagement and
    marriage.
    • Courtship- is a stage in which a
    man and a woman assess each
    other.
    • It is an opportunity to know the
    background of each other,
    including the family where each
    one belongs.
    DATING
    • a social activity which involves
    two or more people generally
    assessing each other’s
    suitability for a potential
    relationship.
    DATING
    -is a form of courtship consisting of
    social activities done by two people,
    as partners in an intimate
    relationship or as a spouse.

    -an act of meeting and engaging in


    some mutually agreed upon social
    activity, together as a couple.
    WHAT ARE THE TYPES
    OF DATING?
    1.Standard Date- involves two people

    2. Double Date- two couples go on a


    date at the same time and place.

    3. Group Date- where any number of


    couples can enjoy a date.
    MARRIAGE
    - Defined as the most
    committed male-female
    relationship. It is a legal
    contract held together by
    bonds of intimacy and
    sharing.
    Definitions of Marriage

     Article 1 of the Family Code of the


    Philippines- marriage is a special
    contract of permanent union between a
    man and a woman entered into in
    accordance with law for the
    establishment of conjugal and family life.
    Forms of Marriage:
    1.Monogamy- union of one man and one
    woman for a varying period of time.
    2.Polygamy- the state of practice of having
    2 or more wives or husbands at a time.
    • Polygyny- a man has two or more wives
    at the same time. An acceptable practice
    among Muslims.
    • Polyandry- a woman has two or more
    husbands at a time.
