ELECTRONIC PRODUCT

ASSEMBLY AND SERVICING

EPAS
It covers the basic and common
competencies in addition to the core
competencies such as assembly electronic
products, preparing PBC modules and
installing and servicing consumer and
industrial electronic product and system.
Tools and
Equipments:

Multimeter:
A multimeter or a multitester, also known as
a VOM (volt-ohm-milliammeter), is an electronic
measuring instrument that combines several
measurement functions in one unit. A typical
multimeter can measure voltage, current, and
resistance. Analog multimeters use a
microammeter with a moving pointer to display
readings. Digital multimeters (DMM, DVOM) have a
numeric display, and may also show a graphical bar
representing the measured value
Soldering
Station
A soldering station is a multipurpose
power soldering device designed for
electronic components soldering. This
type of equipment is mostly used in
electronics and electrical engineering.
Soldering station consists of one or more
soldering tools connected to the main
unit, which includes the controls
(temperature adjustment), means of
indication, and may be equipped with an
electric transformer.
Soldering
accessories
Solder: A low-melting alloy, especially one
based on lead and tin or (for higher
temperatures) on brass or silver, used for
joining less fusible metals.

Solder wick: Anyone who solders should know

the basics of how to use a solder wick, which is
braided copper wire. This tool will help to
remove solder from any solder joints that you
need to change. This is an especially useful tool
for those who need to remove solder from
circuit boards and other electrical components.
Cleaning sponge: This wet sponge is used to clean the
corrosion on the tip of the iron. A dry sponge does
nothing but damage the tip. Every time you pull the
iron from the stand, it's a good idea to swipe the tip
on the sponge just to clean it off and get a nice silver
tip - it will allow you to solder much more quickly and
cleanly.

Tip tinner: Tip tinner is a good thing to have in your

arsenal of soldering supplies. Composed of a mild
acid, it helps remove baked on residue (for when you
melt your desk top) and helps prevent oxidation (the
nasty black stuff) that accumulates on your
soldering tip when not in use.
Diagonal cutting pliers: Diagonal cutting
pliers are used for cutting wire and small pins
in areas that cannot be reached by
larger cutting tools. Because
the cutting edges are diagonally offset about
15 degrees, these can cut objects flush with a
surface.

Helping hand: A helping hand, also known as

a third hand or X-tra Hands, is a type of
extremely adjustable jig used in soldering
and craftwork to hold materials near each
other so that the user can work on them.
Flux pen:Pin transfer fluxes are specially
designed with rheological characteristics to help
optimize the amount of material that is picked up
and placed on the pads. Other materials can also
be pin transferred. Pin blocks are used to transfer
solder paste and epoxies in a range of
applications.

Solder vacuum pump: A desoldering pump,

colloquially known as a solder sucker, is a
manually-operated device which is used to
remove solder from a printed circuit board. There
are two types: the plunger style and bulb style.
(An electrically-operated pump for this purpose
would usually be called a vacuum pump.)
Bench Power
Supply

A bench power supply is a

standard piece of test and
measurement equipment on
every electrical engineer and
circuit designer's bench. They
provide DC (direct current)
voltage to a device under test
such as a circuit board or other
product being validated
Oscilloscope

An oscilloscope is a laboratory
instrument commonly used to
display and analyze the waveform
of electronic signals. In effect, the
device draws a graph of the
instantaneous signal voltage as a
function of time. ... The most
sophisticated oscilloscopes employ
computers to process and display
waveforms.
Wire Stripper

A wire stripper is a small, hand-

held device used to strip the
electrical insulation from
electric wires.
Hot Glue Gun

Hot glue guns are portable

devices that utilize and
dispense hot melt adhesives. ...
They are used to apply glue to
delicate cloth fabrics and to
denser materials, including
wood. An
industrial glue stick gun.
Precision Screwdriver
Set

Used primarily for work on small,

intricate devices, a precision
screwdriver is a hand tool with a
similar intended use as a
standard screwdriver but
possessing a smaller form factor
and a sleeker handle design.
Tweezers

The main purpose of

the soldering tweezers is to
melt solder in the correct place;
components are usually moved
by simple tweezers or vacuum
pickup.
Rotary Tool

A rotary tool is a versatile

power tool that can be used for
different kinds of projects. The
most commonly known
know rotary tool brand is Dremel.
It's basically a do-it-all kind of
device that's especially useful for
light cutting, grinding, and
cleaning task, making it one of the
must-have tools in any toolbox.
Breadboards

A breadboard is a solderless
device for temporary prototype
with electronics and test circuit
designs.
Most electronic components
in electronic circuits can be
interconnected by inserting their
leads or terminals into the holes
and then making connections
through wires where appropriate.
Jumper Wires

Jumper wires are simply wires that

have connector pins at each end,
allowing them to be used to connect
two points to each other without
soldering. Jumper wires are typically
used with breadboards and other
prototyping tools in order to make it
easy to change a circuit as needed.
Fairly simple.
Resistors

A resistor is a passive two-terminal

electrical component that
implements electrical resistance as
a circuit element.
In electronic circuits, resistors are
used to reduce current flow, adjust
signal levels, to divide voltages,
bias active elements, and terminate
transmission lines, among other
uses.
LEDs

LEDs are a type of
semiconductor called "Light
Emitting Diode". White LEDs,
which have achieved practical
realization through the use of
high-brightness
blue LEDs developed in 1993
based on Gallium Nitride, are
attracting increased attention as
a 4th type of light source.
Potentiometers
and Pushbuttons

Electronic symbol: (IEC Standard) (ANSI

Standard) A potentiometer is a three-terminal
resistor with a sliding or rotating contact that
forms an adjustable voltage divider. If only
two terminals are used, one end and the
wiper, it acts as a variable resistor or rheostat.

A Push Button: is a type of switch which

shorts or completes the circuit when it is
pressed. It is used in many circuits to trigger
the systems. A spring is placed inside it to
take it back in initial or off position as soon as
the button is released. It is usually made up of
hard material like plastic or metal.
Starter Kit

Arduino Starter Kit is the best way

to start with
coding, electronics and Arduino its
elf. Arduino Starter Kit is a perfect
way to dive into electronics as you
get all the essential components
in a single package that are
required to start working
with Arduino.
Cabinet organizer

A cabinet organizer is essential in

your electronics lab, so that you have
all your components organized. Akro-
