Abstract
• This project presents two different applications using hand gesture, here Hand Signal
Transceiver system is used to operate as human mouse as well as home appliances.
• Human mouse is capable of recognizing six hand gestures ,they are: up, down, right,
left, right click and left click based on the accelerometers input signals.
• This project also presents the system to control home appliances by hand gesture.
The main advantage of the project is to control the mouse and home appliances
which is useful for the physically challenged and the aged people.

Introduction
• This Gesture recognition enables the human to communicate and to interact with the machine
without any mechanical devices.
• The project mainly focuses on the advancement of a hand operated computer mouse which
consists of sensors placed in the gloves to determine the position of hand and to operate as the
simple human mouse.
• The sensors which are fixed in the gloves detect the hand motion and drive the left or right
displacement of the mouse.
• Here the gesture detection is used by accelerometer for various corresponding orientation in
two axes, here the collection of output from accelerometer is done by microcontroller and the
corresponding information is displayed on LCD screen.
• The accelerometer sensor is the main component here which controls the screen as well as the
home appliance via ZigBee.
