PROCESSING SYSTEM
(A Case study of NPC Birnin Kebbi,Kebbi State)

February 2021
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Delay in collecting details of child and his parents in the process of birth registration, processing
birth certificate, storing records, searching for a record and difficulty in determining the
population of people has being a serious problem to the whole process of birth registration in
manual way or form. Therefore, the research work is about designing birth registration for
National Population Commission Kebbi State for registration of birth in such a way that it will
ease the procedure of registration, generate birth certificate for the registered child, and make
query on the registered Childs’ details of birth registration is very important in our society and
organization today.
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM

 Delay in processing birth certificate.

 Difficulties in collecting required data or details.
 Delay in searching for a record.
 Difficulties in storing records.
 Difficulty in determining the population of people.

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

The aim and objective to this project is to design a suitable birth registration for National
Population Commission Kebbi State that will make work easier for both the staff and the
candidate and save more time for both the staffs.
LITERATURE REVIEW
The first attempts in mid- 1962, was canceled offer much controversy and allegation of over
counting in many areas. A second attempt in 1963 which was officially accepted, also well
encumbered with inaccuracy and manipulation for regional and local political purpose indeed, the
official 1963 figure of 55.6 million as total national population is inconsistent with the census of
declared earlier because it implies a virtually impossible annual growth rate of 5.8 percent in
addition to likely inflation of the aggregate figure significant interregional anomalies emerge from a
class comprise of the south east, for example the tool set of date imply that some non urban local
government area (LGAS) head increased at a rate of almost 13 percent per year, while other
neighboring area experienced a minute growth rate of 0.5 percent per year.
SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
Based on the existing system, the need of a computerized system, especially in storing the
child record that can support the development of Birth Registration, such as: Computerized
system for citizens absences that can be integrated with existing systems an employee
salary calculation software, Computerized system for data storage in order to minimize the
risk of data loss and Computerized system that can perform a search Child Infomationdata
quickly and easily.
JUSTIFICATION OF THE NEW SYSTEM
From the analysis carried out of the present system of the Birth Registration services, it is evidently
clear that a new automated management information system is inevitable for effectives and proper
management information system of the service. The new system will help to solve all the problems
inherent in the existing system. The justification for the new system includes:
1) Timely staff record registration
2) Timely processing of person information
3) Error free processing of data
4) It is inexpensive to administrators
5) The new system will store information with easy, allow easy and retrieval of existing user.
EXPECTED OUTPUT RESULT
Bellow are some of the expected result of the system.
 Design a birth registration forms that can be use to collect data or detail of a father,
mother and child.
 To generate a birth certificate for the registered child using the details given.
 To make query very easy, where registered children can be check base on specific day,
month or year.
 Simplify the method of getting the actual population of people.
