Project Title: Green Building
Context / Situation (Business Need/ Problem / Opportunity)
In order to fulfil with sustainable developments goals, a great concern to environmental and
climatic changes. Goal No. 13 lighten the spot on the opportunity for all to take action and help
reverse such harm.
The organization should take steps to eliminate pollution resources through defined initiatives
Legal Basis
Egyptian law for environment No. 4 for 2009.
UN 17 Sustainable development goals.
Outcomes (high level)
- Decrease emission of CO2 inside organization facilities and affiliates.
- Prohibit all type of smoking inside organization facilities and affiliates.
- Decrease paper consumption inside organization facilities and affiliatesReduction of natural resource
consumption
- Reduction of operating costs
- Health, comfort and safety for all residents
- Increased productivity of the occupants
- Energy optimization and reduction of energy consumption
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a United Nations initiative, formally adopted by the
United Nations General Assembly in 2015 aiming to transform our world: the 2030 Agenda for
Sustainable Development.
- They are 17 goals to be achieved over the next 15 years, with the aim to “end poverty, protect the
planet, and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda”.
Sustainable Development Goal 13 is about climate action and the official mission statement of this goal is
to "Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts"
- Therefore, the organization should take steps to eliminate pollution resources through defined initiatives
such as:
Create a green eco-friendly building by applying the following:
Decrease the on-site workforce and adopt working from home concept.
Prohibit all type of smoking inside organization facilities and affiliates.
Decrease paper consumption inside organization facilities and affiliates

Project charter
SCOPE DEFINITION:
Green Building promotes the efficiency of buildings with regards to the use of water,
energy and materials while reducing the building’s impact on individual’s health and the
environment through better design, construction, operation, maintenance and removal.
The project will include Energy, waste, emissions management approaches
PROJECT MILESTONES:
Significant reduction in emissions, wastes, electricity consumption by 30% than traditional
similar projects.
21
Project charter
ASSUMPTIONS, CONSTRAINTS & DEPENDENCIES:
HIGHER COSTS FOR GREEN CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES AND MATERIALS:
1. Digitalization of the system and technical difficulty during the implementation process
2. As compared to conventional projects, green projects tend to cost more to construct.
According to an estimate capital costs for green projects in the range of 25% higher.
3. People resistance to new rules
TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY DURING THE IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS:
Green technologies require complicated techniques and construction processes. If complexities
are not addressed well then it may affect the project manager’s performance.
RELATED DOCUMENTS
LEED requirements, procurement proposals and sustainable development goals.

PROJECT WORKPLAN
Project Summary
In this project we’re seeking the leadership in Energy and Environmental Design; we are
concentrating our effort on improving performance across below mentioned key areas
of environmental and human health:
1. Energy efficiency
Work Remotely This will lead to reduction in car motion.
Future to replace Current Vehicles with new electric one This well lead to
decrease of CO2 Emissions.
New Direction for generating electricity in place by solar energy This well lead
to decrease the dependence of Electricity generated by fossil fuel sources and
regulate building Temperature by insulating it from direct sun.
2. Indoor environmental quality
Control building smoker people.

Quality Process:
The project quality management process comprises all activities (related both to processes
and deliverables) that will increase the ability to meet the project expected results identified
in the Project Charter.
30
Quality assurance :
QA is achieved by evaluating :
The design of the project controls, by confirming that they are
implemented, and by assessing their operational effectiveness. These
activities will consider the project quality objectives along with the project
risks.
Compliance with the organization's rules and regulations, as well as with
relevant governmental and industry rules, regulations and legislation.
Compliance with green building requirements.
Quality assurance activities are not performed by the Project Manager
(PM), but will be carried out:
Externally: by outsourcing audits to external entities/auditors when
necessary in cooperation with on site Quality assurance manager.
31
Quality Control:
The purpose of this step is to monitor and consolidate results from the quality assurance activities in
order to assess compliance and performance, recommend necessary changes, and plan new or refine
existing quality assurance activities.
Quality monitoring & controlling is performed throughout the project by the Project Manager (PM).
Other Quality Control Activities:
-Energy Modeling: Simplified, hourly and compliance energy modeling are performed in the
conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design stages
-Metering: Design of energy and water metering and leak detection systems was performed mostly in
the design stage
- Materials and Resources: Construction waste control was found to depend on the building typology
type selected. Life cycle assessments of materials to compare the environmental impact of choices
were not performed in the design stage by any of the participants
-Materials requiring overseas testing need to be discussed with the client from the beginning and
should be reconsidered with the client.
32
Quality of the project
33
Quality accountability
-The Project Manager (PM) is the overall accountable of the quality assurance activities within
the project.
The Project Manager (PM) is also responsible for scheduling and initiating all formal project
audits or reviews.
Quality Records
- The quality records (evidence that quality management activities have been performed) are
archived in the project repository, under the "Monitor & Control" folder.
- The different versions of the project artefacts (created at each artefact update) will provide
evidence of the performance of these activities.
