Essays On Emotions
Crafting an essay on the intricate and multifaceted subject of emotions can be both a challenging
and rewarding endeavor. Emotions, being inherently complex and subjective, require a nuanced
exploration that delves into the realms of psychology, philosophy, and even neuroscience. The
difficulty lies in capturing the essence of these intangible experiences and translating them into
words that resonate with readers.
Navigating through the vast array of emotions, from the subtle nuances of joy and contentment
to the depths of sorrow and despair, demands a keen understanding of human psychology.
Furthermore, delving into the cultural and societal influences on emotional expression adds
another layer of complexity to the writing process. Balancing the scientific understanding of
emotions with the personal and cultural aspects requires finesse and a deep appreciation for the
intricacies of the human experience.
Moreover, the challenge lies in avoiding oversimplification or reductionism, as emotions are not
easily compartmentalized or standardized. Each individual's emotional landscape is unique,
making it challenging to create a comprehensive and universally applicable narrative.
Yet, despite these challenges, the exploration of emotions in essay form provides an opportunity
for personal growth and intellectual enrichment. It allows the writer to engage with their own
emotions, fostering introspection and empathy. It also provides a platform to connect with
readers on a deeply human level, creating a shared understanding of our shared emotional
tapestry.
In conclusion, while the task of writing an essay on emotions may be daunting, it offers a chance
to embark on a profound journey into the complexities of human nature. The challenge is not
only to articulate these elusive experiences but also to foster a connection between the writer and
the reader through a shared exploration of the rich and diverse landscape of emotions.
For those seeking assistance with essays on emotions or any other topic, it's worth considering
professional help. Similar essays and a wide range of writing services can be explored and
ordered on platforms like HelpWriting.net, providing support for individuals navigating the
intricate world of academic and creative writing.

The Origin And Discoveries Of Electricity And Magnetism
This paper is mainly about the origin and discoveries of electricity and magnetism. It
is solely a summary of two natural phenomenon which have changed everything
about our way of life and has ushered us into a remarkable new age.
Firstly and most importantly, it is about the underlying idea of how magnetism and
electricity have come about, also it outlines and maps out the development and
discoveries of sources of electricity and magnetism by many inventors and the latter
discoveries of mega production.
When I was a little boy, I used to wonder what causes lightning and thunder. When
rain comes, I sometimes see intermittent lightning for a while before you can hear
the sound of a spark which is like two short circuited power cables.
At school, we all learnt about matter, which consists of atoms and molecules and
every atom has a nucleus and electron(s), inside the nucleus contains an equal
number of protons and neutrons. The electrons revolve round the nucleus of the
atom in order to keep it stable. Protons are positively charged particles, neutrons are
neutral and electrons are negative charge particles. The nucleus is surrounded by
shells; these are simply orbitals in which an electron(s) can be found. The number of
orbitals depends on how many electrons the atom has. The electrons which are in the
outer most orbitals have a tendency of being lost or shared by another atom in order
to create a more stable configuration.
Long before any knowledge of electricity existed
What Is The Religious Influence Of Leo Tolstoy
Leo Tolstoy s religious household, his service in the Russian military during the
Crimean War and his time spent traveling abroad, and his descriptive and
immersive writing style all come together to make him one of the most highly
regarded authors of his time. Being raised in a religious, high class family that was
full of death greatly influenced Tolstoy s writing of What I Believe, The Death of
Ivan Ilyich, and War and Peace. For example, Tolstoy s heavy religious influence
from his family greatly contributed to his writings( Tolstoy, Leo ). Tolstoy s religious
influence is shown in his writing of What I Believe. In this piece of literature by Leo
Tolstoy, he expresses his thoughts and his own interpretation of Christian theology...

In addition, Tolstoy s heavy gambling addiction after his resignation from the
Russian military contributed immensely into his writings.Tolstoy s addiction to
gambling is shown in his writing of The Cossacks ( Tolstoy, Leo ). In Tolstoy s
literary work of The Cossacks, the main character named Olenin, has a gambling
addiction and sets out to join the military during the Caucasian War. (Lord)
Another influence of Tolstoy s writings was the time he had spent traveling abroad
in Europe, eventually greatly disliking it ( Family Happiness Lev Tolstoy ).
Tolstoy s time abroad influenced many of his pieces such as Family Happiness. In
the writing of Tolstoy s Family Happiness, the main protagonist travels to Europe in
the book but ends up traveling back to Russia to reclaim her lost happiness, disliking
Europe just as Tolstoy had ( Family Happiness Lev Tolstoy ). At the end of things,
Tolstoy s writings were immensely
The Fire Next Time Summary
For the past several years, I ve greeted Ta Nehisi Coates s essays and blog posts for
The Atlantic with nothing short of gratitude. As an African American, he makes me
proud. There is no other way to put it. I do not always agree with him, but it hardly
matters. In a media world populated with pundits, so called experts and public
intellectuals driven by ego and familiar agendas, Coates s voice stands nearly alone
a black man raised in the streets of Baltimore who narrowly escaped the violence that
lurked around every corner and dodged the clutches of the prisons and jails that were
built for him, and who now speaks unpopular, unconventional and sometimes even
radical truths in his own voice, unfiltered. He is invariably humble, yet subtly defiant.
And people listen.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a civil rights lawyer, activist, legal scholar and mother of three black children, I
could not wait to read what Coates had to say to black young people at this
moment in our history, a time when many are struggling to make sense of how
frequently black lives can be destroyed legally through incessant police violence
and mass incarceration. I imagined that Coates s new book would make plain for
young people what is truly at stake in the struggle and disabuse them of the
prevailing myths that breed complacency, defeatism or inaction. That was what The
Fire Next Time did for me many years ago (and still does, every time I return to

Ginger Snaps Compare And Contrast
The movie that I kept thinking about while watching Raw was 2000 s Ginger
Snaps. Both are horror movies revolving around a couple of sisters as they
discover that their bodies are betraying them and turning them into different types
of creatures used as a metaphor to explain something that women go through in
their lives. Ginger Snaps had werewolves; Raw has cannibals. Ginger Snaps took
place in high school and used its transformation as a puberty metaphor. Raw is in
college and uses cannibalism for, well, potentially quite a lot. In some respects,
Raw is Ginger Snaps all grown up. Our protagonist is Justine (Garance Marillier), a
long term vegetarian who is just starting veterinary school. A hazing prank involves
eating meat, something that she initially refuses to do until she s egged on by her
older sister, Alexia. This awakens in her a desire for meat and not just from animals.
She wants human meat. It doesn t even have to be cooked. While making this
shocking discovery, she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This isn t a movie that hopes to make you leap out of your seat when nothing
happens by throwing a multitude of jump startles your way. It instead wants to
cause a deep unsettling feeling inside your gut as it shows you, well, probably
more or less exactly what you expect. Is there a pleasant way to show someone
eating another person s raw flesh? If there is, Raw doesn t want to go there. It
would ruin the effect. When Raw decides to get gross, it gets really gross and it
most definitely has the potential to make you feel uneasy. That feeling of unease
isn t just because it s unpleasant to watch people get eaten, either. Raw does a good
enough job of establishing Justine as a character and to a lesser extent, Alexia that
you worry for where this condition will lead her. You actually begin to care about the
cannibal, which is certainly different. It works because the film made her into a
person before afflicted with this
Teenage Subcultures
Fashions it a Way of expressing freedom? Or is it an expression of rebellion?
This essay which I would explore is the subculture and expression of teenagers in
the late 1950,s known as mods and rockers. The Mods and Rockers rebelled to get
recognised out from the crowd. The problems are being seen around that period, with
the subcultures in Britain, as teenagers wanted to be different from their parent s way
of fashion to partying and to get recognised. The conflict included discussion on
social norms but also symbolised fashion freedom. While the approach of the
groups may not have been ideal, due to the chaos caused by the two groups, many
of them were jailed. The fashion that distinguished each of the groups consisted of
suits and smart dressing by the mods, who were working class. Rockers style of
dressing, jeans, and leather jackets informed as down market conversely, it has also
been utilised as a statement of freedom by those oppressed by government,
establishments or regimes. It has also been utilised as a statement of liberty by those
oppressed by government, institutions or systems. Buxbaum discusses the idea of
fashion as a social phenomenon which links comprehensively to the Mods and
Rockers phenomenon. This period gave way to incredible advancement in fashion
identity and the economy of fashion. It provides details of certain motivations held by
the youth at the time which helps explain some of the shocking sights seen by the
British public, and indeed the
Specific Connectivity And Its Effect On A Growing Network
Specific connectivity is used to prioritize the molecule to add to a growing network.
As the network grows, IPA evaluates how much a new gene s neighborhood overlaps
the current network and selects the molecule that overlaps the most. Overlap is the
number of molecules that are similar compared to the total number of molecules.
Specific connectivity is computed by dividing the number of molecules found in the
intersection of the neighborhood and the network by the number of molecules in
their union If specific connectivity (SC) = (number of genes in intersection of the
neighborhood and network) / (number of genes in union of the neighborhood and
network) Then:
SC for the red molecule = 3/16 = 0.1875
SC for the green molecule = ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They can aid in identifying biological pathways affected by mutated genes. By
projecting lists consisting of deleted, amplified and mutated genes onto biological
pathways, a statistical improbable subset of unrelated genes would turn out to be
closely clustered in reaction space . Pathway analysis can therefore reveal valuable
insight into the underling biological causes of a disease. [Wu, Feng and Stein, 2010]
Different mutations found in different genes can cause the same Mendelian disease.
[Gilissen et al., 2011] For example, in Fanconi anemia, a condition that causes renal,
cardiac and limb malformations, mutations in many genes leads to one phenotype.
[Neveling et al., 2009] On the other hand, different mutations in the same gene can
lead to different phenotypes as is observed in tumor protein p63. Different mutations
lead to a number of monogenic malformation syndromes [Brunner, Hamel and
Bokhoven, 2002] suggesting that the mutations affect different biological pathways.
[Gilissen et al., 2011] In patients with dilated cardiomyopathy Norton et al. 2011
identified missense and truncated mutations in Bcl2 associated athanogene 3
(BAG3). A missense mutation in the BAG3 gene was also found to cause a different
condition, myofibrillar myopathy. [Norton et al., 2011]
Thus, our rationale is that identifying and understanding how genes (variants) interact
and in what biological pathways putative mutations occupy will reveal a more
Howard Ritcher s Use Of Colour In Pop Art
Artists use colour as a form of expression, this has become a common aspect of
contemporary art. Colour today in art is not usually regarded as an embellishment
for form but rather as the essential material from which form is created. This
changing role of colour has keynoted a general revolution in human thinking,
leading to greater visual perceptions. (Sloane, n.d.) Early as 1966, Gerhard Ritcher
has created paintings purely based on colour charts, to some this was a complete
indifferent composition to produce, however it was seen to perform like a great
classical masterpiece (Lubbock, 2011)
Gerhard Ritcher s use of colour is excessively influenced and attraction from Pop Art
during the 19th century. The use of standard vibrant colours... Show more content on

Due to this decline by artists the government decided to ban exhibitions of American
Pop Art. This limited Ritcher as he was obligated to stay within the norm of
working with landscapes. This ironically influenced Gerhard Ritcher to compose a
series of grey paintings that didn t portray any sort of subject. However, with his
high practise of colour, he tried to create art without any subject of matter. In some
paintings they almost contradict the whole concept of using colour. This is evident in
his artwork Green Blue Red . The abstract painting doesn t seem to represent
anything due to Ritcher s individual style of brushwork. The background a robust
green is underneath a very dark blue which is applied with a squeegee and then a
vibrant red. The green and blue almost overtake the red which contradicts the
colour perception that says a warm hue will be perceived as the foreground . This
is ironic as Gerhard Ritcher s work is heavily colour based, however he doesn t
follow the colour perception. This almost evidently portrays his view of preferring to
be the unartistic through the use of different tones. Some may interpret being
different as a free form to escape from the conscious design and just be able to create
something unpredictable...beyond his own horizon of expectations (Hatje

It notes that siRNA can cause gene silencing and has potential for treating these diseases, but developing safe and effective human therapies requires testing treatments in mouse models first. The document also provides background on siRNA and examples of neurodegenerative diseases that could benefit from new gene therapies.

Why Should We Be Interested In Stars

Birth of a Star
Why should we be interested in stars?
We should be interested in stars because they produce the factors such as light and
energy that stirs and heats the gas and dust in space and makes life on planets like
Earth possible.
To be a star, an object has to have at least about one tenth the mass of the Sun. Any
self gravitating cloud that attempts to become a star with less material would never
develop the pressures and temperatures in its interior needed for the ignition of the
nuclear processes that make stars shine. 2

This causes the ball, now a star, to shine. Depending on the mass of the star, they can
reach different types of fusion. Normal stars that have a mass of up to 4 times the sun
can only have hydrogen fusion, helium fusion, and carbon fission. Stars with a
bigger mass is classified as a massive star, and they undergo multiple stages. They
start out similar to the normal stars with hydrogen fusion, helium fusion and
carbon fission, but continue over to oxygen fusion, and silicon fusion. The end
product of Silicon is Iron. No star can fuse Iron, it will die. How much gas and dust
is collected during the star s formation determines the size and colour of the star. As
time passes by, stars fight the inward pull of the force of gravity. The outward
pressure created by the nuclear reactions pushing away from the star s core keeps the
star whole. However, these nuclear reactions require hydrogen. Eventually the supply
of hydrogen in the core runs out and the star begins to

Why Do Aliens Invade
When aliens invade, it s predicted in the apocalypse that men s hearts shall fail
them for fear, and (Conspiracy theories), as a result, are to cover what is coming,
they plan to rob the world. The world has summoned back the gods (aliens), one
example of summoning is an outstretched tongue. Intentionally protruding the
tongue represents the union of masculine and feminine spirits. This action invokes
the demonic spirits of transgender and the she males. The tongue protruding gives
these demons permission to come into the world or church. Inconsequential this is
why we have transgender and the she males. When Aliens invade, they will have
broken no laws and will be free to take over our planet, even though it will be a
forcible act. We will not defeat them. Their planet is their spacecraft, and they make
up part of the spiritual realm, the invisible world around us is a world of the ancient
dead in at war with us. Thus, aliens are after your sons and your daughters and you,
they hate us all and blame all mankind for their woes with vengeance. They plotted
against my daughter and will plot against you, your sons and daughters.... Show more

House Brew Vs Brewed At Home Essay
House Brew versus Brewed at Home Ever since someone observed energized birds
nibbling on its cherries, the coffea plant has invaded global culture with a
permanency matched by nothing else. Nowadays, the practice of roasting, grinding,
boiling, and ultimately drinking this aromatic chocolate brown liquid can be
observed at every corner. Beside the ubiquity of cafГ©s, everything from restaurants
to amusement parks sell some form of the revitalizing drink. Similar to anything else
with a matching popularity, coffeehas a whole subculture of its own, and not just one.
Some can only tolerate the taste of beans dissolved in a French press, others can
only indulge in the drink if they grind their own beans, imported from a rundown
factory somewhere in Colombia, because that s where the good stuff comes from.
This variance of preference towards something as seemingly simple as dried beans in
hot water boggles the mind. Only alcohol has similar divisions of taste, but there it s
slightly understandable; different drinks come from drastically separate ingredients
and can contain varying amounts of actual raw alcohol. However, in the case of
coffee, people who call themselves true fanatics won t touch anything dissolvable or
instant, and those instant drinkers usually avoid the painstaking process of brewing a
cup from Colombian beans, claiming overt bitterness and time constraints. How can
something so similar in nature, literally the same plant dissolved in some boiling
water,

Pros And Cons Of Nativism
The United States is no stranger to nationalism. Often, as citizens of the U.S. there is
a social pressure to celebrate our nation and show confidence in its abilities and its
traditions. There is nothing wrong with such a belief. I would even argue a cultural
identity rooted in nationalism is healthy. However, in recent years in the United States
, this nationalism has began to evolve into a more dangerous social notion;
nativism. This is a belief that the US should only protect the interests of those who
are native to the U.S., leading to exclusionary policies and even forms of racism.
Many of these beliefs are rooted in fear that have been stirred by a series of social
movements lead by some on the political right. This is seen very prominently... Show

For example, he discusses the common place fear that English is losing ground to
other languages in the United States. Despite the inaccuracy of this view, these types
of fears give way to nativist beliefs and discriminatory practices. Crawford discusses
later on the way that many believe we should best teach immigrant students English.
Many believe in a total immersion method which would remove classroom instruction
time and force students to learn the language independently. In reality this is a lazy,
neglectful practice with no basis in reality. Students who are coming from other
countries and are forced to adapt at a young age to a completely new culture are under
an immense amount of stress. To throw these students into classrooms with fluent
speakers with teachers who may not know their mother tongue, nor have the time to
teach them English will only have negative effects in their development. The best
way to support language acquisition in young students is to create a supportive
environment where they can focus on learning the language and not the stress of not
knowing
Michelle Obama Embodies The American Dream
In order to better society, the world constantly needs people to advocate for their
beliefs. The idea of the American Dream encompasses not only hard work to achieve
success, but also the obligation of people to extend their potentials to better the
world. To live the American Dream means that one constantly puts forth energy to
make a bettersociety. Michelle Obamaembodies the American Dream in that she
works hard for her success, and uses her success to advocate for the needs of
others. The platform of knowledge and understanding of society that Michelle
Obama has created for herself enables her to become the ideal image of the
American Dream. The possibilities are endless once one has access to education,
and Obama not only uses her hard earned education to better her own life, but
works to inspire the world to make education more readily available for others.
Obama uses the means given to her and utilizes her own experiences to improve the
lives of others. The true definition of the American Dream is perfectly encompassed
by Michelle Obama, in that it is greater than oneself and how advocating and
bettering society is the only way to achieve both internal and external success. The
mindset of hard work and determination that Obama had set early on in her life is
what makes her success... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

PED In Sports
The health factors happening in one s body are immense only because it is creating
a rapid acceleration of body cells that should be naturally created and not synthetic. If
the body undergoes this kind of evolution, it will not know how to cope with the
changes and adapt to it in time. The body will start shutting down the production of
testosteronebecause it has a sufficient supply coming from an outside source. Once
the body stops moving it will permanently shut down and the abusers will have to
supply themselves with more hormones from an outside source so that their body
will create more hormones for the body to maintain itself. As a matter of fact,
athletes who do not use PED s have an unfair advantage in their field of sport.

herself to more than 300 fold increase in testosterone beyond the normal level for
women (Yesalis and Cowart 63). Through PED s, athletes can show their best
performance without any limitations of their body slowing down or running out of
energy. However, consuming too many doses of PED s will lead to serious
damage to the body and may lead to several life threatening problems in the future.
For example, Manny Ramirez, helped the Red Sox stop the losing streak for the
past eighty six years (Ramirez). No doubt Ramirez is an amazing player, however
he did admit to using PED and he was suspended for it. Ramirez did not take the
100 game suspension, but instead, he decided to leave baseball. With this reason

him in to give him food and let clean his look up. The boy does not resist going to
the woman s house. The boy could really use the woman s trust in the future so in
the story, he is trying to build her trust back The theme explored in Thank You Ma
am by Langston Hughes is that when one person goes out of their way to help
another, everybody benefits from kindness. The first reason why the woman takes
care of the boy is because she cares about how the boy is treated. She brings him
home to give him food and wash his face, she says Then it will get washed tonight,

receive disability benefits as a result. Peripheral neuropathy is a result of damaged
message carrying nerves throughout parts of the body that are unable to deliver
information to the brain and spinal cord. A person s ability to perform in any given
work place can be greatly affected by this.
While there are a variety of medical conditions which go hand in hand with peripheral
neuropathy, diabetes is the most common. When nerves which transmit painand other
signals to the brain are damaged due to regularly high blood sugar levels, diabetic
neuropathy can occur.

Causes Of The Treaty Of Versailles
World War I was a major conflict fought in Europe and around the world between
1914 until 1918. In the end, the countries were striving to recover from World War
1 and were in need of a treaty to prevent any future war from occurring. The
countries came to an agreement and decided to create the Treaty of Versailles. This
treaty was made to end the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers, but
Germany was not allowed to attend the Conference so they had no say in the terms
that were discussed. The Allies punished Germany in the Treaty of Versailles
because
of 1) pressure put on the allied countries by civilians to discipline Germany and 2)
the strong feeling that Germany should pay for all of the damage and destruction
caused by the war considering they were a major cause of starting it. The terms of
the Treaty of Versailles caused Germany to lose everything territory, money due to
reparations, alliances, military control, disarmament, and worst their pride;
essentially Germany had to take full blame for the war. These terms were made to
prevent Germany from exercising such aggression in the future. In reality, what
ended up transpiring was that the Treaty gave Germany even more hatred to the
point where they were looking for anything who could fix all of the ongoing
problems they were facing this setup Adolf Hitlers rise up to power. Hitler s rise to
power was formed not only by the Treaty of Versailles, but also by his nazi
propaganda, his fiery public speaking
The Egyptian Pyramids
1.In figure 3 6 the form of the capital was inspired papyrus blossoms, plant stems
and mats found in the Lower and Upper Egypt to celebrate the Jubilee Festival that
reaffirmed the royal existence. When they say these are engaged columns is
means they are attached. The capitals are important because it is the earliest
known stone columns in the history of architecture. 2.The Egyptian Pyramids
were built as Pharaohs Burial Chambers. The pyramids were built out of solid
blocks of quarried limestone of the Gizeh. The techniques of building the pyramid
were hypothesize the work men had to cut into the rock and move large blocks
roughly equal size using copper chisels and wooden mallets. They also cut deep
into tunnel to find high quality stone that were free of cracks and other flaws. The
stone were removed from the bedrock with wooden levers and transported to the
building site and dressed. The small blocks were carried on the workmen s
shoulders or on the back of donkey, which the larger blocks were carried on
wooden rollers and sleds. The artisans dressed the blocks by chiseling, pounding,
rubbing and grinding the surface with fine polishing stones (Gardner s pg. 62) These
pyramids are different from the Mesopotamian Ziggurats, in that the pyramids were
built to serve as tombs for the pharaohs and their families and to protect their
mummified bodies, possessions in the afterlife and to symbolize the presence of their
absolute and god like power. Whereas, unlike the
Titus The King
Wearing his blue robe, embroidered with the royal crest, and the black metal
crown that was made at the castle blacksmith shop, the king appeared to be
worried or troubled. With his right hand resting on the handle of his long sword, he
would occasionally stroke his beard, which like hair is completely white, with his
left hand. With a stern and demanding look on his face, the king made eye contact
with each person sitting on the other side of the table as he walked by. Stopping
when he got to Titus, the king looked the boy for a moment, then started to walk
away. Stopping he turned to look at the boy again. He has seen the lad scurrying
around the cattle from time to time. Titus, he recalled, was always on the move,

However, he has enough freckles on his face and arms to fill a small water bucket.
Over the years, so many people have made comments about his freckles that he is
not sure if he should be proud or ashamed of them. There is absolutely no reason to
be embarrassed by your freckles, His mentor the royal wizard says. Look at them
as memory spots, every time you learn something new, you get another one. In fact,
he has so many freckles that some of his friends call him spots, a nickname that he
has grown use too. . No one is sure of how old the boy is because, both his father, a
knight, and his mother were killed several years ago while fighting off the Vikings
who invaded the castle. Herman the royal wizard, a gray headed older man of
average height and slender build, with a slight hunch to his upper body, a long
time friend of the family, took the boy in, and is raising him as his own son. The
wizard, sitting between two knights decked out in their shiniest armor, is usually

The trend was for writers to present a realistic portrait of city life. Artists also began
to depict the perils and grim realities of city life. Their efforts marked the beginning
of modernism , embracing new subjects and new forms. Darwin s theory of Natural
Selection became widely accepted. This theory met widespread resistance but the
theory eventually was ingrained in universities and schools. While Darwinism
picked up steam in the cities, religious fundamentalism continued to dominate in
rural communities. William and Henry James ushered in Pragmatism which held
that modern society should rely for guidance not on inherited ideals and moral
principles but on the test of scientific inquiry. No idea was valid unless it stood the
test of experience. In 1860, there were 100 public high schools. By 1900, there
were 6,000 and by 1914, there were over 12,000. Laws made education compulsory
but rural areas lagged behind. 1879: Richard Henry Pratt s Carlisle Indian

An Angry God Edwards
Hailey Smith September 14, 2015
Essay
Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God Jonathan Edwards memorable sermon,
Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God , was first delivered in 1741 in Enfield,
Connecticut during the peak of New England s first Great Awakening. When he
delivered this sermon with horrid descriptions of hell, the congregation listened. It
left a dramatic effect on the listeners leaving them weeping, and some even
considering suicide! Jonathan Edwards conveyed his message to turn their lives back
to religion and repent to their god by his use of tone, emotional appeal, and imagery.
To begin, Jonathan Edwards got his message across to the congregation by his use of
tone. Edwards used repetition throughout his sermon to express ... Show more content

Unconverted men walk over the pit of hell on a rotten covering... (Edwards 122).
Here he is giving very vivid imagery. He is showing that unconverted men, or
people not reborn again, are walking a very thin line to an unpleasant afterlife. The
God that holds you over the pit of hell, much as one holds a spider, or some
loathsome insect over the fire, abhors you, and is dreadfully provoked:his wrath
towards you burns like fire...: (Edwards 123). In this metaphor Edward does a
perfect job of comparing a spider to them. He is saying that they unworthy, like a
spider, and that they are worthy of nothing else but the fire. You hang by a slender
thread, with the flames of divine wrath flashing about it... and you have no interest
in any Mediator, and nothing to lay hold of to save yourself, nothing to keep off the
flames of wrath, nothing of your own, nothing that you ever have done, nothing that
you can do, to induce God to spare you one moment... (Edwards 124) In the section
Edwards is trying to have the crowd imagine themselves hanging by a very small
thread, with nothing to help them. Nothing in the moment can help them with their
fate, and it has already been decided what will happen to them. To sum it up, Edward
s sermon is filled with an abundance of imagery to frighten listeners into seeking God
and avoiding

Analysis Of The Book Marchers Of The Night
Whats In The Night The retelling of spooky ghost stories has been a favorite
activity in many cultures, wether it be around a campfire of written in various
articles and book. Perhaps one of the most mysterious supernatural activities can be
reported on the islands of Hawaii. Known as the Night Marchers, these spirits have
been known to roam the land, revisiting ancient war sites and significant historical
landmarks. In the book, Marchers of the Night by Helen P. Hoyt, a renowned
Hawaiian author, he describes his first experience with the Huaka ipo, or the Night
Marchers. In all the hundred years of my life I have seen the Marchers of the Night,
the Huaka ipo, only twice... (Hoyt 1969). He then continues to explain how on the
night of the sixth of August, 1918, a night sacred to Ku, ancient god of all warriors
the Night Marchers, which their torches and pounding drums came to his house in
the town of Waianae. Based on the many stories about the Night Marchers and the
other cultures around the world who have similar spirits, I will attempt to
demonstrate that these ghosts are more fact than fiction. Hawaiihas a rich background
of folklores and mythology and it s link to the past in ever present. Stories of the
Night Marchers were first written about in the late 1900 s but they were orally
passed down long before that. Their native name is Huaka ipo, but was translated to
english as the Night Marchers. The term derives from the two words, huaka i which
means to

Intake 3 Days The purpose of this assignment is to track and display the food
choices we make and the way we eat affects our lifestyle and health. This paper
addresses my personal food intake for the past three days. Next I will compare my
food choices with my WileyPlus profile and determine whether I am maintaining
healthy eating habits. There are foods that a person can eat in order to make sure
that the daily required intake is being made. Sometimes it is really hard for a
person like me to make sure I eat all the foods that I am supposed to so that I can
consume all the nutrients that my body needs in a day. I know I will need to modify

If a person constantly eats too little proteins they can become susceptible to
disease, it can cause a person to develop anemia, dry skin can develop and in
women their bones can become brittle. If a person does not have enough
carbohydrates in their diet they can develop malnutrition which is also called lack
of calories. If a person does not have enough lipids in their diet it can also cause
serious health risks. Fat provides nutrients for the body and supports the body s
basic function. Lack of this macronutrient can cause problems with a person s
immune system, skin and vision. My fiber intake does not meet the requirements
of the recommendation for me as calculated in the iProfile website 100% because
my intake was way too low. My recommended intake for fiber was 64g 112g and
my intake was only 44g. My three day intake of food did not meet the minimum
number of servings of foods from each fiber containing groups. Both fruits and
vegetables fell short of the recommended intake that was required of me. The foods
that provided the most fiber in my days meals were salad, pizza, and corn flakes.
The foods that provided the least amount of fiber were eggs. Trends in my food
choice that may affect my fiber intake would be the places I choose to eat or simply
eating out. Changes that I would make among my vegetables, fruits, meat and meat
alternatives and grain choices to increase my fiber intake would be to eat whole fruits
instead of drinking fruit juice,
Sylvia Plath s Depression
Suicide, depression, death when one hears the name Sylvia Plath , these are the
words that come to mind. It seems that her death is all she is remembered for.
However, Plath s writing is much more than just a diary of her darkest thoughts and
experiences. Plath s writing has much more depth; her lifetime of achievements
should not be reduced to the final hours of her life. Plath is able to discuss her
depression, while also addressing the hardships of the 1950 s and the difficult times
she had to overcome throughout her life, which eventually lead to her depression
and suicide. Sylvia Plath expresses her dissatisfaction regarding her own losses in
Daddy , Mirror , and Ariel with the tumultuous times she was living in. Sylvia Plath

The Fun They Had By Issac Asimov
The story The Fun They Had, by Issac Asimov relates to Oxford High School in
many different ways. The story talks about a boy finding an actual paper book to
read, instead of reading a book online. This relates to our school because now, in
2017, most of everything we do is online. We do assignments online, take tests
online, and even read online. Margie, the young girl, was confused on why Tommy
would pick out a book on school. She absolute dreaded school, but she had no idea
about any school 66 years ago. She learned that kids actually came to a building, sat
in a class with other people, and had an actual human teacher. This applies to OHS
because we come to a building, have class with other people, and have an actual
teacher. OHS is
An Evaluation Of Building Envelopes
An evaluation of building envelopes
The idea of twinning the exterior of a building to the interior sustainable qualities is
ingenious and responds well to threat created from climate change. The movement in
the attention paid to envelopes is fascinating as it has responded to a trend in external
aesthetics and together they unite. A particularly attractive feature regarding this is
the function of being automated or manually controlled, and by this, architects
immediately think of different ways in which day lighting, ventilation and heating
can be integrated into a sustainable design. With such a vast scale of development
in this sector of architectural design, it is at a large disadvantage that the prices of
the materials required are at such a high cost, therefore hindering access to the
general public. In order to improve accessibility, it may be viable to look at making
materials much more available at much more affordable rate. Giving the user the
option to change the way in which they live is an innovative idea which encourages
the growth of much more modern technology. It encourages much more appreciation
for the space in which one lives. This therefore persuades much more sustainable
living.
We do not need more economic growth as we need to relearn the ancient lessons of
generosity, as trustees for a moment between those who precede us and those who
will follow. Our greatest needs have nothing to do with the possession of things but
rather with heart, wisdom,

Abel Janszoon Tasman (1603 1659) was a noted Dutch explorer, merchant, reliable
navigator and naval captain. He is credited with the exploration and charting of
much of the Indian and South Pacific Oceans, discovery of the Van Diemen Land

Freedom And Freedom In Hobbes s Leviathan
Freedom and liberty are both somewhat irrelevant concepts in Hobbes s Leviathan.
Although he would argue that the type of regime in power has no real effect
whatsoever on the freedom of its populace, his focus in writing Leviathan is not to
create a form of government that allows its people to be most free. Rather, he
intends to create a government which would most fully provide for the safety of
those ruled by it. As such, freedom and liberty in the conventional sense do not
appear in his text and he instead focuses on security and fear. Hobbes s first
definition of freedom is interesting in that it is a very literal interpretation thereof. He
states that Liberty, or Freedom, signifieth (properly) the absence of opposition (by
opposition,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The regime is not what determines liberty, but rather the laws that that regime
enacts. For Hobbes, every regime has one sovereign that is able to rule with
unlimited power. Even in a democracy, Hobbes argues that the electorate combines
to create one single sovereign and that power is not split equally among each voter.
As aforementioned, Hobbes does not argue that a regime can never infringe upon
the liberty of its citizens. He concedes that if a sovereign begins to enact an excess
of laws then there are some scenarios within which the overloading of laws could
infringe upon the citizens liberty. It is important to note, however, that no matter
what laws the sovereign establishes, nor how intruding upon one s liberty they
appear to be, they will never be unjust. As Hobbes says nothing the sovereign
representative can do to a subject, on what pretence soever, can properly be called
injustice, or injury, because every subject is author of every act the sovereign doth,
(138). This ties back to the original covenant that all citizens agree upon at the
inception of the Commonwealth, where they all authorize the sovereign to perform
every action the sovereign deems
Melania Trump Case Study
During the one on one interview of Melania Trump that was hosted by Anderson
Cooper; which aired on CNN Anderson Cooper 360 October 17, 2016, was thought
provoking. One reason being her husband, Donald Trump has been openly critical
of CNN s coverage, referring to it as Clinton News Network . Many viewers were
surprised that Melania decided to give CNN this interview so quickly after her
husband recorded tapes of him sexualizing women were leaked. The host and
interviewer Anderson Cooper is a television host, author and journalist. He is best
known for being the primary anchor of the CNN news show Anderson Cooper

The interview itself came off as somewhat uncomfortable and slightly hard to
understand Melania at times. What I initially noticed was that they were both sitting
a good length away from each other. Each of them sitting with shoulders pushed back
and sitting straight while giving one another direct eye contact. Melania has a thick

hands when he started to ask another question. He did, however, keep them above his
knee, but below his collarbone, any higher he may have unintentionally come off as
agitated. This type of body language let me know he was either trying to get more

Kant s Critique Of Pure Reason
Kant s view
In Kant s Critique of Pure Reason, there is an engagement with Leibnizian relative
time and space, and the Newtonian absolute time and space. An antimony is defined
as a contradiction between two statements, both supposedly obtained via sound
reasoning and judgement. Kant s first antinomy of is of space and time. The
hypothesis or thesis is that the world is limited in relation to space, and has a
beginning in time. The null hypothesis or antithesis is the world has no limits in
relation to both time and space, and is therefore infinite. Though Kant initially sided
with Leibniz in his early years, before switching to Newton, he began to distinguish
himself between the two in what is known as his Copernican Turn. As Inhas Ben Zvie

only that in the empirical regress I can always attain only to a condition that must

inquire after a higher member of the series, whether or not this member may come

cannot know any empirical regress. Our formalisations of the world build
indeterminately and reason cannot exceed the limits of the understanding. As such,
the dichotomy between bound (absolute) and unbound (un absolute) space is based
upon a flawed premise. Namely that our contortion of space and time as faculties
outside of our understanding, exist. In this sense, Kant sides with Leibniz in his
point that space does not hold metaphysical and logical superiority over physical
bodies. Kant differs from Leibniz in his point that space can be explained as the
relation between physical bodies, and time can be explained as the relation between
events. It is in that act of explanation that Leibniz exceeds the faculty of

Importance Of The Internet Of Things Essay
Importance of the Internet of Things The term internet of things (IoT) has been
around for a while. In simple terms, it refers to the connectivity between different
kinds of technology. A good example of this is the Apple Watch, which was launched
in the UK in June 2015. The watch is suited to each wearer, collects information
about them and communicates the data to their iPhone. The idea behind the Apple
Watchis to understand your needs and to send out messages to programmable devices
around you to meet your requirements. This is one way in which technologyis being
adapted to be incorporated into our lifestyle and support our daily routine.
Technology is connected via sensors within the machines. A sensor is not exactly a
machine itself, but it is a very important part of it as a whole. This is the part which
transmits data. Once the data is gathered and transmitted, there must be a way to
store it and analyze it when it reaches its destination. To do this, cloud based
applications are the only way to interpret, transmit and store data coming from other
devices. These applications enable apps to collect data and store it at any time.
The whole idea behind the Internet of Things is to make the world around us more
intelligent and save time by using technology, which is valuable to all businesses.
CCS specialize in providing services to meet all technology and communication needs
for businesses, including cloud based solutions and business broadband services. As
High Value Work Is The Indisputable Tool Of Sustainable...
In a precipitous changing world, organisations and nations will need to consistently
undertake transformational changes to increase high value work, in order to sustain
living standards and remain competitive. Accordingly, high value work is at the
forefront of competition! Driving innovation, productivity and growth. Consequently,
high value work is the indisputable tool of sustainable competitive advantage. At the
core of this approach, is complex, high skilled and intellectually demanding
manufacturing organisations. Additionally, these endeavours will need a flexible,
diverse and highly skilled workforce to acquire the capacity to capitalise on
opportunities, and exploit changes in technology that present themselves. Complexity
will be the defining factor in these transformational changes, and how organisations
and nations harness this complexity will be central to their success. Hierarchical
organisations: Traditionally, large hierarchical organisations developed to organise
and allocate resources to initiatives that increase certainty and predictability with the
sole intention of maximising quality and on time performance. As a consequence of
those endeavours, organisations are highly resistant to change and disruption. In
addition, as the rate of customer demands and market disruption accelerates, obsolete
hierarchical organisations will face the destructive headwinds of change and
corporate inertia. Furthermore, because of their very nature, they will also

Horton Foote Biography
Horton Foote once said, I have enormous respect for the human being because they
re asked to take on a lot. And I don t think there s any easy solution. But I think the
journey is what you have to finally be satisfied with, but not be afraid of the lessons
one has to learn... it ends up as grace. And you grow; you find a way to continue .
Foote was an ambitious man who kept a family while he became a legend to the
world through his acting career, as a screen writer, and as a novelist. Born in 1916
in Wharton, Texas, Horton Foote had two younger brothers, which one died in aerial
combat over Germany. He was married to Lillian Vallish Footed for forty seven years
until her death in 1992. They had four children together, Horton Foote, Jr. an... Show

After the success of that play, Foote wrote a full length play called the Texas Town
which was in production with the American Actors Company in 1941. Foote took
the lead in Texas Town. New York Times theater critic Brooks Atkinson showed up
at the performance and praised the play as, according to Hampton, an engrossing
portrait of small town life (2010). For sixty years, Foote had a career as a
playwright, television and film screenwriter, and novelist. He stayed strong to his
roots and adapted the Southern writing. His great nine play The Orphan s Home is
based on his parents. Times drama critic Frank Rich, he was a major American
dramatist whose epic body of work recalls Chekhov in its quotidian comedy and
heartbreak, and Faulkner in its ability to make his own corner of America stand for
the whole (2013). Foote s fame grew from his script of To Kill a Mockingbird. The
film shows Foote s sensitivity and artistry on every frame, but its mass appeal owes
a great deal to elements not characteristic of his original work (2004). Horton Foote s
playwrights were always unique in topics like music, dance, poetry, and fiction. Foote
was a generous spirit and always energetic. During the 1950 s Foote made some
Broadway productions like the The Trip to Bountiful in 1953. However the 1950 s
were about the televised shows like the Studio One and Playhouse 90. Horton Foote
Billy Budd Outsider
Herman Melville s Billy Budd is about a young and inexperienced sailor named
Billy Budd. Billy Budd was removed from the Rights of Man, a merchant ship, and
was placed on a warship called the H.M.S. Indomitable. Billy is often referred to as
the Handsome Sailor because he has no physical flaws. However, Billy has a stutter,
a speech impediment, when he is overcome with emotion. The master at arms on the
H.M.S. Indomitable, John Claggart, dislikes Billy Buddand is jealous of his features.
Claggart decides to devote all of his time to damaging Billy s reputation on the ship.

Captain Vere is seen as an insider for most of the story because he is well respected

personality and lack of human connections become evident when he is faced with
this momentous decision. Captain Vere rarely has to face problems at sea because
he is well respected on the war ship. Calhoun emphasizes Captain Vere s status on the

of the novella, does seemingly mark him as an Insider (4). Captain Vere s decision
to obey the law and hang Billy Budd permanently marked him as an insider because
he did not give Billy any special treatment. By treating Billy different than the other

The dystopian element is similar to source #1 the host because they both have
citizens who want to take their world back. Within the movie Demolition Man the
main character John Spartan choses to lead a rebellion against the new
government leader because of his unjust ways of living. John goes down into the
under living areas where people don t follow the rules up above and have their
own way of living. The sewer people consider John to be a blessing in disguise
causing them to get riled up and deciding to kill Dr. Raymond Cocteau. Demolition
Man shows how citizens conform to uniform expectations and rebel by the sewer
people deciding to kill Dr. Raymond Cocteau the leader of the normal world. This
is also demonstrated in The Host when Melanie beings to take back her own body
and rebels against Wanda. The Sewer people in Demolition Man effect the society
up above because they take their food also show them their way of living by
wearing whatever they want and doing whatever they want. Inside the dystopian
society another main character Simon Phoenix breaks many laws also getting a
small amount of people to follow him into battle against the above world. Simone
leads with John Spartan in order to get their city back to the way it was originally
and towards the end of the movie they succeed. After Simone kills Dr. Cocteau
John leads the sewer people up from under the world and shows them their new
world they then begin to ignore all of the old laws and the citizens from up above
follow the new rules and many continue to join making their new world. This finale
act of rebellion shows how even small acts can lead to big changes. The dystopian
element of citizens conform to uniform expectations and rebel act as a bonding path
of Demolition man and the host as both main characters cause a rebellion so big that
they end up

that the organisation will fail in achieving its goals and objectives more so, if there
is lack of encouragement in terms of motivation as regards to salaries or better still
working hours of the employees are not suitable for them the level of absenteeism
will rise and recruiting an inexperience managers will only worsen the case.
Organisations should be very careful when choosing the managementstyle in order
not to create chaos within the employees and also chose a suitable management
style that welcomes equality and diversity principles so as to create a good working
atmosphere and embrace all cultures within and outside the organisation
environment. There are several ways to correct all these problems in an organisation
and for the purpose of this course work, i will start to address the issue one after the

My father had the most influence on me, Sulliman said. We had that rink and we
were on it all the time. Coming home from work, he d always be out there
shoveling it off and watering it down. Buddy Sulliman, by the way, suited up with
the 1955 56 Glace Bay Cinderella Miners hockey team that we featured recently on
these pages. In his day, Dad was a real tough player who had a reputation, said
Sulliman. I used to watch him play when I was a kid and I thought games only
lasted one period because he d always have his gear over his shoulder because he
got thrown out for fighting or something. He once told me, If you get into a fight
on the ice, let the other guy know he was in one. That bit of advice lasted
throughout my entire career. Of course, minor hockey played an enormous role in
Sulliman s upbringing. The venue for his games and practice sessions was the once
historic Glace Bay Miners Forum, which has since been replaced by the Bayplex

Essay On Machine Learning Classifiers And Feature
Extractors
3.Methods and Experimental design
Our approach is to analyse the sentiments using machine learning classifiers and
feature extractors. The machine learning classifiers are Naive Bayes, Maximum
Entropy and Support Vector Machines (SVM). The feature extractors are unigrams
and unigrams with weighted positive and negative keywords. We build a framework
that treats classifiers and feature extractors as two distinct components. This
framework allows us to easily try out different combinations of classifiers and feature
extractors.
3.1Emoticons
Since the training process makes use of emoticons as noisy labels, it is crucial to
discuss the role they play in classification. we striped the emoticons out from the
training data. If we leave ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Repeated letters Tweets contain very casual language. For example, if you search
hungry with an arbitrary number of u‟s in the middle (e.g. huuuungry,
huuuuuuungry, huuuuuuuuuungry) on Twitter, there will most likely be a
nonempty result set. We use preprocessing so that any letter occurring more than two
times in a row is replaced with two occurrences. In the samples above, these words
would be converted into the token hungry .
Table 2 shows the effect of these feature reductions. These reductions shrink the
feature set down to 8.74% of its original size. Table 2. Effect of Feature Reduction

After preprocessing the training set data which consists of 9666 positive tweets, 9666
negative tweets and 2271 neutral tweets, we compute the feature vector as below:
Unigrams As shown in Table 2, at the end of preprocessing we end up with 24309
features which are unigrams and each of the features have equal weights.

The unigram feature vector is the simplest way to retrieve features from a tweet. The
machine learning algorithms perform average with this feature vector. One of the
reasons for the average performance might be the smaller training
What Is The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button Essay
I chose to write a journal in Benjamin Button s words based on the original literary
text: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Details about how
his life went throughout the years are mentioned in this assignment to have a
consistent connection to the original story.
Although the condition that Mr. Button was living has a huge impact on how he
lives, how everyone around him behaves, he still loves them. He has got a positive
attitude about how his life would go on despite he is getting younger. He never
gives up on his work and life. He is the inspiration for the people who has similar

Courtship Rituals
In my opinion courtship rituals have drastically changed over time but have also still
held onto some aspects of romance, dating, and traditions that couples set early on.
Courtship rituals are the traditions during a certain period of time where two people
get to know each other before striving to marry their significant other. Courtship
rituals can vary depending on the culture and the people using it. Many have mixed
opinions on the topic. Nowadays, relationships can be tricky and are nothing like the
movies. Datingpractices differ now from the late 1900 s and early 2000 s. For this
essay I have decided to interview my younger cousin, who is fourteen years old.
Through the interview process she gave me the insight of younger teens and preteens
dating. Communication, social presence, and technology have changed the ways
relationships are viewed and acted upon.
Dating had almost completely replaced the old system of calling by the mid 1920s
and, in so doing, had transformed American courtship. An excerpt from Beth L.
Bailey s book, From Front Porch to Back Seat: Courtship in Twentieth Century

Keeping in touch, when it comes to good or bad news or just wanting to talk to the
other technology have made it incalculably easier now. For committed couples, this
is a good thing because before in earlier time periods when one was gone for

With the advancement of technology couples who either met online or had to split

keep the two together. Some would even call these factors of dating a giant leap of

Nietzsche Good And Evil
In the first essay of On The Genealogy of Morals, Nietzsche states clearly his stand
that Beyond Good and Evil... does not mean Beyond Good and Bad (Nietzsche, page
143). Nietzsche makes the distinction between good/bad, and good/evil, by
delineating the central idea that what is good and evilgenerally carries a morality to
its definitions, whereas the former is essentially a social construct with slanted
purposes and no true objectivity to its meanings. Nietzsche frames the idea that the
values of good and bad, are fundamental to how we involve morality in our thinking,
namely, how we assess what is good and what is evil.
Nietzsche introduces the initial concepts of what is good to be determined by those
who have benefitted from unegoistical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It does not find its root and origin in objective circumstances; it originates from a
place of suppression, of seeking freedom, and most significantly, of ressentiment.
Herein the idea Nietzsche proposes is that the slaves are responsive against their
noble masters because they are weak and impotent, leading to the festering of hatred
and resentment. This means that values culminating from the revolt would be
inaccurate in representing the true meaning of good or evil , because they were
formed through the tainted lens of the slaves of ressentiment. They would portray
the slaves, the weak, and the powerless as good and favourable, while casting the
nobles, the masters, and the upperclassmen in an evil and malicious light. This
inverts the original notion that the nobles are the definition of good . Nietzsche
expounds this situation by clarifying that the nobles become blond beast[s]
(Nietzsche, page 128) when out of their familiar circumstances, insinuating that
they turn into a barbaric state where they seek victory over those who are inferior
to them. In turn, displays of brutality will be expressed, as a by product of this
barbarism and therefore, fulfilling the morality of the nobles as evil . Nietzsche also
expresses that this form of morality may not always be beneficial; it cages the
Stockholm Syndrome In Beauty And The Beast
Both the protagonists in the Beauty in the Beast trope display the characteristics of
Stockholm syndrome. Beauty and the Beast is a tale that has withstood time. The
tale can be traced back to 2nd century AD Cupid and Psyche by Lucius Apuleius
Madaurensis. Stockholm syndrome is a psychological syndrome in which a person
being held captive begins to identify with and grow sympathetic to his or her captor
(Stockholm Syndrome 1). There are three main psychological characteristics to
Stockholm syndrome, the first being that the hostage develops positive feelings
towards their captor, the second being that the captor also develops feelings for the
hostage, and the final one being that the hostage has negative feelings towards the
authorities... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first characteristic of Stockholm syndrome is the hostage develops positive
feelings towards their captor and sympathizes with them. In The Toad (1869) by
François Marie Luzel the beauty displays the first characteristic of Stockholm
syndrome and ends up developing feelings for the beast, which is a toad in this
version. The toad forces the father to give him one of his daughter so the youngest
daughter becomes his hostage and succumbs to the disgusting toad s wishes and
marries him. An example of the female lead displaying her positive feelings for the
toad is when the toad leaves her and she continues pursuing him despite the toad
becoming abusive and punching her in the face (Luzel 228). Namyak et al. a group
of researchers from the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in London
state this bond develops as part of the victim s defense mechanism to allow them to
sympathize with their captor, leading to an acceptance of the situation, limiting
defiance⁄aggression toward the captor and thus maintaining survival in an
otherwise potentially high risk scenario (4 5). This proves that she has developed
Stockholm syndrome for survival purposes because Beauty is at risk so she is
forced to have positive feelings for the toad and love him despite the unhappiness of
being torn away from her father and siblings. The maiden searches for the toad for
two years straight out of her devotion and positive feelings towards him. The maiden

Gummi Bear Lab Report
Question: Will changing the water temperature affect how quickly a gummi bear
dissolves in water?
Hypothesis: If the temperature of the water is warmer, then the gummi bear will
decrease more quickly in size than compared to cooler temperatures.
Materials:
Gather the following materials including:
safety equipment including: goggles, gloves, and apron
two 25 mL beakers
one graduated cylinder
one thermometer
one hot plate
8 red gummi bears from the same brand
20 mL of normal tap water in each beaker
one balance measured in grams
forceps
paper towels
Procedure:
1.Gather all the materials listed above.
2.Include data tables in your experiment by doing two trials.
3.Record the temperature ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All four gummi bears had a mass of 2.5 g. Gummi bears one and two, which were
our control gummi bears, were placed in the same beaker of water which had an
original temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. After the 10 minutes had passed of
keeping them in the water, the mass of each gummi bear had increased slightly.
However, when we placed gummi bears 3 and 4 in the water, which measured 52
degrees Celsius, we observed that both gummi bears had completely dissolved in
the water even before the 10 minutes were up. For trial two, we witnessed similar
results occur. When doing trial two, the mass of gummi bears number five and six
had a mass of 2.5g. Then after placing gummi bears number five and six in the the
water, which sustained a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, the mass of both the
gummi bears had increased, similar to gummi bears one and two in the trial one.
Then for the final part of trial 2, we placed gummi bears number seven and eight in
water, which had a temperature of 67 degrees Celsius. When the 10 minutes were
completed both gummi bears had dissipated in the water. In conclusion, from both
of these trials we believe that the temperature of the water plays a huge role in the
increasing or decreasing of a gummi bear s mass. When the temperature was lower
it seemed as though the mass of the gummi bear would increase from the absorption
of the water that was in the beaker. However, whenever the water was warmer, it
seemed as though the gummi bears would quickly disintegrate in the water. Overall,
the increase in temperature of the water has a great effect on the mass of the gummi

Analysis Of Julie Mehretu s Paintings
Julie Mehretu s paintings are loosely termed history paintings by Douglas Fogle
and called psychogeographies by the artist herself. A viewer is supposed to find
something in themselves much like exploring a city and figuring things out for one
s own self interest. Mehretu is quoted as saying my aim is to have a picture that
appears one way from a distance almost like a cosmology, city, or universe from afar
but then when you approach the work, the overall image shatters into numerous other
pictures, stories, and events. Historically drawing is seen as inferior to paintingwhich
makes it interesting that Julie Mehretu would employ so much drawing into her
canvases because drawing is important to architectural drawings. How does the
mapping nature of Julie Mehretu s paintings convey a sense of identity in a very
political nature and how is it a representation of the post colonialist world in which
we inhabit? Scholars all seem to agree that Mehretu s canvases are maps, but what
do they seek to accomplish? My analysis of Mehretu s Stadia III will use a
biographical and post colonialist methodology to explore the ways in which Mehretu
s own upbringing and how the very nature of her mapmaking, though very artificial,
can be seen as a way of both bringing us together and giving those groups that have
previously been neglected throughout history a voice.

Fixed Asset Turnover
Inventory turnover ratios are the number of times a business sells and replaces its
inventory. The inventory turnover was four times above industry average, but has
since decrease below industry level for 2013 through 2016.
Fixed Asset Turnover
The fixed Asset shows how well the business is using its fixed assets to produce
sales. The fixed asset turnover started high in 2012 and then started to decrease fast
in 2013. As of the last three years the rate has been constant.
Fixed Charge Coverage
The fixed charge coverage ratio dealings with a firm s ability to satisfy fixed
charges, such as interest expense and lease expense. Kirkland`s provides creditors
with a smaller margin, an elevated level of risk than the average firm in the industry.
Constitutional Conflict of the Dealth Penalty Essay
Constitutional Conflict of the Dealth Penalty The courts positions of the death
penalty has changed over the years. For centuries societies have used death as the
ultimate penalty for crime. In the 1960 s, the court ruled against the death penalty as
a cruel and unusual punishment , which was forbidden by the eighth amendment of
the Constitution. By the 1990 s the death penalty was again in wide use supported by
the court and Congress, which continually expanded by legislation the crimes for
which death would be an acceptable penalty. Supreme Court cases that have felt the
death penalty was unconstitutional include Roberts vs. Louisiana and Furman vs.
Georgia. Roberts vs. Louisiana, (1976) was a case that tried Robert, who... Show

These circumstances included air craft highjacking; treason; murder for hire; murder
of a judicial officer, policeman, or fireman in line of duty; and murder by a person
with a previous record of violent crime. This decision made it clear that the justices
did not consider the death penalty per say to be cruel and unusual punishment in the
sense intended by the constitution. (Davis, 196 197). The justices reaffirmed what an
unbiased historical and legal analysis would reveal every time that our forefathers
were not against Capitol Punishment but against the misapplication of punishment
bringing about injustice. Philosophically speaking there is a strange twist in logic to
call Capitol Punishment inhuman or cruel. The inhumanity and cruelty was the crime
that called for capitol consequences. The inhuman act was performed by the criminal
in murder not on the criminal through capitol punishment. It can be argued that if one
were to mandate a life sentence for a murderer that it is cruel and inhumane to
expose inmates, guards and counselors to a volatile criminal. In fact there are many
cases of murderers killing innocent victims while incarcerated. Was it cruel and
inhumane to sustain the life of such a criminal so that he was given further
opportunity to carry out his evil ways? The worth of the
Comparison Of Modernism In A Streetcar Named Desire
And A...
The word modernism in literature means something new and untraditional that
reevaluates the accepted principles of our world. Modernism is a style of writing
that became popular in the early 1900 s. This style was developed in the period of
WWI, a time of many important social changes. A Streetcar Named Desire and A
Long Day s Journey Into Night are two plays that exemplify the style of modernism.
Journey is a modernist novel with a tragic storyline about the Tyrone family. The
main conflict in Streetcar is modernist because of the traditional, fundamentalist
thinking. Each of these plays contains a character who represents a very important
aspect of modernist literature: the burden of the past. This device is used distinctively
in each of these two plays. While some similarities between Blanche Duboisand Mary
Tyrone are evident, their differences are notable.
Blanche Dubois, from A Streetcar Named Desire, carries the heavy burden of her
past. Blanche was in love with a young man. She discovered her husband in bed with
an older man, someone whom she had believed was just his friend. When confronted
about the incident, he took his own life by shooting himself in the head.
Compounding the sorrow of her husband s violent suicide, Blanche becomes
increasingly fragile with the loss of the DuBois family home, Belle Reve. After the
death of her parents, she goes through many financial and personal struggles. Blanche
has always been burdened by her tormenting past, the loss of

Essays On Emotions.pdf

  • 1. Essays On Emotions Crafting an essay on the intricate and multifaceted subject of emotions can be both a challenging and rewarding endeavor. Emotions, being inherently complex and subjective, require a nuanced exploration that delves into the realms of psychology, philosophy, and even neuroscience. The difficulty lies in capturing the essence of these intangible experiences and translating them into words that resonate with readers. Navigating through the vast array of emotions, from the subtle nuances of joy and contentment to the depths of sorrow and despair, demands a keen understanding of human psychology. Furthermore, delving into the cultural and societal influences on emotional expression adds another layer of complexity to the writing process. Balancing the scientific understanding of emotions with the personal and cultural aspects requires finesse and a deep appreciation for the intricacies of the human experience. Moreover, the challenge lies in avoiding oversimplification or reductionism, as emotions are not easily compartmentalized or standardized. Each individual's emotional landscape is unique, making it challenging to create a comprehensive and universally applicable narrative. Yet, despite these challenges, the exploration of emotions in essay form provides an opportunity for personal growth and intellectual enrichment. It allows the writer to engage with their own emotions, fostering introspection and empathy. It also provides a platform to connect with readers on a deeply human level, creating a shared understanding of our shared emotional tapestry. In conclusion, while the task of writing an essay on emotions may be daunting, it offers a chance to embark on a profound journey into the complexities of human nature. The challenge is not only to articulate these elusive experiences but also to foster a connection between the writer and the reader through a shared exploration of the rich and diverse landscape of emotions. For those seeking assistance with essays on emotions or any other topic, it's worth considering professional help. Similar essays and a wide range of writing services can be explored and ordered on platforms like HelpWriting.net, providing support for individuals navigating the intricate world of academic and creative writing. • 2. The Origin And Discoveries Of Electricity And Magnetism This paper is mainly about the origin and discoveries of electricity and magnetism. It is solely a summary of two natural phenomenon which have changed everything about our way of life and has ushered us into a remarkable new age. Firstly and most importantly, it is about the underlying idea of how magnetism and electricity have come about, also it outlines and maps out the development and discoveries of sources of electricity and magnetism by many inventors and the latter discoveries of mega production. When I was a little boy, I used to wonder what causes lightning and thunder. When rain comes, I sometimes see intermittent lightning for a while before you can hear the sound of a spark which is like two short circuited power cables. At school, we all learnt about matter, which consists of atoms and molecules and every atom has a nucleus and electron(s), inside the nucleus contains an equal number of protons and neutrons. The electrons revolve round the nucleus of the atom in order to keep it stable. Protons are positively charged particles, neutrons are neutral and electrons are negative charge particles. The nucleus is surrounded by shells; these are simply orbitals in which an electron(s) can be found. The number of orbitals depends on how many electrons the atom has. The electrons which are in the outer most orbitals have a tendency of being lost or shared by another atom in order to create a more stable configuration. Long before any knowledge of electricity existed
  • 3. What Is The Religious Influence Of Leo Tolstoy Leo Tolstoy s religious household, his service in the Russian military during the Crimean War and his time spent traveling abroad, and his descriptive and immersive writing style all come together to make him one of the most highly regarded authors of his time. Being raised in a religious, high class family that was full of death greatly influenced Tolstoy s writing of What I Believe, The Death of Ivan Ilyich, and War and Peace. For example, Tolstoy s heavy religious influence from his family greatly contributed to his writings( Tolstoy, Leo ). Tolstoy s religious influence is shown in his writing of What I Believe. In this piece of literature by Leo Tolstoy, he expresses his thoughts and his own interpretation of Christian theology... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition, Tolstoy s heavy gambling addiction after his resignation from the Russian military contributed immensely into his writings.Tolstoy s addiction to gambling is shown in his writing of The Cossacks ( Tolstoy, Leo ). In Tolstoy s literary work of The Cossacks, the main character named Olenin, has a gambling addiction and sets out to join the military during the Caucasian War. (Lord) Another influence of Tolstoy s writings was the time he had spent traveling abroad in Europe, eventually greatly disliking it ( Family Happiness Lev Tolstoy ). Tolstoy s time abroad influenced many of his pieces such as Family Happiness. In the writing of Tolstoy s Family Happiness, the main protagonist travels to Europe in the book but ends up traveling back to Russia to reclaim her lost happiness, disliking Europe just as Tolstoy had ( Family Happiness Lev Tolstoy ). At the end of things, Tolstoy s writings were immensely
  • 4. The Fire Next Time Summary For the past several years, I ve greeted Ta Nehisi Coates s essays and blog posts for The Atlantic with nothing short of gratitude. As an African American, he makes me proud. There is no other way to put it. I do not always agree with him, but it hardly matters. In a media world populated with pundits, so called experts and public intellectuals driven by ego and familiar agendas, Coates s voice stands nearly alone a black man raised in the streets of Baltimore who narrowly escaped the violence that lurked around every corner and dodged the clutches of the prisons and jails that were built for him, and who now speaks unpopular, unconventional and sometimes even radical truths in his own voice, unfiltered. He is invariably humble, yet subtly defiant. And people listen.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a civil rights lawyer, activist, legal scholar and mother of three black children, I could not wait to read what Coates had to say to black young people at this moment in our history, a time when many are struggling to make sense of how frequently black lives can be destroyed legally through incessant police violence and mass incarceration. I imagined that Coates s new book would make plain for young people what is truly at stake in the struggle and disabuse them of the prevailing myths that breed complacency, defeatism or inaction. That was what The Fire Next Time did for me many years ago (and still does, every time I return to
  • 5. Ginger Snaps Compare And Contrast The movie that I kept thinking about while watching Raw was 2000 s Ginger Snaps. Both are horror movies revolving around a couple of sisters as they discover that their bodies are betraying them and turning them into different types of creatures used as a metaphor to explain something that women go through in their lives. Ginger Snaps had werewolves; Raw has cannibals. Ginger Snaps took place in high school and used its transformation as a puberty metaphor. Raw is in college and uses cannibalism for, well, potentially quite a lot. In some respects, Raw is Ginger Snaps all grown up. Our protagonist is Justine (Garance Marillier), a long term vegetarian who is just starting veterinary school. A hazing prank involves eating meat, something that she initially refuses to do until she s egged on by her older sister, Alexia. This awakens in her a desire for meat and not just from animals. She wants human meat. It doesn t even have to be cooked. While making this shocking discovery, she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This isn t a movie that hopes to make you leap out of your seat when nothing happens by throwing a multitude of jump startles your way. It instead wants to cause a deep unsettling feeling inside your gut as it shows you, well, probably more or less exactly what you expect. Is there a pleasant way to show someone eating another person s raw flesh? If there is, Raw doesn t want to go there. It would ruin the effect. When Raw decides to get gross, it gets really gross and it most definitely has the potential to make you feel uneasy. That feeling of unease isn t just because it s unpleasant to watch people get eaten, either. Raw does a good enough job of establishing Justine as a character and to a lesser extent, Alexia that you worry for where this condition will lead her. You actually begin to care about the cannibal, which is certainly different. It works because the film made her into a person before afflicted with this
  • 6. Teenage Subcultures Fashions it a Way of expressing freedom? Or is it an expression of rebellion? This essay which I would explore is the subculture and expression of teenagers in the late 1950,s known as mods and rockers. The Mods and Rockers rebelled to get recognised out from the crowd. The problems are being seen around that period, with the subcultures in Britain, as teenagers wanted to be different from their parent s way of fashion to partying and to get recognised. The conflict included discussion on social norms but also symbolised fashion freedom. While the approach of the groups may not have been ideal, due to the chaos caused by the two groups, many of them were jailed. The fashion that distinguished each of the groups consisted of suits and smart dressing by the mods, who were working class. Rockers style of dressing, jeans, and leather jackets informed as down market conversely, it has also been utilised as a statement of freedom by those oppressed by government, establishments or regimes. It has also been utilised as a statement of liberty by those oppressed by government, institutions or systems. Buxbaum discusses the idea of fashion as a social phenomenon which links comprehensively to the Mods and Rockers phenomenon. This period gave way to incredible advancement in fashion identity and the economy of fashion. It provides details of certain motivations held by the youth at the time which helps explain some of the shocking sights seen by the British public, and indeed the
  • 7. Specific Connectivity And Its Effect On A Growing Network Specific connectivity is used to prioritize the molecule to add to a growing network. As the network grows, IPA evaluates how much a new gene s neighborhood overlaps the current network and selects the molecule that overlaps the most. Overlap is the number of molecules that are similar compared to the total number of molecules. Specific connectivity is computed by dividing the number of molecules found in the intersection of the neighborhood and the network by the number of molecules in their union If specific connectivity (SC) = (number of genes in intersection of the neighborhood and network) / (number of genes in union of the neighborhood and network) Then: SC for the red molecule = 3/16 = 0.1875 SC for the green molecule = ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They can aid in identifying biological pathways affected by mutated genes. By projecting lists consisting of deleted, amplified and mutated genes onto biological pathways, a statistical improbable subset of unrelated genes would turn out to be closely clustered in reaction space . Pathway analysis can therefore reveal valuable insight into the underling biological causes of a disease. [Wu, Feng and Stein, 2010] Different mutations found in different genes can cause the same Mendelian disease. [Gilissen et al., 2011] For example, in Fanconi anemia, a condition that causes renal, cardiac and limb malformations, mutations in many genes leads to one phenotype. [Neveling et al., 2009] On the other hand, different mutations in the same gene can lead to different phenotypes as is observed in tumor protein p63. Different mutations lead to a number of monogenic malformation syndromes [Brunner, Hamel and Bokhoven, 2002] suggesting that the mutations affect different biological pathways. [Gilissen et al., 2011] In patients with dilated cardiomyopathy Norton et al. 2011 identified missense and truncated mutations in Bcl2 associated athanogene 3 (BAG3). A missense mutation in the BAG3 gene was also found to cause a different condition, myofibrillar myopathy. [Norton et al., 2011] Thus, our rationale is that identifying and understanding how genes (variants) interact and in what biological pathways putative mutations occupy will reveal a more
  • 8. Howard Ritcher s Use Of Colour In Pop Art Artists use colour as a form of expression, this has become a common aspect of contemporary art. Colour today in art is not usually regarded as an embellishment for form but rather as the essential material from which form is created. This changing role of colour has keynoted a general revolution in human thinking, leading to greater visual perceptions. (Sloane, n.d.) Early as 1966, Gerhard Ritcher has created paintings purely based on colour charts, to some this was a complete indifferent composition to produce, however it was seen to perform like a great classical masterpiece (Lubbock, 2011) Gerhard Ritcher s use of colour is excessively influenced and attraction from Pop Art during the 19th century. The use of standard vibrant colours... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to this decline by artists the government decided to ban exhibitions of American Pop Art. This limited Ritcher as he was obligated to stay within the norm of working with landscapes. This ironically influenced Gerhard Ritcher to compose a series of grey paintings that didn t portray any sort of subject. However, with his high practise of colour, he tried to create art without any subject of matter. In some paintings they almost contradict the whole concept of using colour. This is evident in his artwork Green Blue Red . The abstract painting doesn t seem to represent anything due to Ritcher s individual style of brushwork. The background a robust green is underneath a very dark blue which is applied with a squeegee and then a vibrant red. The green and blue almost overtake the red which contradicts the colour perception that says a warm hue will be perceived as the foreground . This is ironic as Gerhard Ritcher s work is heavily colour based, however he doesn t follow the colour perception. This almost evidently portrays his view of preferring to be the unartistic through the use of different tones. Some may interpret being different as a free form to escape from the conscious design and just be able to create something unpredictable...beyond his own horizon of expectations (Hatje
  • 9. Why Should We Be Interested In Stars Alena Calma PCS181 Birth of a Star Why should we be interested in stars? We should be interested in stars because they produce the factors such as light and energy that stirs and heats the gas and dust in space and makes life on planets like Earth possible. To be a star, an object has to have at least about one tenth the mass of the Sun. Any self gravitating cloud that attempts to become a star with less material would never develop the pressures and temperatures in its interior needed for the ignition of the nuclear processes that make stars shine. 2 Brown dwarfs/failed stars Objects that have less than one tenth of the mass of the sun exist but they cannot sustain light for too long. They can glow like normal stars for a few million ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This causes the ball, now a star, to shine. Depending on the mass of the star, they can reach different types of fusion. Normal stars that have a mass of up to 4 times the sun can only have hydrogen fusion, helium fusion, and carbon fission. Stars with a bigger mass is classified as a massive star, and they undergo multiple stages. They start out similar to the normal stars with hydrogen fusion, helium fusion and carbon fission, but continue over to oxygen fusion, and silicon fusion. The end product of Silicon is Iron. No star can fuse Iron, it will die. How much gas and dust is collected during the star s formation determines the size and colour of the star. As time passes by, stars fight the inward pull of the force of gravity. The outward pressure created by the nuclear reactions pushing away from the star s core keeps the star whole. However, these nuclear reactions require hydrogen. Eventually the supply of hydrogen in the core runs out and the star begins to

Under the Executive Order 13112, species are considered invasive if they are an alien species whose introduction does or is likely to cause economic or environmental harm or harm to human health. Aquatic invasive species have been intentionally and unintentionally introduced to other parts of the world through the transportation and release of ballast water, pet trade and aquaculture (Keller et al. 2011, Rahel and Olden 2008). The world has summoned back the gods (aliens), one example of summoning is an outstretched tongue. Intentionally protruding the tongue represents the union of masculine and feminine spirits. This action invokes the demonic spirits of transgender and the she males. The tongue protruding gives these demons permission to come into the world or church. Inconsequential this is why we have transgender and the she males. When Aliens invade, they will have broken no laws and will be free to take over our planet, even though it will be a forcible act. House Brew Vs Brewed At Home Essay House Brew versus Brewed at Home Ever since someone observed energized birds nibbling on its cherries, the coffea plant has invaded global culture with a permanency matched by nothing else. Nowadays, the practice of roasting, grinding, boiling, and ultimately drinking this aromatic chocolate brown liquid can be observed at every corner. Beside the ubiquity of cafГ©s, everything from restaurants to amusement parks sell some form of the revitalizing drink. Similar to anything else with a matching popularity, coffeehas a whole subculture of its own, and not just one. Some can only tolerate the taste of beans dissolved in a French press, others can only indulge in the drink if they grind their own beans, imported from a rundown factory somewhere in Colombia, because that s where the good stuff comes from. This variance of preference towards something as seemingly simple as dried beans in hot water boggles the mind. Only alcohol has similar divisions of taste, but there it s slightly understandable; different drinks come from drastically separate ingredients and can contain varying amounts of actual raw alcohol. However, in the case of coffee, people who call themselves true fanatics won t touch anything dissolvable or instant, and those instant drinkers usually avoid the painstaking process of brewing a cup from Colombian beans, claiming overt bitterness and time constraints. How can something so similar in nature, literally the same plant dissolved in some boiling water,

I would even argue a cultural identity rooted in nationalism is healthy. However, in recent years in the United States , this nationalism has began to evolve into a more dangerous social notion; nativism. This is a belief that the US should only protect the interests of those who are native to the U.S., leading to exclusionary policies and even forms of racism. Many of these beliefs are rooted in fear that have been stirred by a series of social movements lead by some on the political right. This is seen very prominently... Despite the inaccuracy of this view, these types of fears give way to nativist beliefs and discriminatory practices. Crawford discusses later on the way that many believe we should best teach immigrant students English. Many believe in a total immersion method which would remove classroom instruction time and force students to learn the language independently. In reality this is a lazy, neglectful practice with no basis in reality. Students who are coming from other countries and are forced to adapt at a young age to a completely new culture are under an immense amount of stress. To throw these students into classrooms with fluent speakers with teachers who may not know their mother tongue, nor have the time to teach them English will only have negative effects in their development. The best way to support language acquisition in young students is to create a supportive environment where they can focus on learning the language and not the stress of not knowing

This treaty was made to end the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers, but Germany was not allowed to attend the Conference so they had no say in the terms that were discussed. The Allies punished Germany in the Treaty of Versailles because of 1) pressure put on the allied countries by civilians to discipline Germany and 2) the strong feeling that Germany should pay for all of the damage and destruction caused by the war considering they were a major cause of starting it. The God that holds you over the pit of hell, much as one holds a spider, or some loathsome insect over the fire, abhors you, and is dreadfully provoked:his wrath towards you burns like fire...: (Edwards 123). • 35. Freedom And Freedom In Hobbes s Leviathan Freedom and liberty are both somewhat irrelevant concepts in Hobbes s Leviathan. Although he would argue that the type of regime in power has no real effect whatsoever on the freedom of its populace, his focus in writing Leviathan is not to create a form of government that allows its people to be most free. Rather, he intends to create a government which would most fully provide for the safety of those ruled by it. As such, freedom and liberty in the conventional sense do not appear in his text and he instead focuses on security and fear. Hobbes s first definition of freedom is interesting in that it is a very literal interpretation thereof. He states that Liberty, or Freedom, signifieth (properly) the absence of opposition (by opposition,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The regime is not what determines liberty, but rather the laws that that regime enacts. For Hobbes, every regime has one sovereign that is able to rule with unlimited power. Even in a democracy, Hobbes argues that the electorate combines to create one single sovereign and that power is not split equally among each voter. As aforementioned, Hobbes does not argue that a regime can never infringe upon the liberty of its citizens. He concedes that if a sovereign begins to enact an excess of laws then there are some scenarios within which the overloading of laws could infringe upon the citizens liberty. It is important to note, however, that no matter what laws the sovereign establishes, nor how intruding upon one s liberty they appear to be, they will never be unjust. As Hobbes says nothing the sovereign representative can do to a subject, on what pretence soever, can properly be called injustice, or injury, because every subject is author of every act the sovereign doth, (138). This ties back to the original covenant that all citizens agree upon at the inception of the Commonwealth, where they all authorize the sovereign to perform every action the sovereign deems

An antimony is defined as a contradiction between two statements, both supposedly obtained via sound reasoning and judgement. Kant s first antinomy of is of space and time. The hypothesis or thesis is that the world is limited in relation to space, and has a beginning in time. The null hypothesis or antithesis is the world has no limits in relation to both time and space, and is therefore infinite. • 39. Importance Of The Internet Of Things Essay Importance of the Internet of Things The term internet of things (IoT) has been around for a while. In simple terms, it refers to the connectivity between different kinds of technology. A good example of this is the Apple Watch, which was launched in the UK in June 2015. The watch is suited to each wearer, collects information about them and communicates the data to their iPhone. The idea behind the Apple Watchis to understand your needs and to send out messages to programmable devices around you to meet your requirements. This is one way in which technologyis being adapted to be incorporated into our lifestyle and support our daily routine. Technology is connected via sensors within the machines. A sensor is not exactly a machine itself, but it is a very important part of it as a whole. This is the part which transmits data. Once the data is gathered and transmitted, there must be a way to store it and analyze it when it reaches its destination. To do this, cloud based applications are the only way to interpret, transmit and store data coming from other devices. These applications enable apps to collect data and store it at any time. The whole idea behind the Internet of Things is to make the world around us more intelligent and save time by using technology, which is valuable to all businesses. CCS specialize in providing services to meet all technology and communication needs for businesses, including cloud based solutions and business broadband services. As

This means that values culminating from the revolt would be inaccurate in representing the true meaning of good or evil , because they were formed through the tainted lens of the slaves of ressentiment. They would portray the slaves, the weak, and the powerless as good and favourable, while casting the nobles, the masters, and the upperclassmen in an evil and malicious light. In conclusion, from both of these trials we believe that the temperature of the water plays a huge role in the increasing or decreasing of a gummi bear s mass. When the temperature was lower it seemed as though the mass of the gummi bear would increase from the absorption of the water that was in the beaker. However, whenever the water was warmer, it seemed as though the gummi bears would quickly disintegrate in the water. Overall, the increase in temperature of the water has a great effect on the mass of the gummi
  • 53. Analysis Of Julie Mehretu s Paintings Julie Mehretu s paintings are loosely termed history paintings by Douglas Fogle and called psychogeographies by the artist herself. A viewer is supposed to find something in themselves much like exploring a city and figuring things out for one s own self interest. Mehretu is quoted as saying my aim is to have a picture that appears one way from a distance almost like a cosmology, city, or universe from afar but then when you approach the work, the overall image shatters into numerous other pictures, stories, and events. Historically drawing is seen as inferior to paintingwhich makes it interesting that Julie Mehretu would employ so much drawing into her canvases because drawing is important to architectural drawings. How does the mapping nature of Julie Mehretu s paintings convey a sense of identity in a very political nature and how is it a representation of the post colonialist world in which we inhabit? Scholars all seem to agree that Mehretu s canvases are maps, but what do they seek to accomplish? My analysis of Mehretu s Stadia III will use a biographical and post colonialist methodology to explore the ways in which Mehretu s own upbringing and how the very nature of her mapmaking, though very artificial, can be seen as a way of both bringing us together and giving those groups that have previously been neglected throughout history a voice. • 55. Constitutional Conflict of the Dealth Penalty Essay Constitutional Conflict of the Dealth Penalty The courts positions of the death penalty has changed over the years. For centuries societies have used death as the ultimate penalty for crime. In the 1960 s, the court ruled against the death penalty as a cruel and unusual punishment , which was forbidden by the eighth amendment of the Constitution. By the 1990 s the death penalty was again in wide use supported by the court and Congress, which continually expanded by legislation the crimes for which death would be an acceptable penalty. Supreme Court cases that have felt the death penalty was unconstitutional include Roberts vs. Louisiana and Furman vs. Georgia. Roberts vs. Louisiana, (1976) was a case that tried Robert, who... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These circumstances included air craft highjacking; treason; murder for hire; murder of a judicial officer, policeman, or fireman in line of duty; and murder by a person with a previous record of violent crime. This decision made it clear that the justices did not consider the death penalty per say to be cruel and unusual punishment in the sense intended by the constitution. (Davis, 196 197). The justices reaffirmed what an unbiased historical and legal analysis would reveal every time that our forefathers were not against Capitol Punishment but against the misapplication of punishment bringing about injustice. Philosophically speaking there is a strange twist in logic to call Capitol Punishment inhuman or cruel. The inhumanity and cruelty was the crime that called for capitol consequences. The inhuman act was performed by the criminal in murder not on the criminal through capitol punishment. It can be argued that if one were to mandate a life sentence for a murderer that it is cruel and inhumane to expose inmates, guards and counselors to a volatile criminal. In fact there are many cases of murderers killing innocent victims while incarcerated. Was it cruel and inhumane to sustain the life of such a criminal so that he was given further opportunity to carry out his evil ways? The worth of the
  • 56. Comparison Of Modernism In A Streetcar Named Desire And A... The word modernism in literature means something new and untraditional that reevaluates the accepted principles of our world. Modernism is a style of writing that became popular in the early 1900 s. This style was developed in the period of WWI, a time of many important social changes. A Streetcar Named Desire and A Long Day s Journey Into Night are two plays that exemplify the style of modernism. Journey is a modernist novel with a tragic storyline about the Tyrone family. The main conflict in Streetcar is modernist because of the traditional, fundamentalist thinking. Each of these plays contains a character who represents a very important aspect of modernist literature: the burden of the past. This device is used distinctively in each of these two plays. While some similarities between Blanche Duboisand Mary Tyrone are evident, their differences are notable. Blanche Dubois, from A Streetcar Named Desire, carries the heavy burden of her past. Blanche was in love with a young man. She discovered her husband in bed with an older man, someone whom she had believed was just his friend. When confronted about the incident, he took his own life by shooting himself in the head. Compounding the sorrow of her husband s violent suicide, Blanche becomes increasingly fragile with the loss of the DuBois family home, Belle Reve. After the death of her parents, she goes through many financial and personal struggles. Blanche has always been burdened by her tormenting past, the loss of
