We extend the recent approach from reference [1] to obtain complete and analytic solutions (both brane and bulk) of a Simpson-Vaser (SV) geometry within a braneworld framework. The embedded geometry can represent a traversable wormhole (TWH), a one-way wormhole (OOWH), or a regular black hole (RBH). The resulting geometry is regular everywhere, eliminating any singularity or local de-Sitter core at the origin and on the brane location, where the regular geometry is given by the SV geometry. The throat of TWHs or OOWHs can extend into the extra dimension. The event horizon of RBH extends along the extra dimension, prompting speculation on the extension of entropy into this dimension. Although the induced geometry is characterized by tension, acting akin to a positive cosmological constant (thus potentially representing empty space), the induced four-dimensional geometry remains regular. There is no need to introduce additional energy sources on the brane to achieve this regularity. Hence, the brane's geometry, which may depict an RBH, TWH, or OWWH, is influenced by the geometric properties of the bulk

We provide a $5D$ generalization of the Hawking {\it et al.} black string in a Randall Sundrum setup. The embedded $4D$ geometry corresponds to the Simpson-Visser (SV) spacetime, which can represent a traversable wormhole, a one-way wormhole, or a regular black hole. To achieve this, we linearly deform both the bulk geometry and the bulk matter distribution with respect to a coupling constant. These deformations induce a transition from a $5D$ vacuum AdS distribution to an anisotropic distribution. The latter results in the induced geometry on the brane transitioning from a singular Schwarzschild spacetime to a regularized SV spacetime. Since there are no sources or matter fields on the brane, we can assert that the induced SV geometry on the brane arises from the influence of geometrical and matter deformations in the bulk. Thus, the central singularity is suppressed. We determine the cases where the energy conditions are either satisfied or violated. Our spacetime is asymptotically radial AdS, which is intriguing given the absence of a global AdS box that would prevent instability under larger wavelength perturbations. Therefore, it is no longer appropriate to claim that instability exists for very small perturbations near the AdS horizon.

Thus, we present a generalization, through the use of $p$-form gauge fields, of the quantization procedure for the scalar, electromagnetic, and Kalb-Ramond fields, all of which have been previously studied in the literature. We present an exact solution for the $p$-form gauge field when $D=2(p+1)$, and we highlight the connection of the $p=4$ case with the chiral $N=2$, $D=10$ superstring model. We could observe particle production for $D \neq 2(p+1)$ because the solutions are time-dependent. Additionally, observers in an accelerated co-moving reference frame will also experience a thermal bath. This could have significance in the realm of extra-dimensional physics and presents the intriguing prospect that precise observations of the Cosmic Microwave Background might confirm the presence of additional dimensions.

One of the main issues in gravitation is the presence of singularities in the most common space-time solutions of General Relativity, as the case of black holes. A way of constructing regular solutions that remove spacelike singularities consists in implement a bounce on such space-time, leading to what is usually known as black bounce space-times. Such space-times are known to describe regular black holes or traversable wormholes. However, one of the main issues lies on reconstructing the appropriate source that leads to such a solution. In this paper, a reconstruction method is implemented to show that such types of metrics can be well accommodated in non-linear electrodynamics with the presence of a scalar field. Some of the most important black bounces solutions are reconstructed in this framework, both in 3+1 as in 2+1 dimensions. For the first time in the literature, these solutions have an electrically charged source of matter from non-linear electrodynamics. Specific features are indicated that distinguish electric sources from magnetic ones, previously found for the same space-times.

Theoretically, it has been proposed that objects traveling radially along regular black holes (RBHs) would not be destroyed because of finite tidal forces and the absence of a singularity. However, the matter source allows the creation of an inner horizon linked to an unstable de Sitter core due to mass inflation instability. This inner horizon also gives rise to the appearance of a remnant, inhibiting complete evaporation. We introduce here a $d$-dimensional black hole model with Localized Sources of Matter (LSM), characterized by the absence of an inner horizon and featuring a central integrable singularity instead of an unstable de Sitter core. In our model, any object tracing a radial and timelike world-line would not be crushed by the singularity. This is attributed to finite tidal forces, the extendability of radial geodesics, and the weak nature of the singularity. Our LSM model enables the potential complete evaporation down to $r_h=0$ without forming a remnant. In higher dimensions, complete evaporation occurs through a phase transition, which could occur at Planck scales and be speculatively driven by the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP). Unlike RBHs, our model satisfies the energy conditions. We demonstrate a linear correction to the conventional area law of entropy, distinct from the RBH's correction. Additionally, we investigate the stability of the solutions through the speed of sound.

We consider the impact of Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) effects on the Dymnikova regular black hole. The minimum length scale introduced by the GUP modifies the energy density associated with the gravitational source, referred to as the Dymnikova vacuum, based on its analogy with the gravitational counterpart of the Schwinger effect. We present an approximated analytical solution (together with exact numerical results for comparison) that encompasses a wide range of black hole sizes, spanning from microscopic (Planckian and sub-Planckian) to macroscopic scales, whose properties crucially depend on the ratio between the de Sitter core radius and the GUP scale. The emergence of a wormhole inside de Sitter core in the innermost region of the object is one of the most relevant features of this family of solutions. Our findings demonstrate that these solutions remain singularity free, confirming the robustness of the Dymnikova regular black hole under GUP corrections. Regarding energy conditions, we find that the violation of the strong, weak, and null energy conditions which is characteristic of the pure Dymnikova case does not occur at Planckian scales in the GUP corrected solution. This contrast suggests a departure from conventional expectations and highlights the influence of quantum corrections and the GUP in modifying the energy conditions near the Planck scale.

The present paper is devoted to a new black bounce solution that regularize the well-known rotating black string in $3+1$ dimensions. To do so, the procedure pointed out by Simpson-Visser is followed, which has been already applied successfully to other static cases of black strings, with and without electric charge. This method implies to force a bounce on the radial coordinate, such that a wormhole throat arises before the singularity, which renders a regular solution. An analysis of the metric is conducted, showing the interpolation between a regular black hole and a wormhole, what provides a much richer family of solutions than the original metric. Different curvature magnitudes are obtained in order to analyze the regularity of the solution, including the Ricci and Kretschmann scalars. Finally, by following the Einstein field equations the corresponding effective energy-momentum tensor is obtained and the energy conditions are analyzed.

They lead the student to confront, and abandon, several central concepts of Galilean theory, such as simultaneity and rigidity of extended bodies. In particular, we review a new and simple solution to the twin paradox, recently found by one of the present authors [1]. It does not need to consider reference accelerators or light signals, which are the solutions presented in the literature.

This work builds upon the previous article [1] and explores the solution of the charged black string introduced in [2]. The black bounce regularization method, based on the Simpson-Visser solution, is employed by transforming the radial variable using $r\rightarrow \sqrt{r^2+a^2}$. The regular charged black string metric is defined, and the properties of event horizons, surface gravity, and Hawking temperature are investigated. The behavior of curvature quantities, including curvature invariants and tensors, is examined to verify the absence of singularities when $a\neq 0$. The Einstein equation for the energy-momentum tensor is solved, and the null energy condition is analyzed for the obtained solution. The sources of this solution are evaluated, combining a scalar field with nonlinear electrodynamics. However, unlike other works, an electric field is considered instead of a magnetic field. Finally, the study calculates the possibility of stable or unstable circular orbits for massive and massless particles.

However only very recently a full solution for $D = 4$ has been found by Garattini, thus the Casimir energy can be a source of traversable WHs. In the manuscript published by the authors, we show that this solution is possible for all space-time of dimension $D > 3$. Recently, Garattini sought to analyze the effects of Yukawa-type terms on shape functions and obtained promising results. However, it assumes reasonably questionable premises when establishing a non-homogeneity in the Equation of State, when assuming a fixation between the constants that is only observed in the usual model and when considering the Zero Tidal Condition, not observed in Casimir's wormholes. In this work, we study the effects generated by Yukawa-type corrective factors on traversable wormhole solutions generated by Casimir energy without assuming such premises. We observe that, in addition to being possible to build traversable wormholes that satisfy all the necessary conditions, it is possible to obtain an adequate fixation of the constants in order to recover the standard case without a double limit. It was observed that, in the global and constant cases, it is possible to set a value in the shielding parameter that makes the wormhole generate a repulsive gravitational force. Finally, we observed that in the constant case there was a limitation for the shielding factor, something not observed in the original article.

In this manuscript, we discuss the confinement of the spin $\frac{1}{2}$ field on a plethora of branewords models. Recently, in (Eur.Phys.J.C 80 (2020) 5, 432), we studied the consistency of the Standard Model (SM) fields localization on braneworlds with the Einstein equation. In that paper, we discussed the consistency of the spinor field confinement and, by using a Yukawa-like interaction given by $\mathcal{L}_{int}\propto f(y)\barΨΨ$, we obtained that the function must be defined as $f(y)\propto e^{-A}A'$. This shape of the scalar function emerge from the requirement that the spin $\frac{1}{2}$ (zero-mode) localization cannot modify the metric on bulk. This ensures that the confinement of gravity on the brane is preserved. In the present manuscript, we find a covariant scalar-coupling function that can generate this interaction. This provide a new mechanism for localizing fermion fields over the brane. We also discuss massive modes and we found some gravitational configuration where there are confined and discretized massive modes.

As in the Simpson-Visser work, in this new black string solution, it is possible to represent both a regular black hole and a wormhole just by changing the value of a parameter "$a$" used in its metric. Tensors and curvature invariants were analyzed to verify the regularity of the solution, as well as the energy conditions of the system. It was found that the null energy condition will always be violated for the entire space. The analysis of the thermodynamic properties of the regular black string was also carried out, in which the modifications generated about the original solution of the black string, were evaluated, specifically, the Hawking temperature, entropy, its thermal capacity, and the Helmholtz free energy. Finally, we investigate the possible stable or unstable circular orbits for photons and massive particles. The results were compared with those of the non-regular black string, seeking to make a parallel with the Simpson-Visser work.

The main result is obtaining the analytical solutions for the metric and all thermodynamic quantities, such as Hawking temperature, entropy, constant-volume heat capacity, and Gibbs free energy for static and stationary black hole solutions. Consequently, we determine a non-null horizon radius at which the black hole halts its evaporation by vanishing the temperature, indicating the emergence of remnants. In this paper, we investigate the bound-state solutions of the noncommutative Dirac oscillator with a permanent electric dipole moment in the presence of an electromagnetic field in (2+1)-dimensions. We consider a radial magnetic field generated by anti-Helmholtz coils, and the uniform electric field of the Stark effect. Next, we determine the bound-state solutions of the system, given by the two-component Dirac spinor and the relativistic energy spectrum. We note that this spinor is written in terms of the generalized Laguerre polynomials, and this spectrum is a linear function on the potential energy $U$, and depends explicitly on the quantum numbers $n$ and $m$, spin parameter $s$, and of four angular frequencies: $ω$, $\tildeω$, $ω_θ$, and $ω_η$, where $ω$ is the frequency of the oscillator, $\tildeω$ is a type of ``cyclotron frequency'', and $ω_θ$ and $ω_η$ are the noncommutative frequencies of position and momentum. Besides, we discussed some interesting features of such a spectrum, for example, its degeneracy, and then we graphically analyze the behavior of the spectrum as a function of the four frequencies for three different values of $n$, with and without the influence of $U$. Finally, we also analyze in detail the nonrelativistic limit of our results, and comparing our problem with other works, where we verified that our results generalize several particular cases of the literature.

In this paper, we study black strings in asymptotic safety gravity (ASG) scenario. The ASG approach is introduced by implementing gravitational and cosmological running coupling constants directly in the black string metric. We calculate the Hawking temperature, entropy, and heat capacity of the improved black string metric in two cases: considering the cosmological constant fixed in some fixed point and the general case where both Newton's constant and cosmological constant are improved. For the identification of the scale moment we used an general inverse law setting $k(r)\sim 1/r^{n}$. We show that improving only the Newton's constant the problem of singularity is solved for the identifications with $n>1$. However, if the cosmological constant is also running the singularity persists in the solution. Also, we show that the ASG effects predicts the presence of a remnant mass in the final evaporation process. Besides that, a logarithmic correction is observed in the entropy. However, a running cosmological constant introduces new correction terms to the entropy beyond that. We show that the improved black string solution remains stable, as in the usual case. Phase transitions are not observed in both cases studied here.

For the charged case we find that the thermodynamics is changed and the bounce parameter controls a phase transition, affecting the sign of the heat capacity and therefore the stability of the system. In this paper we study the scalar(tensor) and vector unparticle corrections for cosmic and black strings. Initially we have considered an static cosmic string ansatz from which we obtain the solution in terms of first and second kind Bessel functions. We have also obtained the solution for black string in the unparticle scenario. We could identify two regimes, namely, a gravity dominated regime and an ungravity dominated regime. In the gravity dominated regime the black string solution recovers the usual solution for black strings. The Hawking temperature was also studied in both regimes and in the ungravity dominated regime. As in the static and rotating black hole, we found a fractalization of the event horizon. This points to the fact that fractalization is a natural consequence of unparticles. Finally, we study the thermodynamic of the black string in the ungravity scenario by computing the entropy, heat capacity and free energy. For both cases we find that, depending on the region of the parameter $d_U$, we can have phase transitions.

In this paper, we obtain two different static black string solutions by considering as sources axisymmetric dark matter distributions in 3+1 dimensions. These solutions tend asymptotically to the usual static and uncharged black string vacuum solution predicted by General Relativity (GR). We show that both the solutions present an event horizon each, like the vacuum solution, which is larger than the horizon of the latter. Then, we obtain the Hawking temperature associated with the black string solutions. Differently from what occurs with the static black string in the vacuum, we find that there exists a linear density of mass (or tension) remnant associated with a vanishing Hawking temperature for the obtained solutions. Thus, we analyze how the presence of dark matter affects the occurrence of the remnants. Further, we calculate other thermodynamic quantities, namely entropy, heat capacity, and free energy per length unit, showing that thermal phase transitions can occur in the presence of dark matter. We also analyze the weak (and null) energy conditions and conclude that the dark matter does not behave like an exotic fluid. Finally, we obtain the corresponding stationary solutions, determining their tensions as functions of both the mass and angular momentum of the black strings.

In the present paper, we investigate the bound-state solutions of the noncommutative quantum Hall effect (NCQHE) with anomalous magnetic moment (AMM) in three different relativistic scenarios, namely: the Minkowski spacetime (inertial flat case), the spinning cosmic string (CS) spacetime (inertial curved case), and the spinning CS spacetime with noninertial effects (noninertial curved case). In particular, in the first two scenarios, we have an inertial frame, while in the third, we have a rotating frame. With respect to bound-state solutions, we focus primarily on eigenfunctions (Dirac spinor and wave function) and on energy eigenvalues (Landau levels), where we use the flat and curved Dirac equation in polar coordinates to reach such solutions. However, unlike the literature, here we consider a CS with an angular momentum non-null and also the NC of the positions, and therefore, we seek a more general description for the QHE. Once the solutions are obtained, we discuss the influence of all parameters and physical quantities on relativistic energy levels. Finally, we analyze the nonrelativistic limit, and we also compared our problem with other works, where we verified that our results generalize some particular cases of the literature.

In this paper we study a class of wormhole solutions called generalized Ellis-Bronnikov wormholes in the context of asymptotically safe gravity (ASG). These solutions are characterized by two parameters: an even number $n$ and the wormhole throat radius $r_t$. The particular case $n=2$ recovers the usual Ellis-Bronnikov spacetime, which has already been addressed in the literature. We analyzed the nature of matter in the wormhole's throat, and in nearby regions, of these generalized solutions with $n>2$, using three curvature scalars in the ASG approach, namely, the Ricci scalar, squared Ricci and the Kretschmann scalar. We have shown that the ASG leads to corrections in the matter at the wormhole's throat only for the $n=4$ case. For the squared Ricci and the Kretschmann we find that exotic matter is always necessary, as previously found for the usual Ellis-Bronnikov. However, for the Ricci scalar case, we found that ordinary matter is allowed at the throat. Therefore, the generalized Ellis-Bronnikov wormhole provides to the possibility of having ordinary matter at the throat in the context of asymptotically safe gravity.

We carried out an analysis in the throat of the wormhole with an specific choice of the cutoff function $f=ξR$. Recently, this study has been performed in Ref \cite{Moti:2020whf}, however the authors consider only a classical source with constant state parameter $ω$. Here we have generalized their study in two ways: a) with a classical state parameter which is dependent of the position $ω(r)$ and b) with an ASG improvement of the source. We have showed that it is possible to have traversability with exotic and non-exotic matter, but the kind of matter is highly dependent on the wormhole's parameters.

In this paper, we analyze the Schwarzschild-like wormhole in the Asymptotically Safe Gravity(ASG) scenario. The ASG corrections are implemented via renormalization group methods, which, as consequence, provides a new tensor $X_{μν}$ as a source to improved field equations, and promotes the Newton's constant into a running coupling constant. In particular, we check whether the radial energy conditions are satisfied and compare with the results obtained from the usual theory. We show that only in the particular case of the wormhole being asymptotically flat(Schwarzschild Wormholes) that the radial energy conditions are satisfied at the throat, depending on the chosen values for its radius $r_0$. In contrast, in the general Schwarzschild-like case, there is no possibility of the energy conditions being satisfied nearby the throat, as in the usual case. After that, we calculate the radial state parameter, $ω(r)$, in $r_0$, in order to verify what type of cosmologic matter is allowed at the wormhole throat, and we show that in both cases there is the possibility of the presence of exotic matter, phantom or quintessence-like matter. Finally, we give the $ω(r)$ solutions for all regions of space. Interestingly, we find that Schwarzschild-like Wormholes with excess of solid angle of the sphere in the asymptotic limit have the possibility of having non-exotic matter as source for certain values of the radial coordinate $r$. Furthermore, it was observed that quantum gravity corrections due the ASG necessarily imply regions with phantom-like matter, both for Schwarzschild and for Schwarzschild-like wormholes. This reinforces the supposition that a phantom fluid is always present for wormholes in this context.

Finally, we add the cosmological constant and find that for D = 3 Casimir WHs are possible, however, the space must always being AdS. Furthermore, some of these Casimir wormholes regard Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) corrections of Casimir energy. We use the Ishihara method for the Jacobi metric, which allows us to study the bending angle of light and massive test particles for finite distances. Beyond the uncorrected Casimir source, we consider many GUP corrections, namely: the Kempf, Mangano and Mann (KMM) model, the Detournay, Gabriel and Spindel (DGS) model, and the so-called type II model for the GUP principle. We also find the deflection angle of light and massive particles in the case of the receiver and the source are far away from the lens. In this manuscript we study Liouvillian non-integrability of strings in $AdS_{6}\times S^{2}\timesΣ$ background. We consider soliton strings and look for simple solutions in order to reduce the equations to only one linear second order differential equation called Normal Variation Equation (NVE). We study truncations in $η$ and $σ$ variables showing their applicability or not to catch (non) integrability of models. With this technique we are able to study many recent cases considered in the literature: the abelian and non-abelian T-duals, the $(p,q)$-5-brane system, the T$_{N}$, $+_{MN}$ theories and the $\tilde{T}_{N,P}$ and $+_{P,N}$ quivers. We show that all of them are not integrable. Finally, we consider the general case at the boundary $σ=σ_0$ for large $σ_0$ and show that we can get general conclusions about integrability. For example, beyond the above quivers, we show generically that long quivers are not integrable. In order to establish the results, we numerically study the string dynamical system seeking by chaotic behaviour. Such a characteristic gives one more piece of evidence for non-integrability of the background studied.

In this paper, we investigate the simplest wormhole solution - the Ellis-Bronnikov one - in the context of the Asymptotically Safe Gravity (ASG) at the Planck scale. We work with three models, which employ Ricci scalar, Kretschmann scalar, and squared Ricci tensor to improve the field equations by turning the Newton constant into a running coupling constant. For all the cases, we check the radial energy conditions of the wormhole solution and compare them with those valid in General Relativity (GR). We verify that asymptotic safety guarantees that the Ellis-Bronnikov wormhole can satisfy the radial energy conditions at the throat radius, $r_0$, within an interval of values of this latter. That is quite different from the result found in GR. Following, we evaluate the effective radial state parameter, $ω(r)$, at $r_0$, showing that the quantum gravitational effects modify Einstein's field equations in such a way that it is necessary a very exotic source of matter to generate the wormhole spacetime -- phantom or quintessence-like. That occurs within some ranges of throat radii, even though the energy conditions are or not violated there. Finally, we find that, although at $r_0$ we have a quintessence-like matter, on growing of $r$ we necessarily come across phantom-like regions. We speculate if such a phantom fluid must always be present in wormholes in the ASG context or even in more general quantum gravity scenarios.

However, to get this, the Lagrangians considered in the literature are not covariant. In order to solve this, we propose a covariant version to multi-localize $q-$form fields. As a consequence of the covariance, we show that all the $q$-form fields have an ultralight mode with the same mass that the gravitational one. That way we show that there is an universal mass scale for the ultralight modes of the bosonic fields. This suggests that a new physics must emerge, for all theses fields, at the same scale. After that, we revisit the results that consider a crystal manyfold background in the Randall-Sundrum scenary (RS), and add the discussion related to geometrical couplings in such a configuration. The wave functions of fields trapped in the crystal are Bloch-like waves, and their behavior is very similar to electrons inside a lattice, just like in the Kronig-Penney model (KP). We compute the mass dispersion relations for those fields with and without a dilaton coupling. It leads to new results for the band gap structure of these fields. In the case of the Kalb-Ramond field, and with the correct dispersion relation, there is no gap between the mass bands. Also, always that the field is coupled with the dilaton, its first mass mode decreases. When the generalization to the $q-$form is done, we show that it is not possible to suppress or generate mass for the fields by controlling the dilaton coupling, differently of what was argued previously.

We show that in a 3-D spacetime the same is not true since the arising of at least an event horizon is inevitable. We do the analysis for massive and massless fermions, as well as for scalar fields, considering quasi-periodic boundary conditions and find that a possibility to circumvent such a restriction is to introduce, besides the 3-D Casimir energy density and tension, a cosmological constant, embedding the surface in a 4-D manifold and applying a perpendicular weak magnetic field. This causes an additional tension on it, which contributes to the formation of the wormhole. Finally, we discuss the possibility of producing the condensed matter analogous of this wormhole in a graphene sheet and analyze the electronic transport through it.

The solutions analyzed break the Lorentz symmetry due to a non-zero vacuum expectation value of the bumblebee field. We use the Ishihara method, which allows us to study the bending angle of light for finite distances, and it is applicable to non-asymptotically flat spacetimes when considering the receiver viewpoint. In order to analyze the deflection of massive particles, we systematize the Ishihara method for its application in the Jacobi metric. This systematization allows the study of the deflection angle of massive particles using the Gauss-Bonnet theorem. We consider two backgrounds: the first was found by Bertolami et al. and is asymptotically flat. The second was found recently by Maluf et al. and is not asymptotically flat due to an effective cosmological constant.

We remark especially on the tracing of the proper time Hamiltonian, where the correct procedure is to use the eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the covariant DAlembertian. After some cancellations we find that the value of the functional W [0] is the same as obtained by Sorge. However, we argue that the proper vacuum energy density carries extra space-time volume terms that cancel over the gravitational correction, returning to the same expression as in Minkowski space-time.

Recently, in (Eur.Phys.J.C 80 (2020) 5, 432), the present authors obtained general stringent conditions on the localization of fields in braneworlds by imposing that its zero-mode must satisfy Einstein's equations (EE). Here, we continue this study by considering free $p$-form. These fields present an on-shell equivalency relation between a $p$-form and a $(D-p-2)$-form, provided by Hodge duality (HD). This symmetry will impose a new consistency condition, namely, confinement of a $p$-form must imply the localization of its dual. We apply the above conditions to $6$D braneworlds. With this, we find that in global string-like defects, for example, the $1$-form has a normalizable zero-mode. By using the HD, we show that its bulk dual $3$-form also has a normalizable zero-mode, making the confinement consistent with HD. However, these solutions cannot be made consistent with EE, therefore, these fields must be ruled out. In fact, by imposing both conditions, only the scalar and its dual field can be consistently localized. In this way, all the literature so far in which the free $1$-form is localized in codimension two models should be reviewed. These results also point to the fact that the symmetries of the fields can be used to verify the consistency of their localization and even prohibit it.

The study of the Unruh effect naturally raises the interest for a deeper understanding of the analogy between temperature and acceleration. A recurring question is whether an accelerated frame can be distinguished from an inertial thermal bath in pure thermodynamic experiments, such problem has been approached in the literature and a consensus is yet to be fully reached. In the present work we use the open quantum system formalism to investigate the case where both acceleration and background temperature are present. We find the asymptotic state density and entanglement generation from the Markovian evolution of accelerated qubits interacting with a thermal state of the external scalar field. Our results suggest that there is a very small asymmetry on the effects of the Unruh and background temperatures. Addressing the nonzero background temperature case is of both theoretical and phenomenological interest, thus the authors hope to enrich the existing discussions on the topic.

The general procedure for analyzing the localization of matter fields in Brane models is by integrating, in the action, its zero mode solutions over the extra dimensions. If this is finite, the field is said to be localized. However, the zero mode solutions must also satisfy the Einstein equations. With this in mind, we obtain stringent constraints on a general energy-momentum tensor by analyzing the Einstein's equations. These {\it consistency conditions} must be satisfied for any Braneworld model. We apply it for some fields of the Standard Model. For a free massless scalar field, the zero-mode localization is consistent only if the field does not depend on the extra dimensions. About the spin $\frac{1}{2}$ field with Yukawa-like interactions, we find a very specific relation between Yukawa function and the warp factor. As a consequence, the spinor field localization becomes inconsistent for most of the models studied in the literature. For the free vector field case we find that, independent of the braneworld or the number of extra dimensions, the zero-mode do not satisfy the consistency conditions. Finally, we consider the mechanisms proposed to localize this field. We find that a few survive, and even for these, the consistency conditions fix the free parameters or the possible class of solutions allowed.

In this manuscript we study the confinement of bosonic and spinning test particles in smooth Randall-Sundrum models. For this, we show that it is possible to find an effective potential which describe the motion of the particle over the extra dimension. For the bosonic case it is a known fact that free test particles cannot be localized neither in thin nor thick branes. Recently, a coupling to a scalar field has been used to localize a limited range of masses. Up to now, no mechanism has been found that can trap test particles of any mass over the brane. To solve this, we show that a coupling with the dilaton can trap particles of any mass. Next we analyze the spinning particle. The spin variables $ψ^{P}$ introduces an interaction with the curvature Riemann tensor. This introduces a correction to the effective potential. By analyzing it, we find that the spinning particle can be localized at a position different of the brane. We also show that a spinning particle over the brane can escape to infinity. Therefore, we can conclude that free bosonic and spinning particles are not trapped to the brane.

The discussion of vacuum energy is currently a subject of great theoretical importance, specially concerning the cosmological constant problem in General Relativity. From Quantum Field Theory, it is stated that vacuum states subject to boundary conditions may generate tensions on these boundaries related to a measurable non-zero renormalized vacuum energy: the Casimir Effect. As such, investigating how these vacuum states and energy behave in curved backgrounds is just natural and might provide important results in the near future. In this paper we revisit a model of the Casimir Effect in weak gravitational field background, which has been proposed and further generalized in the literature. A trick originally used to simplify calculations is shown to lead to a wrong value for the energy shift, and by performing explicit mode expansion we arrive at an unexpected result: null gravitational correction even at order $(M/R)^2$, in opposition to earlier results.

In this paper we study the localization of a model with kinetic gauge mixing on a thin membrane. The model we discuss is a theory for millicharged particles, proposed by Holdom in 1985, and that now is object of study in the LHC. We propose a geometrical coupling between the gauge fields, the Ricci scalar and the Ricci tensor. We show that it is possible to localize such a model by regarding specific values for the coupling constants. We find the solutions for the two gauge fields and discuss the localization for scalar fields that appears naturally in the process. We show that not necessarily the gauge and scalar fields are localized at the same time.

In this work, we study the general properties of the $D$-vector field localization on $(D-d-1)$-brane with co-dimension $d$. We consider a conformally flat metric with the warp factor depending only on the transverse extra dimensions. We employ the geometrical coupling mechanism and find an analytical solution for the $U(1)$ gauge field valid for any warp factor. Using this solution we find that the only condition necessary for localization is that the bulk geometry is asymptotically AdS. Therefore, our solution has an universal validity for any warp factor and is independent of the particular model considered. We also show that the model has no tachyonic modes. Finally, we study the scalar components of the $D$-vector field. As a general result, we show that if we consider the coupling with the tensor and the Ricci scalar in higher co-dimensions, there is an indication that both sectors will be localized. As a concrete example, the above techniques are applied for the intersecting brane model. We obtain that the branes introduce boundary conditions that fix all parameters of the model in such a way that both sectors, gauge and scalar fields, are confined.

The lack of security in information systems has caused numerous financial and moral losses to several organizations. The organizations have a series of information security measures recommended by literature and international standards. However, the implementation of policies, actions, and adjustment to such standards is not simple and must be addressed by specific needs identified by the Information Security Governance in each organization. There are many challenges in effectively establishing, maintaining, and measuring information security in a way that adds value. Those challenges demonstrate a need for further investigations which address the problem. This paper presents a strategy to measure the maturity in information security aiming, also, to assist in the application and prioritization of information security actions in the corporate environment. For this, a survey was used as the main methodological instrument, reaching 157 distinct companies. As a result, it was possible to classify the ISO/IEC 27001 and 27002 controls in four stages according to the importance given by the companies. The COBIT maturity levels and a risk analysis matrix were also used. Finally, the adaptable strategy was successfully tested in a company

In this manuscript we compute corrections to the global Casimir effect at zero and finite temperature due to Rainbow's Gravity (parametrized by $ξ$). For this we use the solutions for the scalar field with mass $m$ in the deformed Schwarzschild background and the corresponding quantized energies of the system, which represent the stationary states of the field and yield the stable part of the quantum vacuum energy. The analysis is made here by considering the limit for which the source mass, $M$, approaches zero, in order to verify the effects on the global Casimir effect in mini black holes near to the Planck scale, $ω_P$. We find a singular behavior for the regularized vacuum energy at zero temperature and for all the corresponding thermodynamic quantities when $m^2=ω^2_P/ξ$, what can be seen as the limit of validity of the model. Furthermore, we show that the remnant Casimir tension over the event horizon in the limit $M\to 0$ is finite for any temperature and all the space of parameters. In fact we show that the remnant tension receives no corrections from Rainbow's Gravity. This points to the fact that such a behavior may be an universal property of this kind of system.

In this paper we study the coupling of $p$-form fields with geometrical tensor fields, namely Ricci, Einstein, Horndeski and Riemann in Randall-Sundrum scenarios with co-dimension one. We consider delta-like and branes generated by a kink and a domain wall. We begin by a detailed study of the Kalb-Ramond (KR) field. The analysis of KR field is very rich since it is a tensorial object and more complex non-minimal couplings are possible. The generalization to $p$-forms can provide more information about the properties and structures that can possibly be universal in the geometrical localization mechanism. The zero mode is treated separately and conditions for localization of zero modes of $p-$forms are found for all the cases above and with this we arrive at the above conclusion about vector fields. Another property that can be tested is the absence of resonances found in the case of vector fields. For this we analyze the possible unstable massive modes for all the above cases via transmission coefficient. Our conclusion is that we have more probability to observe massive unstable modes in the Ricci and Riemann coupling.

In this paper we find analytical expressions for thermodynamic quantities of scalar (tensor) and vector unparticle static black holes. We also find rotating solutions to these systems and analyse their thermodynamics. First we consider the static case with a spherically symmetric source for both the vector and scalar (tensor) unparticles. We obtain thus analytical expressions to the principal thermodynamic quantities: Hawking temperature, entropy, heat capacity and free energy. For the scalar (tensor) case we find that the black hole presents a residual value for the entropy when its radius goes to zero but the other thermodynamic quantities give, for any horizon radius, a thermodynamically unstable behavior similar to the standard black hole. For the vector case we find a richer structure in the region in which the horizon radius is less than the characteristic length of the unparticle theory. We identify a phase transition and a region where the black hole can be thermodynamically stable. Following, we show that the mentioned modifications in the standard gravity are formally similar to those ones present in the black holes with quintessence. With this we also show, notwithstanding, that the unparticles cannot be a source of quintessence. By using this similarity we find two different rotating solutions to the unparticle black holes based on works by Ghosh and Toshmatov {\it et al}. For both cases we compute the Hawking temperature and in the ungravity dominated regime we find, as in the static cases, a fractalization of the event horizon. For the Gosh-like solution the fractal dimension depends on the polar angle and on the rotation of the source. For the Toshmatov-like one it is equal to the static case and therefore the fractalization is not dependent on the rotation of the source.
