We describe an analysis comparing the $p\bar{p}$ elastic cross section as measured by the D0 Collaboration at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV to that in $pp$ collisions as measured by the TOTEM Collaboration at 2.76, 7, 8, and 13 TeV using a model-independent approach. The TOTEM cross sections extrapolated to a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} =$ 1.96 TeV are compared with the D0 measurement in the region of the diffractive minimum and the second maximum of the $pp$ cross section. The two data sets disagree at the 3.4$σ$ level and thus provide evidence for the $t$-channel exchange of a colorless, $C$-odd gluonic compound, also known as the odderon. We combine these results with a TOTEM analysis of the same $C$-odd exchange based on the total cross section and the ratio of the real to imaginary parts of the forward elastic scattering amplitude in $pp$ scattering. The combined significance of these results is larger than 5$σ$ and is interpreted as the first observation of the exchange of a colorless, $C$-odd gluonic compound.

Due to their proximity, high dark-matter content, and apparent absence of non-thermal processes, Milky Way dwarf spheroidal satellite galaxies (dSphs) are excellent targets for the indirect detection of dark matter. Recently, eight new dSph candidates were discovered using the first year of data from the Dark Energy Survey (DES). We searched for gamma-ray emission coincident with the positions of these new objects in six years of Fermi Large Area Telescope data. We found no significant excesses of gamma-ray emission. Under the assumption that the DES candidates are dSphs with dark matter halo properties similar to the known dSphs, we computed individual and combined limits on the velocity-averaged dark matter annihilation cross section for these new targets. If the estimated dark-matter content of these dSph candidates is confirmed, they will constrain the annihilation cross section to lie below the thermal relic cross section for dark matter particles with masses < 20 GeV annihilating via the b-bbar or tau+tau- channels.

We summarize and combine direct measurements of the mass of the $W$ boson in $\sqrt{s} = 1.96 \text{TeV}$ proton-antiproton collision data collected by CDF and D0 experiments at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Earlier measurements from CDF and D0 are combined with the two latest, more precise measurements: a CDF measurement in the electron and muon channels using data corresponding to $2.2 \mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity, and a D0 measurement in the electron channel using data corresponding to $4.3 \mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity. The resulting Tevatron average for the mass of the $W$ boson is $\MW = 80\,387 \pm 16 \text{MeV}$. Including measurements obtained in electron-positron collisions at LEP yields the most precise value of $\MW = 80\,385 \pm 15 \text{MeV}$.

The top quark is the heaviest known elementary particle, with a mass about 40 times larger than the mass of its isospin partner, the bottom quark. It decays almost 100% of the time to a $W$ boson and a bottom quark. Using top-antitop pairs at the Tevatron proton-antiproton collider, the CDF and {\dzero} collaborations have measured the top quark's mass in different final states for integrated luminosities of up to 5.8 fb$^{-1}$. This paper reports on a combination of these measurements that results in a more precise value of the mass than any individual decay channel can provide. It describes the treatment of the systematic uncertainties and their correlations. The mass value determined is $173.18 \pm 0.56 \thinspace ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.75 \thinspace ({\rm syst})$ GeV or $173.18 \pm 0.94$ GeV, which has a precision of $\pm 0.54%$, making this the most precise determination of the top quark mass.

For $|t|<0.6 GeV^2$, dσ/dt is described by an exponential function of the form $Ae^{-b|t|}$ with a slope parameter $ b = 16.86 \pm 0.10(stat) \pm 0.20(syst) GeV^{-2}$. A change in slope is observed at $|t| \approx 0.6 GeV^2$, followed by a more gradual |t| dependence with increasing values of |t|.

We report the combination of recent measurements of the helicity of the W boson from top quark decay by the CDF and D0 collaborations, based on data samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of 2.7 - 5.4 fb^-1 of ppbar collisions collected during Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Combining measurements that simultaneously determine the fractions of W bosons with longitudinal (f0) and right-handed (f+) helicities, we find f0 = 0.722 \pm 0.081 [\pm 0.062 (stat.) \pm 0.052 (syst.)] and f+ = -0.033 \pm 0.046 [\pm 0.034 (stat.) \pm 0.031 (syst.)]. Combining measurements where one of the helicity fractions is fixed to the value expected in the standard model, we find f0 = 0.682 \pm 0.057 [\pm 0.035 (stat.) \pm 0.046 (syst.)] and f+ = -0.015\pm0.035 [\pm 0.018 (stat.) \pm 0.030 (syst.)]. The results are consistent with standard model expectations.

We investigate final states arising from $\tilde{t}_{1} \bar{\tilde{t}_{1}} \rightarrow b\bar{b}μτ\tildeν \tildeν$ and $\tilde{t}_{1} \bar{\tilde{t}_{1}} \rightarrow b\bar{b}ττ\tildeν \tildeν$. We measure the top quark mass (mt) in ppbar collisions at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV using dilepton ttbar->W+bW-bbar->l+nubl-nubarbbar events, where l denotes an electron, a muon, or a tau that decays leptonically. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb-1 collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We obtain mt = 174.0 +- 1.8(stat) +- 2.4(syst) GeV, which is in agreement with the current world average mt = 173.3 +- 1.1 GeV. This is currently the most precise measurement of mt in the dilepton channel.

Three events with WZ decay characteristics are observed. The 95% C.L. limits for anomalous WWZ couplings are found to be -2.0 < Delta kappa_Z < 2.4 for form factor scale Lambda = 1 TeV, and -0.48 < lambda_Z < 0.48 and -0.49 < Delta g_1^Z < 0.66 for Lambda = 1.5 TeV.

Measurement of Decay Parameters for $Ξ^{-} \to Λπ^{-}$ Decay

Abstract:
Based on 1.35 million polarized $Ξ^{-}$ events, we measure the parameter $φ_Ξ$ to be $-1.61^{\circ} \pm 2.66^{\circ} \pm 0.37^{\circ}$ for $Ξ^{-} \to Λπ^{-}$ decay. New results for the parameters $β_Ξ$ and $γ_Ξ$ are also presented. Assuming that the CP-violating phase-shift difference is negligible, we deduce the strong phase-shift difference between the P-wave and S-wave amplitudes of the $Λπ$…

This strong phase-shift difference reduces the theoretical uncertainty in estimating the level of CP violation in $Ξ$-hyperon decay.

Search for Direct CP Violation in Non-Leptonic Decays of Charged $Ξ$ and $Λ$ Hyperons

Abstract:
A search for direct CP violation in the non-leptonic decays of hyperons has been performed. In comparing the product of the decay parameters, $α_Ξα_Λ$, in terms of an asymmetry parameter, $A_{ΞΛ}$, between hyperons and anti-hyperons in the charged $Ξ\to Λπ$ and $Λ\to p π$ decay sequence, we found no evidence of direct CP violations. The parameter $A_{ΞΛ}$ was measured to be $0.012 \pm 0.014$.

Preliminary results from searches for anomalous WW/WZ->muon-neutrino-jet-jet and WZ->e-e-e-neutrino production are presented. 95% CL anomalous coupling limits from previously published DO results are -0.20 < lambda < 0.20 (Delta kappa=0) and -0.30 < Delta kappa < 0.43 (lambda=0) for Lambda=2000 GeV where the WWgamma couplings are assumed to equal the WWZ couplings. Combined DO + LEP experiment anomalous coupling limits are presented for the first time. 95% CL limits are -0.16<lambda(gamma)< 0.10 (Delta kappa=0) and -0.15 < Delta kappa(gamma) < 0.41 (lambda=0) under the assumption that the couplings are related by the ``HISZ'' constraints. 95% CL anomalous ZZg and Zgg coupling limits from DO are |h(30)^Z|<0.36 (h(40)^Z=0) and |h(40)^Z|<0.05 (h(30)^Z=0) for Lambda=750 GeV. CDF reports the first observation of a ZZ event. Prospects for Run II are discussed.
