Due to the combined effect of changes in geopolitical and geoeconomic structures, there are significant differences in the ecosphere. The interpretation of the changes is possible from several points of view, on the basis of which how our present age can be called: anthropocene, capitalocene, necrocene or chthulucene?

A geopolitikai és geoökonómiai struktúrákban végbement változások összhatásának következtében az ökoszférában jelentős eltérések tapasztalhatók. A változások értelmezése több szempontból is lehetséges, amely alapján jelen korunk milyen megnevezéssel illethető: antropocén, kapitalocén, nekrocén vagy khthulucén?

A napjainkban zajló globális antropocén klímaváltozás a hétköznapi életünket egyre inkább befolyásolja és hatását előreláthatóan számos területen minél drasztikusabban fejti majd ki. A tudomány jelenlegi állása megerősíti a feltételezést miszerint a következmények beláthatatlanok és visszafordíthatatlanok lehetnek az élővilág és az emberiség jövőjére nézve. Az emberi tevékenység által indukált klímaváltozás legfőbb oka az üvegházhatású gázok –elsősorban a szén-dioxid – óriási mennyiségű kibocsátása. Habár hazánk szén-dioxid kibocsátása az Európai Uniós elvárásokkal összhangban összességében csökkenni látszik, a közlekedésből és a szállítmányozásból származó emisszió arányaiban mégis folyamatosan és megállíthatatlanul növekszik, 2018-tól a nemzetgazdasági ágazatok között a legmagasabb kibocsátási értékeket produkálva. Ennek egyik oka, hogy arányosan a legtöbb, a modern fogyasztói társadalom generált igényeit kielégítő, folyamatosan gyarapodó mennyiségű árut közúton mozgatják. Továbbá, a közlekedési és szállítmányozási szektor közel 90%-ban még mindig a fosszilis üzemanyagokra támaszkodik, kiváltképpen a közép- és hosszútávú közúti fuvarozásban. Mindezek miatt a jelen tanulmány célja, azon úttörő célkitűzés, hogy a közúti árufuvarozás környezeti fenntarthatóságát vizsgálja, valamint keresse azt az alternatív meghajtási típust a nehéz tehergépjárművek esetében, ami előreláthatóan javíthat az ellátásiláncok energiafelhasználási hatékonyságán és mérsékelheti a környezeti terhelést, miközben a teljesítmény nem változik. Mindemellett a költségek és a technológiai trendek vizsgálata is nélkülözhetetlen fókuszpontok. A tanulmány időszerűségét kiemeli, hogy a 2022-től fennálló ukrajnai háborús helyzet szintén rávilágított az Európai Unió és Magyarország számottevő fosszilis üzemanyag függésére, ami tovább sürgeti a közúti árufuvarozásban az energetikai váltás kikerülhetetlen szükségességét.

The ongoing global Anthropocene climate change seems to be increasingly affecting our everyday life and probably will exert its even more drastic effects in numerous areas. Our prevalent state of science confirms the assumptions that the consequences are most likely unpredictable and even irreversible for the future of the living world and humanity. The main cause of the humanly induced climate change is the increased emission of greenhouse gases - primarily carbon dioxide - on an enormous scale. Although the overall carbon dioxide emissions of Hungary seem to have been decreasing in the recent years in accordance with the expectations of the European Union, emissions from transport and shipping still have unstoppably been increasing, therefore producing the highest emission values among the sectors of the Hungarian economy as of 2018. A leading reason for this is that the ever-increasing amount of consumer goods are mainly moved on road. Furthermore, not only in Hungary but also in all of the European countries, the transport and shipping sector still relies on fossil fuels in almost 90%, especially in medium and long-distance road transport. Taking all this into consideration, the aim of my study was to investigate the environmental sustainability concerning road freight transport as well as to search for alternative propulsion types for heavy goods vehicles (HGV) that could improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact while keeping up the performance level. In addition, the examination of costs and technological trends was considered to be further essential focal points. The applicability of the study is enhanced by the fact that since the outbreak of the Ukrainian War attention has been drawn to the significant dependence of the European Union and Hungary on fossil fuels for energy. Such over-reliance clearly calls for a substantial change in the operation of inland road freight in the near future.

In the ancient Egyptian ideological system, the development and interpretation of the relationship between order and chaos (maat and isfet) played a significant role from the very beginning. Maat, the "cosmic order", ensured a peaceful, happy life for people, while the ever-threatening isfet manifested itself in the disruption of natural, social and religious order. The impact of chaos was particularly strong in the distant desert borderlands away from the cultural space of the Nile Valley, where the influence of Egyptian culture was still weak in the early imperial eras. The participants of the state expeditions sent to the so-called Water Mountain of Djedefre, located on the outer edge of the Dakhla oasis in the Western Sahara, firsthand experienced the ever-increasing desert forces of chaos. During their temporary stay by the mountain, in order to ensure the indispensable power of maat, inscriptions and rock drawings were engraved on the side of the water mountain. In addition to the official royal inscriptions and power related depictions declaring the pharaohs’ ownership over the territory and the depiction of the god Igai, the participants of the expeditions also left behind scenes of Nile ships, animal petroglyphs, images of a griffin and probably a jackal ba pulling the sun bark. In the following it will be analysed in what era(s) these inscriptions and depictions come from, how they were made, and what coherent ideological meaning is hidden behind them, which, according to the belief of the ancient Egyptians, facilitated the victory of order over the chaos of the desert.




Az ókori egyiptomi ideológiai rendszerben a rend és a káosz (maat és isfet) viszonyának kialakítása és értelmezése jelentőségteljes szerepet kapott a kezdetektől fogva. Maat, a „kozmikus rend”, békés, boldog életet biztosított az embereknek, míg az örökösen fenyegető isfet a természeti, társadalmi és vallási rend megzavarásában nyilvánult meg. A káosz hatása különösen erősödött a nílus-völgyi kulturális tértől távolodva, a messzi sivatagi határvidékeken, ahol a kezdeti birodalmi korszakokban az egyiptomi kultúra hatása még gyengén érvényesült. A Dakhla oázis külső, nyugat-szaharai peremvidékén található Dzsedefré fáraó vízihegyéhez küldött állami expedíciók résztvevői elsőkézből tapasztalták meg a káosz egyre fokozódó sivatagi erőit. Átmeneti tartózkodásuk alatt, maat hatalmának biztosítása végett, a vízihegy oldalán feliratokat és sziklarajzokat (petroglifákat) véstek fel. A terület hovatartozását kinyilvánító hivatalos királyfeliratok és istenábrázolás mellett az expedíciók résztvevői többek között hátrahagytak még ellenség lesújtása jelenetet, nílusi hajó ábrázolásokat, állat petroglifákat, egy griff és  valószínűleg egy napbárkát húzó sakál ba képmásait is.  A továbbiakban elemzésre kerül, hogy ezek a feliratok, illetve ábrázolások milyen korszak(ok)ból származnak, hogyan készültek, és milyen összefüggő ideológiai jelentés bújik meg mögöttük, ami az ókori egyiptomiak hite szerint elősegítette a rend győzelmét a sivatagi káosz felett.

The topic of this paper is the inner and outer relations of the governors in Balat at the end of the Old Kingdom of Ancient Egypt at the Western Oases Frontier. The inner relations refer to the governors' connections in the oasis of Dakhla itself and to other oases of the area as well as to the royal residence of Memphis in the Nile Valley. The outer relations were directed towards foreign lands reachable via the desert roads of the Sahara leaving from Dakhla. The article also discusses what foreign lands or countries these could have been. Similarly, it aims to touch upon the duties and tasks that would have been carried out by the governors in their complex network of relations inasmuch as it is possible to be reconstructed from the Balat archives and other written or archaeological sources.
Balat or Ayn Asil is in Dakhla Oasis about 500 kms from the Nile Valley in the Western Desert of Egypt. From the beginning of ancient Egyptian history expeditions from the Nile Valley targeted the area of the Western Desert Oases and amongst them the Dakhla. The aim of these expeditions must have been the exploration of the desert, of its natural resources and hunting desert game . Signalling that the expeditions had taken place; several rock engravings were left behind. Parallel to the presence of indigenous cultural units, temporary camp sites and watch posts installed by the Egyptians have been attested alongside the routes leading to the southern part of the Dakhla Depression.

In marking their borders, Thotmes III and Amenhotep III applied the designations of the "Cool Waters of Horus and Seth". These terms referred to the celestial borders adjoining the empire and especially characterized the southern and northern borders, from where the water of the Nile originated (in the form of rain in the southern foreign countries) and to where the water of the river returned (rejoining the northern celestial waters of the cosmos). The pharaoh was considered not only as the earthly reincarnation and heir of the two gods, but also played an important role in ensuring the flow of the water within the boundaries of his empire. The flowing water may also have tied the foreign countries to the main body of the empire, as they seem to have occupied parts of the outer section of the ancient Egyptian cosmos. - - - -
A jelen tanulmány a Víz a világ vallásaiban 2022. november 24-én az Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem Bölcsészettudományi Karán a Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem Történelemtudományi Doktori Iskolájának Vallástörténeti Workshopja és a Lendület Újasszír és Újbabiloni Pecséthengerek és Istenvilág Kutatócsoport közös rendezésében megtartott konferencián elhangzott hasonló című előadásom írásban publikált változata. A konferencia felhívásának olvasásakor a késő kori (Kr. e. 722—332) Yale kozmosztérkép töredékének tanulmányozásával foglalkoztam, amelyen az egyiptomiak által ismert világ (kozmosz) külső peremén elhelyezkedő úgynevezett Hórusz hűs vizének megjelenítése keltette fel érdeklődésemet. A következőkben ennek elemzésével: sajátos elhelyezkedésével az egyiptomi birodalmi határ északi pereménél, a déli határ külső szélén lokalizálható Széth hűs vizével történő párba helyezésével, a két isten hűs vizeinek jellegével és előfordulásukkal a 18. dinasztia királyi felirataiban, valamint a korabeli királyi ideológiában betöltött jelentőségükkel foglalkozom.

The study examines buyers’ behavior in Hungary during COVID -19 pandemic based on a non-representative online questionnaire that was carried out during the time of lockdown in Hungary in March 2020. We would like to find out whether there was really accumulation of goods, and if so, which product ranges were involved. How did the outbreak of COVID-19 change shopping behavior? In which direction did it move and could retail trade react to the unexpected, rapid challenge of going online? Can the respondents be identified with the traditional buying behaviour pattern and can it be typified with it? In our study we provide an overview of the anomalies detected in the Hungarian “panic buying” concerning shopping frequency, spending and product avoidance. Our study deals with the rapid transformation of the Slovak retail network as well as it analyzes the changes in shopping habits in Komárno, a medium sized border town in Slovakia. The fi rst part of this paper, which is based on a desk research, analyzes the transformation of Slovak retail trade in the past few years. Aft er providing an overlook of the national trends, the characteristic features of retail trade in Komárno are introduced. Those economic processes are pointed out which have initiated fundamental changes in the retail trade of this gateway town in southern Slovakia. In the second part of the paper we introduce the results of the fi eld research carried out on two sets of samples with 300 respondents each.
