УДК 973:2 П. Г. Космач Белорусский государственный университет РАЗВИТИЕ ГОСУДАРСТВЕННО-КОНФЕССИОНАЛЬНЫХ ОТНОШЕНИЙ В США ВТОРОЙ ПОЛОВИНЫ XIX В.
В статье анализируются важнейшие аспекты государственно-конфессиональных отношений в Соединенных Штатах Америки второй половины XIX в. Подчеркивается сложность исторического опыта взаимодействия американского государства и религиозных организаций. Решение Верховного суда США по делу «Рейнольдс против Соединенных Штатов» (1879) показало, что федеральные власти отделяли индивидуальные убеждения от действий по соображениям личной веры, на которые могли накладываться те или иные ограничения. Констатируется глубокая взаимосвязь между протестантским христианством и правовой культурой США того времени, в частности, на примере дела «Церковь Святой Троицы против Соединенных Штатов» (1892). Сделан вывод, что американское государство руководствовалось в отдельных вопросах внутренней политики нормами той религиозной традиции, которой придерживалось абсолютное большинство населения страны. Приведенный материал отражает глубокое своеобразие государственно-конфессиональных отношений в США, где секуляризационные процессы развивались медленнее, чем в некоторых других странах Запада XIX-начала XX в.

The article deals with the formation of the laws guaranteeing religious freedom in Virginia (1776-1786). It shows the factors in favor of the assertion of the principles of religious freedom, as well as its understanding in the works of T. Jefferson and J. Madison. The conclusion considers the cultural and historical implications of the American Enlightenment during the Eighteenth century.

The article is devoted to an examination of the connection between religious and political issues during the process of separation of the thirteen colonies in North America from Great Britain and the beginnings of the American identity. Based on a wide variety of historical primary sources (including the materials from the Library of Lambert Palace) the author has analyzed the political role of the Anglican church as the confessional supporter of official London in the colonies. Special attention was given to the religious factor in the resistance to the measures of the central government during 1763 – 1776.
