Oilseeds play crucial role in Indian agriculture economy contributing 6% in gross national product and 10% in agricultural produce value (DOAC, 2017). Indian Mustard (Brassica juncea L.) is one of the most important oilseed crop of rabi season of our country and approximately 13.2% of the annual edible oil comes from Brassica. The field experiment was performed during rabi season of 2019 at the Agricultural Research Farm of Barrister Thakur Chhedilal College of Agriculture and Research Station, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh). The soil of the experimental field was clay loam in texture, locally known as dorsa. The soil was neutral in reaction, medium in organic carbon, low in available nitrogen, medium in phosphorus and potash and low in sulphur. The experiment was laid out in strip plot design consisting three treatments of irrigation on strip A [irrigation at 80% PE (I1), 60% PE (I2) and 40% PE (I3) through drip] with a control (farmer’s practice) and four nutrient levels on strip B [75% ...

Contamination of ready-to-eat foods and beverages sold by street vendors and hawkers rendering them unacceptable for human consumption has become a global health problem. A study aimed at examining the quality and safety of milk based foods in Allahabad city was done wherein a total of 40 samples were analysed including Ice cream, Kulfi, Mango Shake and Colour ice bar. The samples were classified in satisfactory, acceptable and unsatisfactory categories according to PHLS (Public Health Laboratory Services, UK) guidelines. None of the samples screened in the present study were in satisfactory grade however, 40% ice cream samples, 50% mango shake samples, 10% kulfi samples and 60% colour ice bar samples were within acceptable range. More than 50% samples of ice cream, kulfi, mango shake and 40% samples of colour ice bar samples were unsatisfactory as TPC count was 10 5 CFU/g/ml. The results showed that in most localities the street vended foods remained hygienically poor since bacteri...

Optimal irrigation scheduling and crop planning are the essential tasks for obtaining the maximum benefit from an irrigated command with the available water resources. This task can be achieved by assessing the irrigation system performance under existing scenarios. Keeping this in view, the present study was carried out to assess existing water supply-demand gap of the Nawagarh Distributary (BlockNawagarh, DistrictJanjgir-Champa) of Hasdeo Bango Majo r Irrigation Project (DistrictJanjgirChampa), Chhattisgarh, India. The required data on crop, weather; soil and canal flow pertaining to the study area were collected during the years 2012 and 2013 from various government departments, organizations and personal contact with the farmers of the command. To assess the existing supplydemand scenario of Nawagarh Distributary, CROPWAT 8.0 model was used. CROPWAT is a decision support system developed by the Land and Water Development Division of FAO in 1990 for planning and management of irr...

Background: Prescribing generic medicine is still a debatable issue among prescribers and the issues of bioequivalence, quality, and safety remain problem areas. The perception that generic medicines are inferior to brand medicine can be eradicated by educating medical students who are the future prescribers. Aim and Objective: The correct knowledge of generic medicine among students will enhance the prescribing of low cost and effective medicines. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the knowledge and perception of generic medicines among undergraduates (UG), interns, and postgraduate (PG) students in a medical teaching institute. Materials and Methods: A questionnaire-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 230 medical students (145 UG, 50 interns, and 35 PG) in Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Saifai, to assess knowledge and attitude of students for generic medicines. Chi-square test was used to analyze results. Results: About 98% of UG and interns and 100% of PG students were aware of generic medicines. Awareness of Jan Aushadhi Scheme is substantially poor in UG students as compared to interns and PG (P < 0.001). About 86% of student considered generic medicine of low cost, less effective (30%), poor quality (34%), and having more side effects (38%) as compared to branded medicine. Students believe product bonuses (28%) and advertisement (38%) by pharmaceuticals will alter their prescribing patterns in the future. About 71% of students (P < 0.001) consider that it is easier to remember a generic name and 89% of students (P < 0.001) wish to have further information regarding generic medicine in their medical curriculum. Conclusion: Medical students lack comprehensive knowledge and carry erroneous impressions for generic medicine. There is a need for more emphasis regarding generic medicine in UG medical curriculum. This will augment rational prescribing and cost-effective use of generic medicine in the future.

Wheat is important rabi crop in Chhattisgarh, which is grown mostly under irrigated condition. The late sowing and early rise in the temperature during winter season are the major causes of the lower productivity. One hundred genotypes were evaluated on two dates of sowing under late sown conditions and Heat Tolerance Index (HTI) was calculated for seed yield and seven component characters. Most of the characters recorded high coefficient of variation for HTI except days to maturity. HTI for days to flowering ranged from 0.12 (EBWYT 524) to 0.76 (CG 8047). Forty three genotypes have negative index indicating high grains per spike in second sowing date, moreover, genotypes Raj 4187, LBPY 06-14, ESWYT 104 and CG 8040 have zero HTI and YCSN 102(09), Raj 4174 have near stable grains per spike in two sowing dates. Three genotypes IBWSN 1156, EIGN 8-83 and HD 2932 (C) recorded the zero HTI for tillers per plant. The average 1000 seed weight was 33.49 percent higher in first sowing date as compare to second date. The minimum index value is 0.04 for EGPY 5, CG 8017, moreover SBR-48, EBWYT 519 and ESWYT 528 recorded less than 0.10 index, indicating stable seed weight over different sowing dates. The seed yield per plot ranged from 260 g for IBWSN 1156 to 1100 g for CG 8046 with average yield of 608.5 grams per plot first date of sowing. Under January sown conditions, mean seed yield was 357.7 gram per plot resulting in 70 percent reduction in seed yield. The seed yield per plot ranged from 180 grams for Lok 1 to 575 grams for IBWSN 1133. The HTI ranged from 0.00 (tolerance) to 0.72 (Susceptible). CG 8020, CG 8038 and LBPY 6-13 recorded the 0.00 index, but these varieties are poor yielder than the check, hence can only be used as parent for heat tolerance.

Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are receiving increasing attentions from academia and deployment efforts from industry, due to the various applications and potential tremendous benefits they offer for future VANET users. Wellbeing information switch over enables life-critical applications, such as the alerting functionality during connection traversing and lane integration, and thus, it plays a key role in VANET. In a VANET, vehicles will rely on the integrity of received data for deciding when to present alerts to drivers. The communication between car to car, car to roadside unit done through wireless communication. That is why security is an important concern area for vehicular network application. In VANET some serious network attacks such as man in middle attack, masquerading is possible. In this paper we are going to propose an algorithm in order to overcome these network attacks. Finally we have analyzed and compared our algorithm with existing algorithm [1].
