The aim of this article is to identify the main principles for how the public sector functions in a post-industrial society. The research method adopted was a meta-analysis of the results of research by various authors on the issues of managing the developmentof post-industrial society. The subject of the meta-analysis was primarily literature in the field of knowledge management, development economics and new growth theories. The post-industrial society presented in the article appears as a land of happiness, where everyone works together to multiply the common good, guided by the following principles: knowledge gives access to power because post-industrial society is a meritocracy; social standing depends on diligence and willingness to take advantage of the offers of the educational system; the role of the state is to provide and safeguard open access to the ruling elite for anyone who wishes to learn and improve their conduct by developing objectively formulated, fair and impart...

The growth and development of any country depends on the quantity and quality of investment made in it. Therefore, both developing and developed countries compete in an attempt to create beneficial conditions for foreign direct investments (FDIs). In the era of globalisation it is becoming crucial to define foreign investors’ motives in addition to localisation factors that influence the decision about the selection of place for an investment (i.e. determinants), as well as the investment risk and attractiveness of a given country. Ignorance of those factors which condition the influx of investment plainly hinders investment-attracting policies and reduces the efficiency of promotional activities on the international scale. By contrast, awareness of the mechanisms and regularities of foreign investors’ decisions allows to increase the inflow of those FDIs that appropriately stimulate the development of the country. The aim of this article is to identify factors determining the degre...

W monografii omówiono uwarunkowania prawno-ekonomiczne rozwoju elastycznego rynku pracy na przykładzie doświadczeń Unii Europejskiej (rynek odpowiadający specyfice krajów rozwiniętych), by przedstawić, w jaki sposób jest on obecnie pojmowany. The main aim of this monograph was the theoretical evaluation of the legal and economic circumstances of development of a flexible labor market on the example of the European Union. The discussed flexible labor market reflects the specific character of the developed countries. Chapter 1 focused on the description of the different ways of under...

The aim of the work was to present the relationship between the development of social capital and corruption on the basis of new growth and knowledge management theories. Corruption was regarded in this work as a brake on the country’s productivity growth through its impact on the rate and quality of structural changes in an economy, and therefore its welfare. The article discussed possible damages caused by corruption to the efforts in the development of social capital, especially in public administration, which could include, for example, fall in different types of standards and mutual trust of social life participants. Based on the studies of international institutions as World Bank, World Economic Forum and Legatum Institute was also analyzed the relationship between selected indicators of corruption and social capital levels on a group of 104 countries by means of statistical methods in 2009–2010. The aim of this study was to analyze how the relation between unemployment and innovation activity can affect the productivity of the economy through its impact on the export structure. The results of research carried out on a group of 69 countries in the years 1996-2016 indicate that the nature of the relationship between the unemployment rate and innovation activity may affect both positive and negative changes in the technological sophistication production structure and thus exports. In our study also occurs a two-way relationship between the increase in expenditure on R&D activity and the decline in the unemployment rate. This means that the decrease in the unemployment rate may impact the growth of innovation activity, which in turn generates a further decline in the unemployment rate. In line with expectations, this is more typical for higher-income countries, already possessing a sufficiently developed economic structure and a well-functioning labor market.
