    This article contains the description of Maco Maulud, the tradition of Indonesian society  of Arab clan in Palembang.   Maco Maulud comes from the word maco‘reading’ and maulud.   Maulud means “being born.”   Maco-maulud in this case, means reading the history of the Prophet Mohammed existing inMajemuk-Maulid written in Arabic and red like poetry reading or singing.   There are four maulid scripts in Majemuk-Maulid, maulid of Syarafal anam, maulid of al Barzanji, maulid of Diba, and maulid of Azab.  Maco maulud, made as routine activity for Indone- sian societies of Arab clan.  It is used as a tradition which almost resembles ritual activities.   A party, e.g.  wedding party, and circumcision, are not perfect (afdal) without maco-maulud  ceremonies. Key words: maco, maca, maulud, maulid.

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar berbentuk modul menyimak berbasis budaya lokal yang dapat digunakan oleh mahasiswa di Universitas Baturaja. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Penelitian ini memodifikasi model pengembangan Borg, Gall dan Gall serta Dick, Carey, dan Carey menjadi enam langkah, yaitu identifikasi kebutuhan, eksplorasi kebutuhan materi, produksi bahan ajar, validasi desain, revisi, dan uji coba produk. Untuk mengetahui kepraktisan dan keefektivan modul, dilakukan uji validasi oleh ahli dan tiga tahap evaluasi formatif menggunakan angket, wawancara dan lembar penilaian. Berdasarkan hasil validasi yang dilakukan dari tiga aspek, yaitu kelayakan isi/materi dan penyajian, kebahasaan, dan kegrafikaan, modul dikategorikan valid.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan kurikulum Cambridge di Singapore Indonesian School Palembang, mencakup visi-misi, struktur kurikulum Cambridge, sistem penerimaan siswa dan guru, sistem penyampaian, sistem penilaian, dampak penerapannya, citra sekolah dan kesulitan yang dihadapi. Penelitian ini menerapkan desain penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dan menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi sebagai metode pengumpulan data. Analisis data dilakukan dengan langkah-langkah menentukan jenis analisis yang digunakan, mengelompokkan data berdasarkan hasil wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, serta membuat hubungan antara kelompok data hasil wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi.     The decline in the character of our young generation today is extremely worrying. Not a bit of counseling that is done for them both at school and in the community. However, the results are less than satisfactory. Scout Movement as one of the vehicles of non-formal education seems still very lerevan used to overcome that anxiety. Primary school as the first place where children receive formal education seems to be very suitable as a place to instill character. By using the basic principles of scouting and scouting methods, the scout movement believed will help the government to inculcate values in children from an early age . Therefore, it is not too late if the government in this case the ministry of education and culture and the scout movement oversee the implementation of the ministerial regulations on scouting activities in schools, including primary schools.     This research aims to improve the learning results of the grade III materials know wake up flat using props Board nail in SD Negeri 2 Palembang. This type of research this is a class action research (PTK). PTK was held for 2 cycles, each meeting encompassed the planning stages, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of research is the grade III SD Negeri 2 Palembang amounted to 32 students comprise 23 male students and female students 9. Data collection techniques are used i.e. tests and observation. The results showed that the value of improved student learning outcomes, this looks at the results of student learning cycle I value the average percentage of students with 64.78 59.37%, further on the results of student learning cycle II average students 83.32 with the percentage of 83.87%. So it can be concluded that the use of props nail boards can improve learning outcomes grade III SD Negeri 2 Palembang.

    This study aimed to describe the implementation of learning model Talking Stick on the theme of My Ambition at Muhammadiyah 6 Palembang, which include: (1) the implementation of learning, and (2) the involvement of students in the fourth grade at Muhammadiyah 6 Palembang. This type of the research used is qualitative research. The subject of this study was a classroom teacher and students in class IVd with 40 students. The data of the research were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. At the time of learning process, teacher applied model of Talking Stick well. Based on the value of students’ learning outcomes was obtained by the average value of the themes my ambition on the sub-theme fourth graders 84,125 on which is included in very good category.     Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan (1) proses kegiatan belajar mengajar keterampilan membaca permulaan di SD Puncak Sekuning Palembang mencakup tahap kegiatan pendahuluan, kegiatan inti dan kegiatan penutup; (2) faktor pendukung dan penghambat membaca permulaan terhadap siswa kelas II SD Puncak Sekuning Palembang.
