To increase participation in youth soccer. I have developed and algorithm that uses demographic data to determine how many soccer players should playing in a geographic area. Using my strategic management experience I help clubs increase enrollment and stablize their nonprofit volunteer boards so they are able to facilitate the influx.

Is coaching the most important factor in developing a winning athletic program? Research says no. Recruiting is a significantly more important factor to a team's success.

Presenting a sample plan for the NCAA rules committee to aid them in developing rules to improve soccer at the collegiate level is the purpose of this paper. There are three main areas to be considered in improving the rules for soccer played under the purview of the NCAA. This plan will help improve the academic potential of soccer players, it will improve the level of soccer being played on the field, and it will make collegiate soccer relevant as a goal for youth players, fans of the sport, and in the development cycle of soccer around the world.
College coaches are interviewed and professional European development models are looked at to create this proposal. The main proposal to enhance college soccer development is to have the season span both semesters. Soccer would improve as the development cycle approaches an ideal setting – similar to what other leagues and countries currently follow. The schedule must be limited to one game a week. This has the benefit of increasing academic performance because classes would not be missed. This would also decrease injuries and increase performance. Soccer would improve because that extra time that is found can be concentrated on technical development, which is currently lacking. The number of substitutions must be reduced so that cohesive teams with mental solutions (top level soccer) can be developed.
If these solutions are not implemented soon NCAA college soccer could turn into a wasteland as the talent leaves to go professional. It is also possible for the NAIA, a competing collegiate organization, to drain players or for the MLS to offer educational incentives to cut in on their territory.

Universities seem to have a unique relationship with athletic coaches with regards to intellectual property in comparison to the traditional roles in academia. The advent of new technology has provided an opening for universities to reconsider the ground they have previously ceded to the athletic coaches in regards to revenue streams and ownership of intellectual property. Coaches should make sure to address these issues in their contracts to ensure that they continue to enjoy their current rights and extend them to new technologies in the future.

Budget planning and scheduling are listed together as the two go hand-in-hand. The definition of scheduling is used in its most broad sense and covers all forms of travel, securing practice and facility times, community outreach, speaking engagements, meals and more. The budget must mesh with scheduling, especially for road trips, as team travel is usually the largest expense a team faces. Similarly, recruiting and media are inextricably tied together and are main duties. The camps operations relate to both budgeting/scheduling and recruiting/media since it is integral for recruiting and as a money maker, which retains assistant coaches enhancing stability in the program.
