Özet Feyerabend'in günümüzde halen popüler olmasının temel nedenlerinden biri, kendinden önceki düşünürlerin standartlaşmış görüşlerine, değişmez olarak görülen düşünsel çerçevelere karşı çıkmasından kaynaklandığı söylenebilir. Ona göre monist bir paradigmadan ziyade plüralist bir paradigmanın olması doğru bilginin ortaya çıkması bağlamında daha rasyonel bir tercih olmalıdır. Bilime böylesi bir bakış açısıyla yaklaşan Feyerabend'in, bilimle ilişkilendirdiği devlet, özgürlük ve eğitim anlayışı da oldukça sıra dışıdır. Bu çalışmada, bir dönem pozitivist anlayışı benimsemiş olmasına rağmen bir süre sonra Viyana Çevresi'nden uzaklaşan ve bilimi alışık olmadık bir biçimde eleştiren, bilgiye anarşist bir bakış açısıyla yaklaşan, bilimin artık toplumun çıkarlarına hizmet etmesi gerektiğini savunan ve sıradan insanların da bilime katkı sunması gerektiğine inanan Feyerabend'in yaşamına ve bilim felsefesine ilişkin görüşlerine yer verilmiştir.

This study aims to present pre-service teachers’ perceptions of “administration” and “school principal” reflected through metaphors; a purpose based on the fact that although they are trained in educational administration with only one course at university, pre-service teachers who are trained in the faculties of education constitute the group with the highest potential for becoming educational administrators in Turkish education system. The study group is the 4th grade (senior) university students who were chosen by means of criterion sampling method and who study at Preschool Teaching, Primary School Teaching, Social Sciences Teaching, Science Teaching, Music Teaching, Art Teaching, Psychological Counseling and Guidance programs at Adnan Menderes University. The aim of this study is to learn and explain how and where school principals spend their free times and
whether they can get enough rest outside of the school. The study was designed as a phenomenological study
and was conducted with maximum diversity sampling technique for selection of schools and criterion sampling
technique for selection of school principals. The data were collected via a semi-structured interview form
developed by using the literature review and content analysis was used or the analysis of the data. The study
group of the research consists of five female and five male principals working in 10 public schools in the Efeler,
Aydın in the spring term of the 2018/2019 academic year. Schools for the study group were determined by using
maximum diversity sampling and two kindergartens, three primary schools, three secondary schools and two
high schools were selected.
The main findings of the study are as follows: it was found that the habits of male and female school principals
differ; female principals can rest less compared to males, while males can spend more time on their hobbies. It
was also found that principals got training for their personal and professional development, they cannot rest on
weekdays at all, they have the opportunity to rest only at the weekends. Moreover, it was found that the principals
prefer quiet places away from the city life and wish to spend time with family members in the weekends.
As a suggestion, shared leadership practice within the school can decrease the workload of principals. In
order to reduce the workload of the principals and thus make them allocate more personal time for themselves,
redefining job descriptions of both principals and vice-principals and appointing sufficient civil servants to
support schools can be suggested.

This study aims to present pre-service teachers' perceptions of " administration " and " school principal " reflected through metaphors; a purpose based on the fact that although they are trained in educational administration with only one course at university, pre-service teachers who are trained in the faculties of education constitute the group with the highest potential for becoming educational administrators in Turkish education system. The study group is the 4th grade (senior) university students who were chosen by means of criterion sampling method and who study at Preschool Menderes University. The criteria were the students' year of education and the course of Turkish Education System and School Management they take during their higher education. In this study which is based on phenomenology research design, a written form was used as the data collection tool aiming the perception of pre-service students for administration and school principal through metaphors. After the content analysis of the data gathered through written forms, it has been found out that pre-service students have mostly positive perceptions of administration and school principal concepts and administration is perceived to a more authoritarian structure while school principal and administration are considered equal in terms of responsibility.
