RESUMEN

Este artículo, que describe el proceso investigador conducente a la preparación de una certificación de dominio lingüístico comunicativo dirigida a trabajadores inmigrantes en la Comunidad de Madrid, se centra muy especialmente en el tratamiento dado en la prueba a las variables socioculturales relacionadas con tres grandes campos: el de las referencias culturales de diverso orden, el de las rutinas y usos convencionales de la lengua y el de las convenciones sociales y los comportamientos ritualizados no verbales. El diseño de esta certificación asume los principios lingüísticos, psicolingüísticos y sociolingüísticos del Marco Común Europeo de Referencia –MCER– y un modelo de lengua que se enseña, se aprende y se evalúa desde una perspectiva pragmática, funcional, comunicativa.
El trabajo explica inicialmente el marco social, institucional, teórico y de aplicación del proyecto de certificación lingüística, así como las diferentes fases seguidas. Comenzó con un estudio etnográfico indagatorio de las necesidades comunicativas de los destinatarios, a la selección de los géneros discursivos orales y escritos en los ámbitos y las situaciones de comunicación, lo que llevó a la elección del enfoque por tareas para la prueba, a la definición de su formato, al dise- ño de las tareas a incluir y a la redacción de las especificaciones de las escalas de evaluación de cada competencia, para proceder al proceso de validación y de implantación del Diploma

ABSTRACT

“Sociocultural and communicative variables in the curricular design of a certification of Spanish for immigrant workers”

This paper, which describes the research project which led to the construction of a test to certify linguistic communicative performance of immigrant workers in the Comunidad de Madrid, focuses on the treatment given to sociocultural variables related to three main areas: cultural references, routine and conventional uses of language and non verbal ritualised behaviours. The test is based on CEFR linguistic, psycholinguistic and socialinguistic principles and specifications, and on a language model which is taught, learnt and evaluated under a pragmatic, functional and communicative perspective.
The paper explains the social, institutional and theoretical framework of the project as well as the different phases followed. The starting point was an ethnographic study of the target group’s communicative needs and the domains and communicative situations in which they need to operate. This led to the selection of the taskbased approach as the most appropriate for the test, the definition of the desired format, the selection of suitable oral and written genres to be represented, the design of the tasks to be included and the specification of evaluation scales for each competence. The process was completed with the validation and implementation of the test.
